How long is it? Always thought it looks like a beautiful game but hopefully it's not too short. A good 6+ hours would be nice.

My first beginning to end playthrough took about 16 hours over two days, and early testers got similar times, but it really depends on your play style and how much side stuff you go for (I'm one of the three devs!) There is a full walkthrough run on RU-vid that runs 8.5 hours, though it goes pretty quick through dialogue and cutscenes and I'm not sure how much it's edited.

Some indie titles are mentioned as having 8 bit graphics but are usually more 16 bit or later, but this game really does look like it came right out of the late 80s. Pretty cool.

Try these kinds of games with reshade, you can add crt scanlines and effects. It looks so good on shovelknight.

That sounds awesome, is there a specific preset you recommend?

@@Mycoscopic Use the two packs that are selected by default, then down the list a bit there is one called rsretroarch or something like that. Those 3 you should find one. You can edit the parameters to remove the blur and other effects and it will save your settings. I use these, but I have an old laptop with washed out colors, so it might be different for you. Curves FakeHDR Levels These 3 are for colors and contrast, looks 100% better for me but if you have a good monitor probly not needed. CRTFakeLottes. In the parameters you can change the warping and other settings if you don't like it. This is usually the one I go with. Turn the shadow mask to 2. CRTFrutBunn - This one I turn down the blur effect and it's super clean. There are a lot of good ones just experiement, especially with the scaling stuff, sometimes a filter will look pretty bad, but if you change a parameter to have an even scaling or size it will look drastically different. It's amazing on blasphemous, shovelknight, athenian Rhapsody, undertale, cross blitz, binding of isaac etc basically any pixel art game. It really takes it to the next level.

@@Mycoscopic Also forgot to mention, sometimes it can cut the fps down to 30, try reslecting the order or turn the scanline shader on and off and it should go back to 60, it's a bug or something. Once you get it set up it will automatically load those settings. When you install it for the game, make sure you pick the correct api, 99% of the time the direct x 11 is the one you need. If unsure, there is a tooltip you can click on when you're selecting the api that will take you to a website you can find out what a specific game uses. If it doesn't load up when you start the game, this is probably why, just reinstall it on the game. If it doesn't show up on the game list obviously just find the main game exe and you're good to go.

@@Pax_Mayn3 oh, gotcha, thanks! We are stuck with DirectX9.0c for Fallen Leaf unfortunately (I'm one of the 3 devs). I've used Reshade before for Kenshi, if I get a chance to try it with Fallen Leaf I can try to set up a good Preset for it!

This catched my interest because of the gorgeous art style and Mega Man inspired mechanics, but I found the level design in the demo so boring and bland. did they romp it up for the full game?

Depending on when you played the demo (which evolved over time in response to feedback), the opening levels were tweaked a little bit including some more density. Especially if you played before Leaf was given extra mobility (dash), then there are some changes, yeah. (Dev here)
