Bethesda, You are so good at fixing what wasn't broken and ignoring what has been broken from the start. Nobody asked for changes to the scoreboard system, but if you look at any general thread on FO76 you will consistently see players asking for fixes to the same real problems that we encounter every day in game.

Expeditions and Daily Ops are great additions to 76, but nothing holds a candle to the fun and challenges that came with the Vault Raids. Those pushed us to plan and coordinate with each other. These I can do alone with one hand tied behind my back. RIP Vault Raids, Survival Mode, Nuclear Winter, and Mischief Night. RIP Fun.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this. Legit feels like a manager reading a script while the people who did the work are having their time wasted. I feel like I'm back in zoom meetings listening to this.
They're trying to copy many things, this is Diablo 4 around the campfire, and their new system is identical to fortnite. This is what happens when you create activist and not game makers. They show you how out of gas they are for the creative process, and copy someone else's homework to look competent.
As both sides argue whose "simping" for what, heres an objective statement: Whomever put this together presentation wise may need to review their work. The script feels very wooden. Thats usually offset by tone and energy of your on screen folks. This did not occur. You have people clearly reading as they speak. They glance at notes very very very obviously. They read line by line without engaging the viewer. Approximately 29% of this video, your talent does not even look at the customer. This ends up reinforcing the idea that all you care about is money (which is true dont get me wrong, thats what a business does), and your main point in making a interaction like this is to make the consumer feel you actually care about them more then money. Do better is all i ask, personally. You have alot of people upset you lost a iconic representative like Lady, and you need to keep us entirely on your side. This didn't really do that. Keep trying by all means but know this is not a home run of a PR move following LD. (Ill be buired in this comment log, but one has to make an effort either way as a consumer)
I agree, I noticed they weren't even trying to look at the camera just reading the script. I'm not expecting them to memorize but try to be more flexible and not reading a speil. Lady D was really good at that. It's her first so we'll give some leniency but gotta improve. Editing was a bit jerky as well. I don't remember previous ones where edited scenes were so obvious.
That means you'll have to grind tickets and take even longer. This seems like a major hit to fallout first as well. It would make more sense to give fallout first double tickets instead. I'm going from a random free item sometimes to having to grind twice as much just to get items I'm paying for fallout first for. You have to pay for fallout first just to have acess to items you have to buy still? This is bullshit
It doesn't JUST mean grinding longer, it also means grinding for LESS because they're slashing the free atoms you can earn from a season by around half.
@michaelbruso just uninstalled lol. When they introduced scoreboards to replace the challenge system that let players earn atoms, they slahed the amount of atoms you'd earn. The fact that now earnable atoms will be reduced even MORE, while simultaneously making a seasonal treadmill grind even worse, means I'm finally able to give up on 76.
Its unfortunate but tbh, it's an mmo and there is far fewer currencies here than some of the other major mmo titles. We could be dealing with far far worse
I watched a 3 minute video from AngryTurtle and I understood the whole premise of the tickets with the new season. It's really not difficult. Neither are bullion or stamps. Caps are obvious.
Scoreboard wise: It smells like that they want to sell a downgrade, and promote it like a huge quality-of-life update. I assume that no more season thematic scoreboard music, no more lore expanding radio plays, no more supee fun scoreboard desings. Only menu music and some atomic shop like tile structure. Sad story.
Not only all that, but it would seem that items we used to get for FREE as we earned SCORE with our Fallout 1st membership now are going to be 'unlocked' but they haven't said anything about us now needing to complete more quests to actually earn something we got with our memberships. This greatly reduces the value of Fallout 1st.
It was nice of Bethesda to include us in their zoom call with Microsoft. I look forward to the video to the community regarding these changes & how they will benefit us.

Consoles are just standardized computers which have standardized specs, but they are functionally no different which means they have all similar issues as PC, i.e. red ring of death, app crashing, drive failures, overheating etc etc Are you new to gaming?

The guy Jessie is a senior Monetization manager so I’m pretty sure his job is to turn something into more revenue for the company so doesn’t surprise me they are changing something as simple as the scoreboard that we all look forward to every season into whatever this is to try and make more money for Bethesda. There was something special and different about the season scoreboard and to show it off at your camp for completing. I personally loved grinding through it even though I couldn’t pick my own rewards. This is a big hit to Bethesda hope they change it back for next season.

