@@Tommonius Because he's been killed long time ago, that's why. The institute's modus operandi is very much "kill and replace." Once they've gathered what information they need from anyone who they intend to replace, there's no point of keeping them alive (prisoners take space and resources, after all). Institute terminal logs infact state that this is also their plan with Warwick farm once they've gathered enough data: to reclaim the synth and destroye any evidence.

Depending on how far you are in the game, Danse may not know he's a synth yet. Nick hates the Institute so knowing that's an Institute synth, Nick would hate him too.

"You try working alone for months on end with no support, see how easy it is." Uhh...my only support has been this dog who's only real use was to carry the junk I didn't want to carry, since I woke up, that was six months ago and I'm doing great. I found the Institute, Killed Cereal (Kellogg) their wet work mercenary, took down a Courser, killed countless Raiders, Super mutants, Gunners, Deathclaws and other wildlife. I walked the Freedom Trail alone, I even earned a modest rank in the Brotherhood of Steel, I'm also the General of the Minutemen who have now regained control of The Castle as well as liberated and continue to protect roughly 20 different settlements. I accomplished all of this by myself in six months, so forgive me if I judge you for being a "Crowning achievement" of the Institute.

Even as someone who sided with the Institute, I agree. This quest really made me sick. I mean, kind of in a good way, it tested the limits of my moral endurance and added drama to the story. But the companion's reactions are undercooked. I also wish I could have been more...vocal about my discomfort as the Sole Survivor.

At the bare minimum when you side with the institute, you should learn the justifications for why they replace people. But nope, you have the choice to destroy the institute without knowing why they do what they do. Or you join them, also never knowing why they do what they do.

he might not be the actual guy but he's a lot better for them then the original. the family mention how he use to drink quite a bit and all of a sudden he stopped. before I knew he was a synth, I actually thought he was a nice guy. I was surprised when I learnt he was.

Quantras well their dad may have been a drunk but he was their real dad. This synth may seem like a better father, but he is just an institute drone. His mission is farming, the better father part is just a cover. If the institute said to kill everyone, he probably would.

+PrettyTigerlilly Better or worse, I am still against the Institute. If we do bad things to achieve good results, we are still wrong. It's like you kill and rob people's money to give charity to some poor people, it's even more disgusting than just killing for money alone. I guess Mama Murphy is just right at some point - yes, the humanity is saved, but it is just only the humanity underground or every mankind? Or the world just ends like this: The Institute rules and every mankind in the Institute is seen the higher species, and those above ground are just their guinea pigs used for cruel experiments that the Institute call "for the greater good".

This is probably one of the only positive synth replacement stories. The guy who got replaced was an abusive jerk who rightfully got killed. The institute then had the replacement try out various new seeds for plants, a very noble goal

After 2 hours in, I noticed settlers and other NPC's are voiced by Garrus from Mass Effect. About as cool as seeing Matthew Mercer playing MacCready and Goku from DBZ playing Strong.
