Even at their craziest and most energetic, Andy has always slayed live. Shows like this only work with a strong and reliable backbone, and to date he's never put on a bad show.
Saw an interview not too long ago of Patrick talking about how he misses these kind of shows, because he was so connected with his audience and honestly the band’s energy here really shows how close they were with their audience/fans
@magpie-yf8gf RACETRAITOR MENTIONED !!!!!! hes played some sets with the band in relatively recent history. fob is totally ingrained within chicago hardcore. pete wentz and tim mcilrath (rise against) were in a metallic hardcore band called arma angelus
God this is so fucking awesome. From the first note, the energy is off the charts. They used to throw every bit of themselves into their shows and they were magnetic as fuck to watch.
Some of us had handycams and coolpix cameras lol. We still enjoyed it, and I still do. I don't record the whole thing tho, since I know other will. I just vibe.
I hate these comments. I feel so old! i was probably 12 or 13 when this show happened. I saw FOB at a VFW hall with a bunch of other local bands in 2005 i think? it was a great show and only $5 or $7 I think From Under The Cork Tree was just coming out or was about too.
I know I was 14 in 03'. I remember in 05' seeing FOB on MTV for the first time and thinking man who are these guys and what's with the boy with the antlers lol 10 years later I'm going to see then for the first time in Chicago on the Boys Of Zummer Tour!!!!
I remember they open for that TBS tour in late 04, and the next time they played here they played the same venue and sold out. Crazy what a few months did.
Lmao seriously w these babies! I was 16 in 2005 when From Under the Cork Tree came out. I saw a secret show under the fake name “Schrute Farms” in 2007 in Buffalo where I’m from. Closest thing to seeing these boys in this sort of environment. But the pure TTTYG set list and energy are what makes this amazing.
Tell That Mick... 1:08 Dead On Arrival 5:00 Grand Theft Autumn 8:45 Homesick at Space Camp 11:53 Grenade Jumper 14:55 Chicago is So Two Years Ago 17:54 Saturday 21:27
Watching this again after seeing them in Birmingham last week and tearing up a little because Patrick made a little speech after "Chicago is So 2 Years Ago" about how it made him so excited hearing an arena of people sing all the words to a 20 year old song "because not too many people were singing it back when we put it out" 🥲 i love this band so much
Does nobody recognize the bass part from Okay I Believe You But My Tommy Gun Don't for a couple seconds in the beginning? I've seen them a couple times recently but I'd sell my soul to go this show. If only I was born ten years earlier.
I first saw FOB in 2003 during their Back to School tour along with Acceptance and Spitalfield. Being from Seattle, I was there for Acceptance but immediately fell in love with these guys. Not a big fan of much they've done in the past 10 years, but this early stuff was incredible.
oh man I love this! Captures perfectly that time in the music scene how fun shows were. I wasn't at this show, but went to at least 100 like this. I look back fondly on this era.
I was..lemme see 14..dear god this is the fob I miss..I heard about them the year before this concert and I dug them saw them in 05 they put on great shows change isn't bad but..this is nostalgia right here
Funny how 4 years ago I was obsessing over this show and would dream to see fall out boy on Halloween and this year I got to see them on Halloween. That means that show was exactly 20 years after this one 🥲
So neat!!!! Wow, Halloween of 2003 was my 25th birthday…. Seems like ages ago. It’s so amazing how far they’ve come and how much of the old grit they still have.
