Possibly the largest Fallout 4 Settlement ever created on console. This Vault 88 settlement spans through nearly the entire buildable space in the Vault 88 cavern.
Jug is the most impressive non modded settlement builder I've seen. On the other end of the spectrum, EvilViking13 is the best modded settlement builder I've come across.
are you a civil engineer or architect? the way you see space and the ability to come up with ways to do the impossible is just remarkable. either that's your job or you're in the wrong career. lol
You know, there's an easier way to use the existing power. The power will travel through vault floors/walls. All you need to do is vault wall conduit to relay that power elsewhere.
your builds are truly awe inspiring. my building skills have seen a dramatic increase from watching your videos. your snapping tools are pure genius!.. thank you for these vids.
Watching this again. Jug, I would love to see some of your other creations since you haven't published much since the DLC. Such as what you've done in the way of Arenas, Contraptions, Far Harbor Settlements, Mechanist's Lair, etc.
Awesome im going to be taking some of what you have done here when i come to building my Vault 88 up at this moment in time im currently working on building up the castle. love the videos and tips/tricks thanks
I wish you could upload this as a mod, or something similar but empty. Just the walls, rooms, put up but left for us to place the objects (furniture, decorations, etc.) Some of us (like me) suck at construction lol.
My vault 88 is like a prison. You come and never leave. There's about 20+ people at any given time. Residents have a four by four room. Cot, sink, wash cloths and toilet. The icing on the whole cake is the experiment room with electric stationary bikes. It is their end. There is a room behind where the human remains get processed.
This is freaking amazing. If you were able to build stuff like this in Fallout 76, imagine what kind of possibilities that could open up to multiplayer. You could do all sorts of stuff with other people in creations like this, like play Michael Myers for example. A bunch of different games that would be awesome. The devs should definitely look into that. Also, I think the Forge system from Halo 4 had some capabilities that the devs of Fallout should have incorporated into their building system. Like the ability to set items down at angles that the player decides. Like if you were trying to put a floor on an area that goes downhill, you would be able to angle one piece to the angle of the hill, and then every other piece snaps to that piece. I miss that about Halo's building system.
Are you stopping this all together or just not playing the game anymore?? I sure hope not, because your vids are very inspiring to folks just getting into the settlement side of the game. I really have learned a lot just watching you! Thanks for the help and information brother!
Jug Jug Jug Jug Jug!!! The King is back! I just saved this for my break in in t minus 20 mins. Question for you brother, hiw does it feel to be the pioneer of settlement building/vanilla trickery? You are referenced more than anyone!
When I first started back in December, I would have never guessed these videos would have the effect they did. It's exciting to know they've helped influence so many peoples fallout experience.
+Jug You really have! Bethesda needs to hire you as a level designer and a consultant for future workshop installments. I hope to see some epic outdoor builds using the new stuff. You inspired me to make giant settlements which I'll be posting and giving you a shout out! Again welcome back!
You, sir, are very talented! amazing brain, thank you for the tips! I am only 6 years behind you lol I guess these days, you are probably deep in some VR world that I know nothing about lol
You don't need to do that rug shit to use the generator, you can just build a vault power relay and place it on any of your walls, the walls themselves conduct the power from the generator.
Right but most of these pieces don't snap together through the hallways so I still need to connect the wall units with cords anyways. Both methods were used depending on where I was at in the caves.
Jug, I am uncertain from watching this video. There is this limestone wall you can remove from the natural cave; in the area with the steel stairs just after the train station thingie. Did you find that? If you did, What were you thoughts with what all was on the other side?
Damn, old video is old, but I wanted tips and stuff to see how to build better, but my god. The level at which you just figure out how to do things at is ridiculous....Can you come build things for me? xD lol. But for real, I have such issues when trying to figure out how to get power to places and making a balcony around a building with a fence/railing around it. I always have trouble around the corners. Any suggestions for corners on the outside of buildings? Nothing ever matches up for me. I don't know if it has to do with the walls messing up the outside or not....but any suggestions appreciated. But still, great content. I'm awed by your ability at building in this game. Damn.
How did you increase the build size limit? When building the bridge p[ast the pump your in the yellow almost at capacity and then all of a sudden you are back to barely used any!? i ran past my size limit just building a mega atrium! Explain how.
