Some things are timeless. Though I've got to say, the last few seconds of this video creep me out very, very badly. "Those who burn books will in the end burn people."
Friend: "Hey what's the title of that song you're listening to?" Me: "My song knows what you did in the dark" Friend: "What?!" Me: "My so... Light em up!"
I pray that good songs like this will still be listened years from now. I hope to have my kids listen to this song and hear that they heard it before. A lot of songs today are crap, but the good ones like these, I hope they for a long time and become classics.
Do you remember 2013 at all? You were probably like 9. This played on the video like every .6 seconds in 2013. This was a big deal because it was the first song and video released out of no where after Fall Out Boy took a 4 year hiatus.
So, like...youre right specifically because I have seen countless montages of Battlefield and other FPS games using this song. Cringy - but I use to joke around with my friends when we'd play Battlefield 3. I would sing the "Light 'em up" part when I was about to wipe a huge group of enemies. It got to the point to where it would happened like 5 times a match and my friends would just stop, watch the kill feed and lose their collective shit at times. It was actually hysterical to us because we were fans of the TF2 animation where the Pyro is literally burning everything down to the ground, but in his mind he's spreading rainbows and joy. Its a god tier animation btw Edit: I quite literally forgot it wasn't a fan-made animation but the actual "Meet the Pyro" cinematic/trailer for the fuckin Pyro that the dev team made 😂😂😂😂
I heard it on the radio, and I had to double take and figure out if it was an old song that I never heard of before. I knew immediately it was Fall Out Boy though, this song fits them so well.
Majority of the comments saying they're here because of Big Hero Six/Pitch Perfect 2 and I'm in the corner being like, 'Been here since Thnks fr th Mmrs' XD Welcome to the new fans by the way, you won't regret being here
I still remember the morning this was released, I woke up to texts from a few people saying "IT HAPPENED, GET UP, IT WASN'T A RUMOR" and I literally fell of bed ran down the hall way screaming, crashed into the wall, fell over in the kitchen, raced to my computer and started shaking and crying while I typed in their website, all while people in the house were just looking at me thinking I was mental. Then I went upstairs to my mum sobbing, and she just said "fall out boy?" then a few days later I went up crying again and she said "they are coming to New Zealand aren't they?" good mum she knows me well.
i am 78 yrs old,and i loved rock and roll, but one afternoon i decided give this a play ,yes your right i am hooked on it brilliant, when they sing light up light up a feel like i am back in my youth. go for it lads amazing song.
wow, for a band that at its origination would seem to be a group you think about from 'way back then in 2001,' Fall Out Boy's ability to continue to crank out compelling songs with fantastic lyrics and creativity is astounding.
No, no, no. Don't delete it. Rewrite it. Improve it. Keep at it. If you want, find a beta reader to help edit it. Sincerely, a fellow fanfiction creator (though, admittedly for a **very** different fandom).
Ooh oh oh oh, ooh oh oh oh Be careful making wishes in the dark Can't be sure when they've hit their mark And besides in the meantime I'm just dreaming of tearing you apart I'm in the details with the devil So now the world can never get me on my level I just got to get you out of the cage I'm a young lovers rage Gonna need a spark to ignite My songs know what you did in the dark So light em up up up, light em up up up, light em up up up, I'm on fire So light em up up up, light em up up up, light em up up up, I'm on fire Ooh oh oh oh (In the dark, in the dark) Ooh oh oh oh (In the dark, in the dark) All the writers keep writing what they write Somewhere another pretty vein just dies I've got the scars from tomorrow and I wish you could see That you're the antidote to everything except for me A constellation of tears on your lashes Burn everything you love Then burn the ashes In the end everything collides My childhood spat back the monster that you see My songs know what you did in the dark So light em up up up, light em up up up, light em up up up, I'm on fire So light em up up up, light em up up up, light em up up up, I'm on fire Ooh oh oh oh (In the dark, in the dark) Ooh oh oh oh (In the dark, in the dark) My songs know what you did in the dark My songs know what you did in the dark So light em up up up, light em up up up, light em up up up, I'm on fire So light em up up up, light em up up up, light em up up up, I'm on fire Ooh oh oh oh (In the dark, in the dark) Ooh oh oh oh (In the dark, in the dark) Ooh oh oh Om!
@@mariov1743 Very true. The "I'm on fire" part is a two part harmony and it might even be doubled on top of that. Plus, when performing live you gotta "jump right in" to parts like that without saving up a breath. They almost overlap in the studio... they're very close
Every time my parents hear this, they're like "This sounds familiar." I'm like "Well yeah, you hear it at every sports game you go to." Still a great pump-up song!
EpicGirl Plays!! it's sad how much they fucked up that movie, they fucked it up so much that they can't make another percy jackson movie and if they make another one, it will make no sense
Joven Chen Ikr lol I loved hearing this song in it.. I might have sang along even though they are the enemies.. lol Also as soon as they started singing it I'm like 'Well, it's over, they will win.' lol

Two years ago I only knew this song, didn't even care who sang it. Here I am today, dancing like Uma Thurman because I am Immortal, I will be remembered for Centuries as the "The Kid Who Wasnt Alright" because I vowed to Dance, Dance for eternity, because I Dont Care what people think.
OMG SAME. This was the only fob song I knew, but I didn't know who sang it. This comment = my life. Also when I die I will be going down swinging and say to the world "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs".
How did they come up with this video? Were they just like "Hey, this songs about fire and burning stuff, let's burn shit!" "No, better, let's burn OUR shit!" "Yeah!"
Has anybody noticed that whenever you go to a FOB, P!ATD, MCR, or twenty one pilots video you will ALWAYS find Dan and Phil fans? I'm one myself, but what is it that we all like the same music?
Thank you so much :D i understand exactly the same, always when this song comes up I'm like "ham chicken ham ham... " even when its just in my head :D everybodys like whats wrong with you :D
