i suggest you check out: - UR (the busan performance where she's wearing that beautiful peach pink dress) - into the unknown (live in the unseen concert in seoul) - 'S concert in seoul (literally any song there but esp time lapse) - rain (christmas ver, concert in seoul) - voice (from the signal concert) - rescue me - the ost for the game gran saga her discography is one of the best. i hope you get to explore that too esp the unseen deluxe version. enjoy~

Also Taeyeon is definitely the best vocalist in Girls' Generation, but that group was really on another level vocally. The vocal line was unparalleled, with Taeyeon of course, but also Seohyun, Jessica, Tiffany, and Sunny. We know that out of the bigger companies, SM has consistently done the best job at training their idols vocally, but GG was really exceptional. Personally I can only compare them to groups like MMM, Brown Eyed Girls, or EXO in that respect.

Taeyeon is indeed not just a great vocalist she only wrote her debut song I but all her songs are so sincere and emotional and in someway healing! i can never stress enough how taeyeon’s music effects me im not even a girls generation or taeyeon’s stan i just really enjoy her music her albums are incredible, pretty much every taeyeon song has a personal meaning to me lol and im excited for her new comeback 🤍

The idea that she got fame off him is so ridiculous, it’s not even worth discussing. SNSD were untouchable in 2014, Taeyeon had the biggest solo fandom among idols and EXO were a rising group. SM was literally shoving them into SNSD/TTS’ mvs to promote. EXO got huge, and deservingly so, Baek is very popular individually and a huge seller. But none of that was yet a reality when that dating scandal happened. She was a much bigger deal than him at the time. Also seeing exo-l brag about her connection to him feels kinda weird. Not saying any of you guys were responsible for what happened back then but you know what your fandom did to her. It was the ugliest reaction to dating news in kpop. She’s been through hell, is still recovering from depression and some of the uglies from your fandom are still watching her every move and jumping her every chance they get. She has no peace even 6 years after that brief scandal. But the moment someone appreciates her talent you all appear and present her as no more than BBH’s trophy. Nothing against him, EXO or majority of exo-l fandom, but it just feels weird and wrong.

@@ent2263 im an exol and i find it so sick that exols do the most trying to bring up that relationship everywhere when it was such a terrible time for them both (again especially taeyeon) and it was (mostly) the fault of exols, and yeah taeyeon was just objectively a far bigger deal than baekhyun at the time, he rose to popularity after their split.

Totally agree, as an EXO L and hardcore fan of Taeyeon I think it’s pure jealousy and foolishness from the ones that state that. I can’t understand how they could hate her. As a Baekhyun biased I was totally enchanted that a legendary QUEEN like her dated my bias but who you date doesn’t define you or your career, even less when you are in such a respected and professional position like Taeyeon. Dumb people ignoring history events just make themselves look stupid. Let’s keep cheering and supporting their solo careers without bringing now irrelevant things of the past.

taeyeon not only is a great artist, the way she connects and interacts with her fans is honestly on another level. she randomly just goes to ig live (there were times when it was several times a week) and she would just talk with fans for HOURS. her ig lives often go viral in korea because theyre so unfiltered and personal. she also makes fans handmade bracelts, she bakes for them and does so many things beyond what is expected of her. she even fought with SM about her concert in the Philippines. SM didnt want her to go, but taeyeon insisted since fans were asking for it. In the end, the concert organizers in the PH confirmed that it was taeyeon and her team who directly arranged for the PH stop, with SM hardly being involved because they'd rather not. in all my years in kpop, i've never stanned anyone who's THIS good at appreciating their fanbase and it makes me love her even more.

What I love about Taeyeon is that you can clearly see her musical style and preference but at the same time she always surprises with her new releases. I think at this point she's the artist with my favorite discography ever. Like you said she always delivers a story and a music critique said this about her back then when she debuted "she sings like she has been divorced 7 times". I love love Avril Lavigne as well btw :D I think you'll like her entire concert btw. Check out her live version of Voice (really sounds like a song young Kelly Clarkson would sing), Blue and Four Seasons, All Night Long, UR and her cover of When We Were Young by Adele (she went busking through Europe a year ago and has a lot of amazing live songs from that trip). One of my favorite songs of her is "If". It's one of her first solo songs back when she was still a baby artist and it's one of the most popular OST's in SK. Taeyeon is the singer who could deliver the perfect emotion of song. Be carefull, she really can play with your emotion, she hit really hard If you need more live Taeyeon, you can watch Begin Again. She went to Berlin and Amsterdam with the crew and busking there. This series will cure any kind of anxiety. I cried a lot when watch this show

