Viewer discretion is advised.
A lack of planning and adequate supervision, and failure to recognize, evaluate, and control hazards-any or all of these can contribute to faller fatalities and serious injuries. This video shows what can happen in these situations, and how everyone is responsible for faller safety.
This video does not represent the forest industry as a whole or the individuals or companies involved in the production. Please also note that the term "faller" is commonly used in B.C. and other areas in the Pacific Northwest.

Yep. Shortcuts are not a great thing in the bush. If we are honest as tree fellers we have all taken them. Best wishes and respect to anyone who does this job for a living.

Interesting. I have cut a few trees here and there. It's scary when it falls. You can't go back.

Really need some sort of backup income plan. 2-3 alternates when possible. Have had at least 7 different occupations before retiring with pension, then added one more as part time. Start on knees, then prayerfully advance as the clouds open up. Never go it alone.
