This car, in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful cars ever made. Couple that with the unequal length headers giving that glorious sound and it makes for a great driving experience!
Be patient and a Spec B pallet should pop up! I was told "good luck on finding that", but after a few months, one showed up. Got the 6 speed, R180, CVs, driveshaft, rear brakes, and subframe for around $3800 shipped. It all bolted right in! I think the only real challenge I came across was getting the cruise to work. Ended up reversing the polarity of the neutral safety switch and that fixed it. Oh, and do yourself a favor. When you install it, swap out ALL mounts and bushings for poly or Group N stuff. Unbelievable difference in how the car feels and shifts.
That’s exactly what I’m hoping for! Or if I find a good parts car I could buy and part out the rest. Haha either way, but definitely will go with a spec b 6 speed for the bolt on nature of it.
I did Koni Yellows with H&R lowering springs when my stock struts started to show age. No regrets there, major upgrade in handling and takes pot holes alright too, it wasn't too pricey either. I'm sure coil overs are very nice but for the price and durability I don't think it makes sense on a daily driver Legacy GT. Also I got Nameless with the 3" mufflers (plus downpipe and a bunch of bolt ons)... the sound is incredible. Pops and burbles like an Alfa Romeo or some other rediculous kind of car. I just pass traffic cops easy on the gas. Your car already sounds pretty good though I must say. Anyway bro I'm at 147,000 miles on mine, original block, VF52 and clocking 325wtq/349whp. I feel you on falling in love with the car again. Nothing's gotten rusty and still looks like a gem on the road, I hope you do the short block and keep her rolling. I think I'll just see how far my EJ255 wants to go on 3k Motul oil changes and take it from there, hopefully I got another few years out of this engine. Runs like a Swiss clock right now though.
Nice! The strut and spring combo is definitely the move for the daily driver. When I start making the changes mentioned in this video to the LGT it will definitely become to weekend toy. I love the Nameless system, my brothers WRX has the same setup with the 3" mufflers and it really does sound incredible. If I go with the JDM bumper, my thought is to switch to the shorter sedan fitment from Nameless to fit with the shorter rear bumper. Do you experience much drone with your system? I'm not too far behind you, just rolled over 136K miles this week. And it really does look great rolling down the road, it certainly doesn't look like a 15 year old car and I just haven't seen anything quite like it built since. I'll definitely be rebuilding the engine one of these days, just a matter of time.
@@avengednick Change the stock Up-pipe right away! That stupid cat in the stock one is terrible and will at best cost you a turbo and at worst a turbo and engine. I have an 05 Gt Wagon.
@@oddyseus91 Haha don't worry, the factory up-pipe is long gone. I have a VF52 on the car with a Grimmspeed uppipe an external wastegate among other mods. She's making 309/333 to the wheels.
@@avengednick I have similar mod list going in mine fairly soon. I am hoping it holds up. I have an 18G turbo not the vf52 which if i remember correctly is slighly bigger than the vf52. We shall see if the block holds up. I should have gone with a FMIC but got a great deal on a Grimmspeed so I went with that.
Got an 05 in the same color, was going to go with the VHK caliper paint (yellow) since im running the BRZ 17 5x100 wheel (part no# 28111CA060), either way love the car and keep it up

It's a good feeling! I can't see myself every selling this car, it just has so much sentimental value at this point. Might as well spend some more money on it haha
Ahh yes! LGT content son! Love the plans man! As far as the caliper goes, I think a lime green caliper with carbon/black lettering, would look dope AF on your color. I'm honestly leaning towards bags, like you said with it being a daily driver the ability to adjust ride height sounds super appealing, especially consider how trashed some LA roads are. Plus I'm super curious about how they perform. I've ridden in a handful of cars for short periods of time with quality air set ups and was impressed but would love to experience it in my own car.

If money was no object, I'd totally swap to the facelift (Rev DF) JDM front end, but it's about $1,500 for just the parts and I'd rather focus on other parts of the build at the moment. But I totally agree, love the sharper lines.
I’m looking into a complete 08-09 front end swap for my legacy wagon I don’t think they ever made them in the us so it will be one of a kind I found someone parting one out can get fenders bumper hood and headlights for $175

I’d maybe suggest Work Emotions if you wanted a different wheel, but they’re super spendy - they’re my dream wheel. I have a set of 17” RSF5s on my wagon if you’d like an idea of what those look like.
Is the Greddy the only wagon specific exhaust readily available? I saw some a guy on the forums that put a Q300 on his wagon and use some slip on tips from Burger Motorsports to get the fitment right and cut down on drone. I just want a subtle low subie rumble, nothing loud.. I have the same car.
It’s one of them, however I believe it’s been discontinued. I know Nameless still makes a wagon specific fitment. But any sedan exhaust will fit, it just sits tucked under the bumper so you’d want to have the tips extended on any of those.

Have to agree, the previous generation of STI before the face lift they just did was the last true enthusiast car I think we'll see from Subaru. I often think about how cool it would have been to walk onto a Subaru dealership in 05 and seeing the STI, WRX, LGT, OBXT, FXT, that must have been a sight!

There’s definitely a fine line! I’ve got a pretty good idea of the things I’d like to change to achieve better performance and change the look without going too far.
I might actually be selling them on the cheap in the near future, tire shop damaged the paint on them but they can easily be fixed with a respray/powdercoat
go and drive a 30 yo datsun and then jump into the subaru = me two - 6 years and the drove an older car dam so garbage = subaru`s are really good cars and respond to tuning and any up-grades are well worth it = when it wears out = UP-GRADE PARTS !
Exactly! I really love this damn car. Is it the fastest, best handling car out there? Nope. But it’s such a well-balanced and fun to drive car with a few upgrades. And that’s always been my motto for replacing parts.