Taeyeon being "a little bit of everything I love" is a perfect description. She draws you in with her voice and performance. She's versatile, dances as well, and not to mention she's a big DORK lol Taeyeon Tuesday's should be a thing! And you should definitely revisit SNSD and their subunits. U R by Taeng is one of the most emotional songs that I've listened to - you should definetly check it out! I would reccomend the one from the Butterly Kiss in Busan, it's a low quality fancam, so I would understand if you would prefer the DVD ones, but her voice is so raw there and she looks absolutely stunning.

taeyeon is a super talented vocalist and an iconic idol all-around! i love her music solos and group included. i think you'd enjoy the SNSD subunit TTS (a vocal unit who perform quite demanding and challenging songs). and uh can people please stop mentioning baekhyun? they are well developed artists and idols separate from one another. they haven't been together for years and people need to let go of that relationship like they both have.

Girls Generation has some amazing vocal performances. Taeyeon is clearly the top but their vocal line is solid so I urge you to listen to some ballads or lives of them because they will amaze you. She's a story teller.. Indeed!!! When she did a busking at Germany, she sang a song there that made the audience cry, even they didn't actually understand the lyrics coz technically it's a korean language. I dont think the "comparison" is bad. I mean, I did that too when I first joined KPOP. You were just referencing and not really comparing them anyway. Thanks for reacting to my ultimate bias again, Austin! She definitely have that story teller vibe when singing. She did some song writing before but she prefer singing songs that she didn't write. Taeyeon said that she is already very sensitive in showing and expressing her ideas, emotions and thoughts to her songs. With this, she prefers to keep her writing skills to herself as she wants to keep her thoughts personal. She mentioned: "I’m careful about expressing my emotions. Taeyeon is really the role model of every kpop vocalist out there whenever she released a song idols are covering her song in their ig lives, vlive or any livestream platform even if it just an OST in a drama or b-side tracks. Every vocalist inspire to sing like Taeyeon. Idols turned to being a fanboy/fangirl everytime Taeyeon released a song. My personal favorite of Taeyeon's song is 1. She has a beautiful voice that sounds so delicate and entricate. Taeyeon will always have. A special place in my heart. Its not bad to compare artists! They are both gorgeous singers. Her singing live is a beautiful experience. I'm still hoping she comes to the states so I can go to her concert. ♡♡♡ I've always had this deep feeling that shes like the Korean Taylor Swift (without the dating scandals). Her songs just have that nice voice thats so calming to listen to. She is still my bias in SNSD & all her new songs are incredible. She just posted a new video on SM page for Sorrow live studio version. Its really pretty.

YES! YES! YES! 💯❤ I keep on throwing my fist in the air during the entire reaction.. She is a versatile singer. And I agree when you mentioned that she is a story-teller. Her voice is just full of emotions. You can watch a compilation of her 12 Best Emotional singing - concert edition. She recently released a studio live version of her Japanese song: "Sorrow". She didn't belt high notes on this song but her vocal control is just amazing and superb! 👍🏻 Or you can check her Into The Unknown (Frozen II OST) and Ahead of Destiny (Gran Saga OST). Better yet you can do an album listening for her 2 full albums: My Voice (Deluxe Edition) and Purpose (Repackage)! No need to apologize. It is better late than never! Glad you finally discovered (just) the tip of the iceberg. More to come! You'll never get bored once you go through her discography. Taeyeon is a whole religion.

You're right, Taeyeon is an excellent storyteller. She sings with is much emotion. If you want to see more of her singing, the one I would recommend to every new fan getting into Taeyeon is to watch her "Top 12 most emotional singing (concert)" video. It's a great intro video because you get to see a little bit about what she can do as a vocalist and it teases you with her songs so you come back to watch the full songs. And just to say it right now, her MVs are great, but her lives sound 1000% better. At least that's what every fan who has gone to her concert says. Her live concerts were so lit 🔥 Like I was not a hardcore fan before. I just knew her title track but when I watched some clips of her concerts like I got so attach with her voice. that I really bought 3 of her albums to check her b-side tracks (Something New, My Voice and Purpose).
