In this video I prep our outside decks for winter. I also fix up our bird station. My Amazon Store: www.amazon.com... Amish built Bird Feeder: amzn.to/2RPBH7e My Ebook: whitecottageco... My Etsy Shop: www.etsy.com/s...
I love watching the birds all of God's creations are just so beautiful. I live in the city of Greensburg PA. But I'd rather live in the country. To hear the the sounds of nature instead of cars and trucks in all that stuff. Take care and God bless
Hi! ☺ Your birds look very happy! I would like to share with you that I love to feed the birds too! I have many feeders & buy several different kinds of bird food for them. One of their favorites, that I have found, is Mealworms. They are overpriced in small quantities. I puchase bags of 11 pounds each as I also feed them to my chickens & ducks. ☺ Thank you for sharing!! ☺☺😎😎
I knew she was different from everyone else on here. I’ve seen Mennonites before. Are y’all like the Amish? Not sure what the difference is but assuming you’re Christian. I’m a believer in Christ. I grew up Muslim but came to Christ in 2010. Still don’t know of all different groups out there. I just know Jesus and love Him. Thanks for sharing. God bless you! 🙏🏼
Wow i admire the energy you have to do all that!! You are one busy woman! Love all the colors in your garden. You really artract so many birds with all the food you provide lovely of you to.do that.
Thank you for this video, it has inspired me to get out and to take care of our feeders. My husband and I both enjoyed them, now he's gone, It's been a difficult year. Your videos have brought me back to being creative again. I have a business and look forward to moving on to my next chapter in it. I have a major illness, thank you for being on here, RU-vid is one form of entertainment for me. Bless you, thank you, keep creating, btw, love your home.
You are so energetic! I admire all of your hard work! Fall is so hard to say goodbye to all of the beauty! I actually get depressed the day I do all of the packing up for the winter and rejoice when its warm again!
Gosh you have a lot to do to get ready for winter. I am from California . Love your videos. Every morning I get up and turn on youtube and head for your channel. I just love all your videos. So interesting. I feel like I am learning things each time I watch one.
Mary, you're a rock star!! What a W O M A N!! Love ALL you do for the birds! I miss all the different birds I had at my feeders in Illinois. Scripture talks so often about birds and they make me feel close to the Lord. Thanks for sharing your world with us Mary. God Bless You!
you have such a beautiful home, i’m in ohio as well and love to feed the birds in the winter, look forward to trying your recipe. thank you for sharing
Watching this video made me not feel so lonely in putting things away for the winter. 😊 I loved seeing all your bird feeders & the birds. You've inspired me once again Mary! Can't wait to see your new blog. Have a wonderful week!
@@mikayamada4919 They are stink bugs. :( We have them everywhere this year, even some in the house. :( Thanks for watching! I hope you have a great winter season too!
I loved watching this video ...winter preparation is so necessary and the plants that you cut back by the sidewalk -it's important to keep the snow from piling up on the walkways. Your yard is so beautiful and I love your new copper roofed bird feeder! I'm looking forward to the suet recipe!
Awesome job with Fall clean up. Love the new feeder, we also have raccoons and deer that ruin my feeders, so we designed and hung our feeders on something similar to a ZIP line..... that was 4 years ago, not a single problem. Keep your videos coming, love them.
My favorite channel! 🤗 Early snow and cold here in Wisconsin. Last week I did the exact same thing around my home. I love winter, so buttoning - up the outside for a rest is an enjoyable ritual. Have a wonderful weekend, friend. ❣️
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having to do so much clean up in the fall! Though you have a lot more than I do! Love the way you set up your bird feeders, looks great!
Lovely to watch the preparation for a new season! I so enjoy your videos, and this one coming after a long weekend makes heading back to a hectic commute of two buses and three trains much easier to anticipate 😁
You have to be in the country to get a lot of these birds. I live in the city near a busy street and it scares the birds when they hear the noise. They do like my cedar bushes in my small yard. We put out suet and seed in winter and they enjoy that especially in the cold weather.
You live in a very beautiful part of the world. We have very mild winters here in South Australia - (an allegedly temperate weather zone that exceeds 40degC frequently in summer) so we don't have to prepare for winter; It never occurred to me to remove the bug screens for winter before. It was sad seeing all of those healthy plants be tossed, but I guess just as many die here from the heat, even when we work hard to care for them.
