A really good run through and great weathering dude! I'm glad someone did a comparison to the 89 as this was designed with it origionally being Jaro Tapal origionally. Really clear vid, I'm very happy you like the hilt minus the couple 1-off set up things. Thank you 👊
Oh man I love the hilt. I want one now lol. The emitter I figured out better. That was on me. And the tiny things I mentioned are by no means a problem at all. Just something I wanted Cooper to be mindful of. I got it set it and ready to go but just wanted whoever installs this to know what I did. I might be trying to design a chassis it for it soon so I am very much looking forward to that. Y'all did a great job ✊
For the shrouds on the survivor the factory missed tolerance on the emitter piece just a bit, shane had replacements come in, but what I did was put a piece of electrical tape under the slots and it pretty much got rid of the wobble
I have the 89sabers V2. I got it back when they would sell out in literally 90 seconds any time a seller had them for sale. I'm happy I got it but at the same time I kinda wish I didn't because the V3 fixed the only thing that bothers me about the V2. The visible screws on the emitter plates. I'm considering putting some UV resin in the screw hole and try to sand it flush and put some chrome paint just to try blending those screws with the rest of the plates. They will always be visible but at least they wouldn't catch the eye as easily.
Thanks for the review! I did have replacement blade holders made that helped reduce the initial wobble issue with the shrouds(I don't think I had sent Cooper his yet) The copper neck ring can be manually clocked to any orientation if the user prefers the blade retention screw on the other side, just requires a bit of adjusting the ring :)
Ahh got ya. Yeah I was just pointing out things for him to be mindful of. And I did figure those set screw purposes out today lol. Wish I said it in the video. Overall really enjoy the hilt. Y’all did a great job.
Those are awesome Lightsabers. Very interesting video. How did you exactly remove the chrome/shine of Jimmy's saber? What chemicals did you use? Thank you very much!
The jimmy sabers junk was very nice to weather. I didn't need to break down anything for it and I did the same weathering weathering process as my weathering with aluminum black tutorial on this channel.
No that will leave a bunch of nasty sanding marks. Just take some sandpaper to it. Like 220 and then remove the paint. Then use a fine grit to smooth it back out.