I made a more indepth video on those cool doors Jug created with the diverters if anyone is interested in building them, but be sure to check out them out in this vid at 29:30. If you want to see what I did, I try explain it, albeit not as well as Jug. I have a part 1 and part 2 video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tyQSzTBqOu4.html
Is there anyway you can turn off the entire lighting system to the entire Vault. Have Red lights instead turn on with some strobe lights going off to maybe and sirens whaling or something like a siren. I've always wanted to make my vault or any settlement really just go into this defence mode where you really feel like your being attacked. Just an idea though, would love to see it happen though.
Sure that can be done. It would take a little trial and error before it's right though. First you need to remove all power connectors near the lights you want to be off, and then place them just close enough to reach the lights you want to be on. This would be much easier to do if you were using the direct connected lights.
That caught me of guard so bad, I was in stitches xD Love how he's then like "before we go any further its probably important to note that you should close the vault door behind you"
Thanks everyone. If I'm a little distant at the moment, it's because I'm putting the final touches on my Nuka World Settlement. Should have it edited and ready for you in the next couple days. See you then.
Just a note, the power does transfer through connected pieces. So if you snap to the main opening you have power running through everything connected to it. Gotta use the vault conduit to power lights and whatnot however.
Jug you are by far the greatest Fallout settlement youtuber. Your settlements look great, and you share your invaluable building advice so well. Thank you! I hope you make more!
Good to see a positive, constructive video. Getting Tired of all the big-shots making tired, negative videos. You definitely sparked a few new ideas for me, thanks!
GuardianLords that is my biggest complaint with Fallout 4. It would be like Walt Disney building his huge theme parks, but only for himself and the animatronics from it's a small world.
Jason Joyner I just look at it as part of a post apocalypse world. you create something magnificent, but nobody is around to witness it but you. However, my friends and I take screen shots and videos to show case our building. I am better with the electrical aspect, using wires, logic gates, conduits, I make complex factorys, etc. But my structure building is MASSIVELY bland, However my friend corey is really artistic and creative his settlement structures are great. he even decorates them by placing objects in his house etc. We have a few more friends but 90% of my influence came from my friend Corey.
You sir are a god of building in this game. Makes me want to go back and finish my Vault 88, got as far as half an atrium and the overseers room/players home.
This is painful to watch, bro you know if you use the vault power conduit instead of the old ones the vault sections themselves transmit the power so you could connect 1 at the entrance to the vault and as long as the rooms are touching if you add a conduit to the end of the line you will have power the vault rooms act like power lines themselves add a conduit anywhere and put a wire off it to power anything
You'll notice in some places there are vault power conduits. The problem with these are that they only like to snap to the insides of the hallways, which there is nothing wrong with this if you're not concerned with wires running through the hallways. Since the majority of these hallways don't snap together to transmit power from the new generator it was just as easy to use the old connectors which will connect to nearly everything.
No you can place them outside as well as long as it is on a powered room square, you can also create a bridge with them outside if you have places that aren't connected by placing two of them outside and running a wire between to bridge gap. When i was building i saw where i was getting raided from randomly and in 2 places put defenses outside the vault building system with conduits powering the turrets. My entire vault was powered by 1 reactor (i think, i know i built two of them and used one just for powering the water pump but i don't think i ever connected it to the rest of the power system but i'd have to fire up the game to check and it is really irrelevant to what we are talking about) keep in mind i was playing on PC though so i dunno if that matters
It certainly does seem like they snap to the outside now, I remember having trouble with it before but they seem to fit just fine. Thanks for insight, it is always welcome.
Hey Jug, not sure if anyone has told ya yet, but you can run wires past "bounds" by highlighting the wire and using the connect button (Triangle or Y) then simply connect it to whatever you want. You'll have to exit and re-enter the build menu but it's a nice trick. Hope I got what you have to do across via typing, if not I'll post a video.
Wow, first video of yours I've seen, and this is probably the best vault 88 settlement I've seen so far. everything is so seamless and works so well. you've earned a sub.
Fantastic build jug thx for some of the tips in this video and the other ones but i am still struggling with the weapon room at 33:08 can anyone help me with that?
