I was 18 when Gilmore Girls came out and just like everyone else, I was obsessed! Lorelai was it for me! I remember telling my parents I wanted to go run an Inn and wear all the cute clothes! Now that I’m older, I’ve tuned in to a few episodes on Netflix and I’m like wow have I changed lol. There are episodes I still enjoy but overall the love and cozy vibes are no longer there. Great TBR! I listened to The Spellshop. It was my first cozy fantasy book and it’s just that, cozy. It’s a cute and whimsical story and if you get to it, I hope you like it! Happy Fall 🍁🍁🍁

I was 16(40 now😫)when Gilmore girls came out and I remember watching the premiere. It will always be one of my favorite shows but I agree with you in that as you get older, you see things differently and start relating to other characters more.

I agree with you and others in the comments about Gilmore Girls. I love the cozy vibes of the town, Luke's Diner, etc. But as I have gotten older my views on the show have changed. I didn't watch any of the show until way after it had been on. I actually borrowed the series on dvd from a friend. (I am now 51)

I loved T. Kingfisher’s Thornhedge (a dark retelling of Sleeping Beauty). It’s a novella so it’s nice and short but it still gives you a great sample of her writing.😀

I can say with complete certainty that you would love T. Kingfisher!! I can especially recommend her horror books The Hollow Places, The Twisted Ones and A House with Good Bones. As a huge fan of Grady Hendrix I feel like T. Kingfisher is really similar with the type of horror/comedy trope. I would love to see you review one of her books!

I like that the characters have flaws in gilmore girls! I like that there is a lot of messy relationships and that the characters feel more real because of their flaws. I think it adds more complexity than everyone being in the right. I first watched it as an adult though so I never fully loved everyone like you are talking about so maybe that has impacted my experience

Special needs mom here and I feel you on that! If you’re interested in T. Kingfisher might I suggest Nettle and Bone! It’s a short book but if you want the fall cozy fantasy vibes, she is it!

I'm reading T Kingfisher's Nettle and Bones for fall. I hear it's good🤔? Thank you for listing all the books in the Description box. I greatly appreciate all the work it takes to do it. Thank you for introducing me to My Vampire Plus One and How To Help A Hungry Werewolf. Oh the J Penner book Baking and Magic is a 3 book series. I also checked out book 2 about a Librarian, her meddlesome family, and a mischievous dragon🤔? Happy Fall 🍁 Reading! 🍎📚🍎

I’m excited to see what you think of the vampire books! I just read The Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking by T. Kingfisher with my book club last month and I liked it! It’s YA, but it’s cute and cozy!

Because you don’t have ENOUGH TBR books 😅😂 here’s another: a wizards guide to defensive baking, by T Kingfisher. It’s a fantasy book that follows a girl who brings the things she bakes to life…and she has to use her magic to fight in a war to save a kingdom…it’s hilarious and so darn cute!!!

Bakers & Magic such a cozy read. The Kiss Curse also a good read and Butcher and Blackbird wasn't actually that scary parts are maybe a little disturbing.

I'm The Witching Hour by Anne Rice. I feel like that should take me through October. I'm also reading the Court of Mist & Fury. Cujo, by Stephen King. I need a fee historical romances to balance it out.

We have similar book tastes and I love T. kingfisher! She has a great writing style and a sense of humor. Here are some recs that can be read as standalones: For a cozy funny fantasy romance read Swordheart. (My fave) For a horror that’s a little bit creepy but do-able, read A House with Good Bones. (I’m a chicken and it was fine for me) For a Fantasy that’s a little bit dark but still retained her humor read Nettle and Bone. I haven’t read A Sorcerer Comes to Call yet, but I’m excited for it!

You should try to listen to the chunky books on audio. It’s so much less intimidating and it works for me. I listen while I cook, do laundry, dishes, drive etc. Great TBR!

I started to read Phantasma but had to put it down... it was a little to gory for me with descriptions of funeral scenes in the beginning... author's writing was excellent but too triggering for me.

I read How to Help a Hungry Werewolf and Given Our History both with NetGalley. I did enjoy them both, don't specifically remember Given our History being fallish except that it's the beginning of the school year.
