I love those wonderful gourd swags! I have a good collection of gourds thanks to the time I lived in Louisville! Now I live in Western Washington and it is too cool to grow gourds. So I treasure my collection. You and your Mom make the best team. Thank you both so much for sharing your great ideas!

If you all have daylillys, the long dried leaves make wonderful primitive additions to the gourds. Or any Fall arrangement. Bunch some together and tie with raffia and hang on a tobacco stick gate at a show and people love to buy them. Love your videos and you give great instructions.

Oh, how I wish I had bought the whole box full!! My husband drilled round holes in them, we added a leather string, and the birds love their new homes!

These turned out so nice-what a great idea. I plan on making some and thought I would use some of the flowers I've dried from my garden in place of the bittersweet.

Sharing my Green Bean, prim drieds. 1 bag of green beans, long ones. Take a sm/med length of uhhh... jute, approximately 20 in. Make a few knots at one end, and start sewing thru the middle of the green beans. They don't need to go all in the same direction. I used 1/2 of the bag of GB, at the top tied a loop to hang. I made another one the same way. Hung to dry, and wala...they look so awesome... and they are the real mc coy...lol That's it, I hung them in my pantry. You will love this crafty...:) Enjoy...~!!!

Great job 👏 I always wondered how the gourds were dried and prepared. When I saw you taking that wet raffia out to dry I had to laugh, it reminded me of something that happened to me a few weeks ago. It was a super hot 🥵 day, I was walking through the parking lot back to my car and stepped into a huge wad of gum. It was so stringy that when I tried to pull it off my shoe it stuck to my hands and I had that mess all over me! LOL 😂

Of course did I go to Etsy and order some gourds. I had some but I did not have the long neck ones and I found them. You must have had so much fun! Last year I went pumpkin crazy, this year I went crazy.

Use clear nail polish on the end of your jute. Makes stringing anything easier.
