This video covers the story of Vault 75, a Vault-Tec Vault found in Malden, Massachusetts in Fallout 4 Twitter: / gamingwithmaps Patreon: / icartographer
Our friend on hibernation, "TheNthApple" theorised that the vault kids were in fact the origins of The Gunners. Never confirmed but makes absolute sense. The main evidence is that The Gunners occupy Vault 75 and show enhanced combat prowess, likely from the eugenics programme. I remember hearing or reading elsewhere that they have their roots in the military but this is also unconfirmed as far as I am aware. An interesting theory and a hell of a vault. Great stuff.
Given it was the first I experienced, Vault 101 will always hold a special place in my heart. Can’t say I have a favorite, but I’ll never forget that first time experiencing Fallout
There are so many locations in Fallout 4 that seems to have had excellent writers and storytellers... up until the very end where everything just gets left off. Nothing to wrap up the story. Vault 75 is one of those. The fact of the matter is that there could be a race of basically "übermensch" descendants walking about. Beyond smarter than the rest, beyond stronger than the rest. Probably even beyond attractive given how deeply selective they were for every little attribute. They are their own race. Yet... we have no idea what happened to them outside speculation. It's the most egregious of storytelling mistakes. The game is so half cooked in many regards and Bethesda never showed any willingness to return to fix things that did not produce money. DLCs? For sure. But barely even bugfixing what was lacking or adding lore to existing worlds. It's a shame.. because it is otherwise a really good game. Writing has a lot of fluff of top, but when it comes down to the chocolate filling of the pastry, the very core.. it's often very disappointing.
