Don't feel too bad for the guy with the sign. Years later, he got himself a HUD loan to take part in a real estate scam in The Sopranos. So it all worked out. He eventually became "economically viable".
That link between the two. That "fellow man, one in the same, I will not forget you. That could have been me. I will avenge you!" link between the two is established so well in such a brief scene. They're both seeing themselves and they know it.
Watch this movie when I was 17 now I am 41 Wow , time flys. Love this movie so much, a lot of this scenes stayed in my head 4 ever , the Hamburger scene crappy burgers and the construction scene, I am a Truck Driver and everytime I see a Construction site I think about the movie Lol.
It would have been a nice touch to see the Mike Douglas character go into the Golden State Savings and Loan with the "Economically Not Viable" man and confront the loan officer manager and get in cash the full amount of the loan amount request at gun point and sign the generic loan document to promise to repay the loan amount as he promised to do. Send A chilling message to the financial services industry that we the people are sick of their collective crap !
At 0:10 I've must have seen this movie a hundred times and never noticed the inflatable ass in the background advertising Baby Got Back by Sir Mix-a-Lot.
@@ModMokkaMattiNo doubt. I read a lot about his career. A career musician from Seattle. He had a gift for incredible mixes. One of his top songs is a remixed Iron Man.
@@GavinJ37 he also guest starred in tv shows like medical show ER and Criminal Minds and was on Chicago Hope as Dr Dennis Hancock. Your right he was the terrorist Miller and almost gets killed by William Sadlers Colonel Stuart when he warns Miller “ You fail me again and the chamber won’t be empty.”
I subscribed because you went the “extra mile” the distance and well thought out transitions from the Actor’s themselves to the location and how’s it been updated- you even got us emotional. Now I know why my Cinema teacher in college, who highly disliked me and annoyed gave me a “C” in the class, but the Cinema award for the year. I had to pick a Director I liked and was heavily influenced by, a difficult task as Cage in his new movie knows there’s no such thing as a number one favorite; I finished with 17 typed pages, edited by two tutors with two different styles, and comparing three different, but in my opinion and apparently approved very close in signature. I bet our views on religion to spiritual, gender to sex, and color to what color in ideas to politics; however, the teacher and I did not and he still awarded me with what I learned, accomplished, and through his teachings as well as patients succeeded in completing for the next lesson. Just not from him as he retired after 33 years and telling complete first year college strangers and almost 40 at the time,”this was the best paper I’ve ever read.” Then he ninja out and it’s been few years now- now I’m just getting his word’s and I’m writing two different books with the same style and it’s free felling rather than irritating. Great transitions and very good in bringing us up to date as well as seeing the real picture today- color or no color most of us are economical slaves. 🌈God Bless🙏 to “whoever” believes.
I actually went to this place purely by co-incidence. I know it's in LA, just don't remember where. I had just seen the movie, and just happened to be in the area. Weird.
No, you are wrong, it really hasn't. I drive right by this place on my way to work all the time. I pick up food at the El Pollo Loco which is still there. It basically looks the same. Oh, the surplus store is still there too, and looks pretty much the same, it didn't need much set dressing.
"A Man out of Time" in so many ways. This film gives a nod to the Dirty Harry character from 20 years earlier. Clean cut white man, lives and plays by "The Rules", has always a team player, gone the extra distance.... until today. He is "Going out of Business" at 2:20 seconds can be seen behind M.D. Everything must go! Has humanity gotten better, more kind, gentle or tolerant of others. Just the opposite. All the fund raisers for justice, have brought no more justice. No calls for peace have delivered the goods. In fact, in just 30 years we have descended further into madness. BUT, we should remember...evil knows NO skin color and Love knows NO boundries. Fill in the blank if you remember "Things that Make you go _______?
Gang land hill location, look for Vista Hermosa Natural Park in Los Angeles, 1st Street, N. Toluca, Colton Street, N. Edgeware. Google maps, there are a couple of blue dots, put yourself in the park, and compare the skyline view.
Only if you're a low life thief or desperate would you get down on your knees on broken glass to steal $20-$30 worth of coins that don't belong to you.
@@riproar11 Sgt. Bat Guano did just that - stole coins from the Coca-Cola Company, so that Group Captain Lionel Mandrake could make a Station to Station telephone call to POTUS Merkin Muffley during an international crisis.
1: 50 . . . they told me I was not "economically viable". Excuse me sir, they give you a loan? How'd your loan work out? He must be the American Dream. There's a man with a smile on his face. He looks like a happy customer.
I went to the other phone booth scene where the gang members shoot at him, but that block was demolished. I also went on Google Earth to see the Korean store, it appeared that it had been replaced by a house, I'll have to drive by there just to re-confirm. That convenience store is my favorite scene and that was definitely the one I wanted to do.
Kristian Konspiracy Thanks bro. Shame about the Korean store. Would have loved to have seen it (although I'm guessing the inside was probably a set). What about the area where D fens is set upon by the gang members. I once heard a rumour that it is now a public park

Noticed there is no movement on the guys mouth when he says what, notice the bicyclist falls down twice , on the pay phone scene. They seriously messed it up
Keep in mind this movie took place during the year 1993 so if it was currently 2017 in your video so that would be a 24 year difference so just cause all this Shit was in the movie in 1993 doesn't mean they will still be around now a days
This has to be that one movie I just have got to see! But only because of the star actor! The suppprt acting in this movie is terrible! The guy who wants his breifcase - cant act! Guy who wants telephone- can't act! Nazi guy - cant act! Black guy at bank - at least he could act! Main actor - brilliant acting!!