To be fair it had it's issues, so much crap consumables nobody wanted. Now we don't waste our tickets on that trash. I'll wait and see if this is improved.
They are probably getting sick of maintaining it I'm not worried maybe you can grind for things that you missed out on from every season you know I missed most of them because I wasn't a player back then.

11 times for me yesterday. In about 3hrs of gaming. And I can't even remember how many times I missed out on a mask because of it. Worst it's ever been.
We were already able to choose the regards we wanted. The scoreboard update literally makes zero sense aside from being a cash grab. I think you guys need to look up what the word 'exciting' means with regards to rhe scoreboard update. Also, there was no mention about being able to explore AC and The Pitt outside of the expeditions. You can sort of explore but not nearly as much as was suggested. One of my friends did the math and said that if you wanted to unlock everything from the new season, you'd basically have to rank up to the equivalence of rank 153. What the hell @bethesda I knew that the second I would buy a year subscription of first, I would regret it. Just like after they announced the removal of all legacies (not just the ones that pissed everyone off). I highly doubt bethesda will even read these comments. They just don't care as much as they claim thst they do. If they did, they would actually listen to the community.
And they was supposed to be the company to save the player. How far and deep they goes now it's unbelivable. From the starfield flop to this, they only ask money and money every day. @@jacksoon5988 Thankfully after the microsoft acquisition if Bethesda isnt over a certain profit line by the end of a deadline Microsoft gets to make cuts. I appreciate all the people who have worked at Bethesda up to this point but the games arent great. Oblivion hs recently gotten popular on youtube because of its wacky quests. I havent seen anything interesting from bethesda lately and that hurts.
So you can unlock what you want on a page, but you have to reach a rank to get to that page. I don't like that. I was expecting total freedom to unlock whatever I want in whatever order I want. So it's like the illusion of freedom.
It's just copying Fortnite. Same method. Reach a rank to unlock that page and u can get stuff from that page. If the tickets are handed out in good amounts. I'd be ok with it. I didn't ever really need the consumables. In this new version, I could skip em.
I started playing fallout about a year ago and loved the idea of the scoreboard and everything about it. I am not sure why you decided that this needed to be changed because I don't want to choose between rewards. I want to be able to earn them all if I so choose. I play, my husband plays, and my son plays. We all have fallout 1st and I spend at least 100$ in your store every week if not more on atom purchases. I think this is just something that will cost more money and not offer what it used to offer so my membership is up in April I guess I'll move onto that space game on game pass. You see I also pay for 3 game pass memberships a year so fallout is becoming something of an expense monster and now you're making me choose what I want to get instead of being able to get all the items.
You dont have a brain if you spend money on half-assed work. You can clearly see them forced to do work, if you see the other developers like in Riot games, they are very passionate when they talk or present to their community. These people doesn't have any passion for the game and all they eant is their paycheck. Laziness and incompetence is contagious, and the same unmotivated people gets transferred to the other projects and it ruined bethesda. It's a cycle.
What I really would like to see again is the battle royale, while I'm not a fan of any battle royale but Fallout's 76 battle royale is the exception, the idea was just perfect!
Also the fact it’s gonna take getting to lvl 167 for fallout 1st members to complete the pass from 1-100 is crazy its going to take just under 12 weeks boosted that needs to change if ppl don’t know what I’m talking about the info is from a video I saw talking about the new currency and its value I can’t believe it takes pass lvl 167 to unlock all rewards from 1-100 for boosted fallout 1st members and about 30 lvls less for non fallout 1st members boosted
something rather icky about the title Senior Monetization Designer being shown in this video. it's like you aren't here to improve the game, just make money on it while not really making the game any better, just making it more grindy. I don't think this new scoreboard improves this game. I'm not sure if anyone asked for the scoreboard to be fixed or changed. We sure as hell don't want more currency in this game. I think we asked for less consumable items, and not spreading out a set of armor over 5 scoreboard slots. No one asked for this. Instead of firing Lady Devann, maybe fire the genius that come up with this, because clearly you aren't listening to the community, and firing community managers is proof of that. there are bugs that have been in this game since day 1 that have never been fixed, like that stupid repeating gun bug for example. tons of things they could improve, like server stability or the friends list bugs where ppl are showing as offline or main menu. I had someone add me in the game, sent me screenshot and it says player not recognized, she had to add me 2 more times for it to work. My name was spelled correctly, so seriously, wtf is that about? "it just works," right, Todd?! friends list needs so much work, it's not even funny. they never increased server limit on 1st, it really needs to be 12 at this point, not 8. The RNG for fasnacht needs to be addressed as well. talk about making people have to grind to get something good, sheesh. I did over 300 fasnachts and got 1 glowing mask. that's abysmal. It seemed worse on PC than console, from discussions I've seen here, on facebook and on twitch. why? why is drop rates not consistent? I'd like to see a scrip like system with the common and uncommon fasnacht masks to get chance for rare masks. do we have that after 5 years? nope. we just keep adding more masks into the pool and making drop rate less than 1%. anyone who says its 5% is lying. do we have a fasnacht photo frame? nope. we should have had on every single year with date on it, but you guys didn't even give us 1 single generic fasnacht photo frame. even with the crappy drops, you know how many of us pose in front of the fasnacht bonfire and take pics at end of hour? no one thought to give us a photo frame, or is it you can't be bothered? either way it's a shame. so many improvements that the actual players of this game can recommend but nope, lets make scoreboard more grindy and add another currency to 76. do better, bethesda!
I'm not going to say Fallout 76 isn't without its faults but if the most you can say about the game is that a non-game breaking sound bug still exists and quibbles about mask drop rates then it sounds to me like they're not doing a bad job at all. As for the scoreboard, I, for one, welcome this change. I was never a fan of the board game system; this multi-path system has been adopted by other games and allows one to go after the content they want first without having to pick up stuff you would rather not bother with.
Same here on the Fasnacht event, one glowing mask over 180 steins. And I did bring up and made a complaint that the last mole miner event that I didn't get not one plan old or new. And THAT really made me feel like I'm not going to be spending much more money here. And Fasnacht was very disappointing. I've been playing Fallout since it the first one came out. And frankly Fallout 76 on PS5 is literally the only game that I play that constantly crashes and freezes still even after the last update. It's a sad time for FALLOUT in my eyes. Money mongers.

