Man I screwed up the embargo on this sorry folks. No coverage after a particular event, but you COULD do reviews earlier. These things sometimes are weird. Summary. Some ok stuff here but it ultimately needed a ton of time to cook.

I like how you gave smaller games like Children of Zodiac and Fallen Legion a chance and reviewed them. Not many large sites even have review for the aforementioned. Keep up, ACG. I stopped watching IGN/GameStop/AngryJoe because of your reviews.

Im getting a Legend of Mana/Valkrie Profile vibe from this. But those two games had great stories/writing. I like how slowly game devs are delving deeper into all the rpg types. Im still praying for an rpg that adopts GRANDIA'S combat system.

In terms of graphics style, this game copies Odin Sphere and Dragon's Crown. There is a bit of a Valkyrie Profile and Legend of Mana vibe going on with this game as well. Unfortunately, its not as good as the games that I just mentioned. I don't know how you do it Karak but I am really impressed. You've reviewed 4 games in 48 hours, which is way more than anyone else on RU-vid. Much respect to you my friend. I appreciate your honest and detailed reviews!

I was really interested in this game. It had the looks of a Vanillaware game with the gameplay of Valkyrie Profile and two separate stories if you have a Vita and PS4. I almost pre-ordered the game since it was like $5 cheaper but decided to wait to see if you'd review it. I'm glad I did because the way you described the gameplay it would have left me frustrated. Great review and thank you.

That part about faulty presentation of information to the player is spot on. You can get bloody nystagmus from trying to gauge your current mana, checking whether you need to heal, making sure you still have attack charges, and then attempting to perfect block the attack animation that happened two seconds ago. And what's the point of building the game around perfect blocking when you can only perfect block ONE attack. If enemies attack you in a chain, you perfect block the first attack and eat all the rest of them.

Generic name generated ran out of "war" and "shadow" after LoTR: Shadow of War was announced....

It's not bad, it's not the best, but it is a nice little game to pass the time. I have been having trouble with getting the blocks right it literally does have to be exact for the most part :( The story is interesting, it's almost like you are playing as the villains. It reminds me a lot of Grand Kingdom in a way but I think Grand Kingdom was better.

Game seriously reminds me of Grand Kingdom and Valkyrie Profile.. Especially with the combat system. Mixed with Vanillaware style graphics.. too bad it didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped But all is well.. Sundered and Pyre both come out next week. Indie goldmine incoming!!!

I appreciate this. I saw it on the PSN store on sale and I've kind of been eyeing it and leaving it. Today NIS announced a limited edition and I'm usually a sucker for those. Now I know to save my money.

I haven't played the game, but I genuinely think the game looks good. I really like the artstyle, the music that you displayed was amazing and even the gameplay seemed simple yet fun. Its probably not very good, like you said, buy I'm still tempted to buy it myself. Even if it turns out to be bad, I think there's potential for a great gem for a sequel once they wash the grime off this one. EDIT: Eh nevermind its digital only, so skip...

i, ve been playing the game since yesterday, and let me tellyou that i preordered it for 15.99 was a very good price for what you get, intense battles and beutiful artwork, i can easily suggest this game to anyone, some times ifeel like this kind or reviews tell what the game is not instead of reviewing what the game does acomplish.

I downloaded it today and im content with my $15 purchase for two games. Its veryyyyy sluggish on psvita tho omg it freezes and slogs often so i hope they patch it. Console version works fine. Combats fun but hectic and managing all of your guys is a bit mind frazzling. Very much like valkyrie pofile. Id say worth the money

Wow this is one huge valkyrie profile ripoff.

The Vita version is so much worse, with massive slowdowns and even resets some progress. A patch is out but idk if it's fixed.

This is a personal thing to me but man, I dislike this kind of animation intensely. It's the South Park way of drawing whole characters then having parts of them rotate, squash and stretch to approximate new poses. Overall there is probably a shit tonne of art that's gone into make this but i'm just left cold and irritated how bad it looks. You see this technique everywhere now. Especially on intro's to games where the developers didn't have the cash for a full on 3D intro but still wanted to get as close to that as possible. There is software now where you can just dial all this in with some images and boom, you have a character rigged and ready to go taking a lot of the work out of animating but that strips out what makes 2D animation so brilliant. So for me it wouldn't matter how great the game is mechanically, I just could not play it. Ps. I'm an animation student so probably in a tiny minority that thinks this. I would add I love pixel art animation where people put the time into making tiny sprites. That can be utterly glorious. It also looks to me like they needed more art. Things like major new poses so when characters are hurt they can use that new piece of art so you can see it rather than just flashing the character with colour which is bizarre and maybe that was out of the budget to do all that smoothly but I wonder how many people will be put off enough that in the end, it really might have been worth it.

This game looks like a shitty free to play mobile game. Not for me...
