HOW TO MAKE TABLE CLOTH AND TABLE RUNNERS STEP BY STEP
* Determine the length of Table Cloth. This will depend on the size of your table.
-For full a full length table cloth - multiply the height measurement
x2, then add the width measurement to that number, plus 1.
Our banquet table was 30" wide and 29" tall 29"x2+30"+1= 89"
Do the same equation for the length.
Our banquet table is 72" long and 29 tall 29”x2+72"+1=131"
So our fabric dimension for the base layer is 88” x 130”
Because this is the base layer and will be mostly covered by the
table cloth we decided to keep this layer simple. This also
significantly kept our cost down. We bought our Burlap table
cloth from Amazon.com amzn.to/2fA4NHV Only $26.00!
-The mid length table cloth is your preference. We wanted the
table cloth to fall over the edge of the table by about a foot. So we
measured the width and multiplied that by 24inches plus 1.
12” x 2 + 30”+1"= 55”
Length
12" x 2 + 72" + 1 = 97"
-For the Table Runners again this is preference. There are no rules
this one. Have fun with this one. We used our table runners in a no
traditional way and crossed three of the width rather than one
runner down the length of the able. Since tables come in all sized
the dimensions will vary greatly.
To lay across the width of our table and hang over about 2.5 ft our
table runners measured 16.5" wide x 60" Long.
*Use a straight edge such as a Large Tsquare and a water soluble pencil to mark you fabric dimensions. Then use scissors to cut fabric to desired dimensions. A perfect edge is not required.
*Fold the edge of your fabric in 1/2" and iron to create a fold. This fold will act as a guide when you apply the peel & stick.
*Run iron again over about a 12inch section-This will warm the fabric and help the peel & stick adhere to the fabric easier.
*lay peel & stick in the heated area of the fold, and peel the paper backing off of the top.
*Press the fabric fold down to bond with peel & stick.
*Repeat this in 6"to12" sections. The peel & stick is much easier to work with in small sections.
