Thank you, so wonderful! When she mentions the desire & tendency of many seekers to go from flower to flower without delving to the depths of the stem of a tradition, it connected for me to last episode about Jewish meditation and the significant point that meditation in Judaism tends to be about prophecy / help for the community. Meditation today tends to be seen as a method to attain a self-centred aim: better health, more productive, etc. it’s not a bad thing per se, but what I’m noticing more in the New Age community is this sense of spiritual materialism often spearheaded by narcissistic charismatic individuals co opting these ancient practices. And I think it’s precisely because many of the people in modern societies don’t have access to these deep wells of wisdom to get right to the root/stem/shoresh, which allows us to be tempted by an apparent flower without substance. Which is why these conversations with greatly wise sages whom know enough to be humble is so refreshing and such important work ❤
I do hope you have this amazing woman back on again. I have never heard of her, but already I want to read her books. She has that certain something that lights up a room when she talks Zohar and mysticism. I love that quality.
I appreciate how raw & organic these interviews are✨ the 15 seconds of silence @ 37:45 most ppl would edit out, but I think it atually adds so much depth to the conversation and invites the listener to pause with you. Especially in the fast paced world we live in + the screen to screen interactions, its not often we see that process of contemplation of a person engaging with their thoughts in front of another without just spurting words. I think many are afraid of that silence; so instead just say the first thing that comes to mind in order to fill that empty gap. But a pause like this shows how our thoughts are really another dimension of life.and that conversations we have are only a fraction of that vast world within our minds~
This was absolutely beautiful from start to finish and Dr Hellner-Eshed’s almost poetic language really resonates with me. When she spoke of the love of the life of learning it brought tears to my eyes. This conversation is, to use her metaphor, nectar for my consciousness and spirit; I just want to drink it up! Thanks to her and to Zevi and all the Seekers for making this possible!
Not an ordinary talk. It was not a discussion of the details of the Zohar or books. This was a talk about falling in love and burnishing your mind with many great intellects that wrestled with problems plaguing us today. Prof. Hellner-Eshed gives us an insight into the work of academic fascination. I say educational and not religious because, for many people going through the motions of religion are enough. Their interest ends there, which is fine. But for some, questions niggle us. The Zohar, of which I know nothing, attempts to discuss other ways of understanding biblical tests. Prof Hellner-Eshed makes you want to fall in love. Not many are lucky enough to challenge themselves with this encounter. But for those who want to brave this enchanted forest of new ideas: She says come and learn, challenge your thoughts. Prof. Hellner-Eshed says she wants to teach you, but you cannot make the proverbial horse lead to water drink. Thanks, Zevi, for this fantastic discussion. I want you to know I didn’t reply right off the cuff. I tried to listen repeatedly and absorb the discussion’s direction.
She should probably be introduced to Jonathan Pageau and look into how he is combining eastern Orthodoxy and fairy tales and art. it sounds like she is proposing a very parallel concept and might want to see how it could be actualized

Great interview Zevi! "How can it get into the hands of the musicians...?" (35:26)-as a musician who is working on the Bahir I so appreciate what the good professor said.
I love her concept of insufficiency. In my life, I have always felt the love of the realms. But the love is fleeting. It’s not always there. My quest for Hashem is like constantly searching for that lover that constantly flees away. 😢❤
Love is one. Love does not change. Love is constant. There are not different kinds of it. The only thing _is_ love. And It is nothing but everywhere. Please allow me to quote. "Love’s meaning is obscure to anyone who thinks that love can change. ²He does not see that changing love must be impossible. ³And thus he thinks that he can love at times, and hate at other times. ⁴He also thinks that love can be bestowed on one, and yet remain itself although it is withheld from others. ⁵To believe these things of love is not to understand it. ⁶If it could make such distinctions, it would have to judge between the righteous and the sinner, and perceive the Son of God in separate parts. 3. Love cannot judge. ²As it is one itself, it looks on all as one. ³Its meaning lies in oneness. ⁴And it must elude the mind that thinks of it as partial or in part. ⁵There is no love but God’s, and all of love is His. ⁶There is no other principle that rules where love is not. ⁷Love is a law without an opposite. ⁸Its wholeness is the power holding everything as one, the link between the Father and the Son which holds Them both forever as the same." ACIM There is only the Father's Love for His Creation, His One Son. All other expressions are imitations, counterfeits to It. Perhaps you mean by "love ", "a relationship". But there is only ONE relationship; the creation to it's Source. In other words, be not deceived. Those meant to cross your path will. And, there is a point at which the left and right, the female and male, the different and the same become merged within a being, and thus unity being achieved, a taste of the exaltation felt in romance is constantly felt. For, in you has the one relationship that is real been meet. If an other self crosses your path, let it be. If not, let it be still. I love you, whoever you are, wherever you are, whenever you are. Feel free to share your feedback.
We are worship YHVH and all other so-called gods are just Avatars of YaHaVaH and so are we. I do consider myself a Jewish Mystic, I embrace all forms of mysticism and honour all of Hashem's Avatars.
I protest. There is no word for davka in English. It is precisely in spite of. Or precisely to spite someone. Like a child rebelling is "ose davka", doing what she is doing "davka", to annoy, to spite.