You have such a great looking yard.... I love my bird feeders but we are plagued with an over abundance of squirrels.. so I got one of those metal feeders with the little leaver that closes off the food if a heavy animal gets on the feeder.. we have had it now for a few years and it truly is squirrel proof..!!! I am sure it would work on Raccoons also... just look for squirrel proof feeder on Amazon.... Thanks for taking us along on the clean up!!!
We had our first hard freeze here in Texas last night. It's so sad to see everything in the yard freeze. I find it depressing. 😥 But we do have to have our 4 seasons. Already looking forward to Spring..my favorite season of all! I love your videos! ❤❤❤
Great job Mary, getting the outside prepared for winter. It’s a lot of work. Your video’s are so enjoyable to watch 😊. Those birds are just beautiful, the stink bugs...not so much, LOL 😂. Great job!!! 👍🏻👍🏻😁
I really enjoyed this. No matter where we all live, we still have the same prepping for winter. I live in Salt Lake, we just winterized our outdoors too. Pretty late in the season this year. Your house and yard still looks so pretty though. I love your bird feeders and seeing all the birds come, how beautiful! Now time to get ready for the holidays!🎄🎄🎄
I love your idea for the mattress on your porch swing: an inflatable mattress! That's genius! The new feeder is very pretty. I love your little log suet/peanutbutter feeders. My son and his granpap made some of those log feeders last year for me. Sadly, we have voracious squirrels here. They ate all the peanutbutter, then destroyed the chewed through the logs thinking they could get to more I guess. And you are so right about having a bunch of branches near the feeders. I have a huge clematis near my feeders. I leave it alone all winter. The birds love to hide in there and fly in and out to get to the feeders. It provides them with warmth and camouflage.
American Grey Squirrels are horribly voracious & impossible to get rid of - they are considered vermin in the UK. Due to some rich explorer bringing them back on the boat from his expeditions in Victorian times, they are now responsible for taking over the feeding & breeding grounds across the UK of the much rarer Scottish Red Squirrel. The Greys also brought with them Squirrel Pox, which the Grey Squirrel has immunity to, but which has killed most of the UK Red Squirrel population, causing it to become endangered. Their big eyes make it impossible to hate them, though. Such damage we humans have caused by dragging so many animals across continents, away from their natural habitat & into the habitat of others.
@@joannecarroll5504 The squirrels in my area are called fox squirrels not American Grey Squirrels, although they are very similar. They are as you said "horribly voracious and impossible to get rid of". They eat everything and are randomly destructive. Meaning that if they run out of things to eat, they will just start gnawing on anything in their path.
Your videos are absolutely wonderful! I love the calm nature you have in your presentation of everything. It is so nice in this hectic world most of us live in. I know you weren't liking the shiny copper. I know there are ways to get the patina started. I don't know what they are, but I have seen it done before. If you do it, definitely video the "how to" for us. 😊❤️
Pretty sure i didn’t do any of this to get ready for winter 😬!!! I didn’t realize one could get this much done in one day! I need to step up my game!!!! Lol!
It's the stink bug invasion Everywhere! Nice to see you don't have Chicago weather! I want to do some spray painting, but it's a chilly 20° here. I love the springtime as you do 🌱💚
I've been eyeing a bird feeder just like yours and seeing it in you're landscape has convinced me to go ahead and purchase one. We don't have as severe winters here in Texas but I do need to do some work to get ready, thanks for another great video. Oh and I just recieved you beautiful book and am going over every bit of it, love it !
Wow I had no idea you folks in Ohio had to do so much clean up for the cold weather. I live In California and I wish we got snow like you and rain, you get sick of, (what people say the good weather here). You really want four season sometimes.
No....I have lived all over the states...I'm a california girl, stuck in or. .....I don't mind the rain, ever!!! Snow sucks...truly....the cold, No THANK YOU!!! it's good in summer since it doesn't get as hot as so. ca....can get to 100 though...for about a week.... NOTHING beats ca. weather!!!!! 🌴
Mary, your videos are inspiring. You spark creativity and the desire for peaceful beautiful natural living. Which takes work, another element you show and, in fact, seem to embrace. You are teaching and modeling gently, thank you. I do have a couple of questions. Do you simply trash the plants you pulled from pots and boxes or do you use them in some way? (I don't know much about plants.) And also, do you feed squirrels as well as birds?