They're actually going to a style that Fortnite tried briefly and changed because of how many players didn't like ie. You'd think they'd at least learn from other games' mistakes.
So let's get this straight. This Battlepass is a huge stepback for f2p players. -We now get only 600 atoms (2000 atoms in the current season) -We get about 75 items, including atoms, caps etc (102 in the current season) -We literally CANT reach the second bonus page, as it requires 95 unlocked rewards (with f2p cap being 75). A paywall past level 100. You're trying to FORCE people to buy Fallout 1st at this point, by making F2P life less and less comfortable. As a regular F2P player, I just feel left out and unwanted. And moreover, now I DONT want to buy your premium, because I KNOW you're just forcing it on me. Whoever came up with battlepass idea just made me lost my last bits of faith in the dev team, good job.

How long does it take to get a single ticket? I understand changing the design to have bigger pictures. The design of the pages doesn’t look enticing compared to the scoreboard. I’m one of those players that finish the season for the scoreboard to show off in my camp so I’m really sad to see it go in place of a long light up picture that is no where near as cool? I will play until the end but damn dawg other than the big pictures I don’t get the change.
This is bad. This companies take psychological avatage of people that like to show off. Is like people that spend huge amount of money on brands to show off. The value is not real but here we are.
This to me looks like the Fortnite Battle Pass. If the tickets come in good enough quantities like the stars in Fortnite. It should be ok. But if u don't get enough as you go through the pass, it won't be worth the time.

This wouldn't feel like such a punch in the gut (more like balls) if the devs had talked about ways they are listening to players (especially long-time players) about creating more engaging content. Rather, this comes off as a money grab with a focus on monetizing and forcing players to grind the same content that was not as engaging in the first place. Going to give the season a try, but not holding my breath. For shame...

more grind time mean less effort to them for put out "upgrades" if you can call them like this. So maybe now you will have to play 5-6 hours a day to get the things you could get in 40 min. Bad for use, but good for them for boost the around play time and prove that there a lot of play time in.
Skill issue. I always finish the scoreboards with 2 months to spare spending 20 minutes a day on challenges. It's always been a snoozefest. Grind is a good thing in MMOs.
I’m guessing we will get 75 tickets per rank up, and will have to clear a page before moving on. I like this system. It’ll take the same amount of grinding, but gives you a bit more freedom throughout.
I'm the sucker for playing since launch, but the so-called "development" of this property is in the toilet. Stop adding extra currencies and finding ways to suck more and more money out of us for fewer and fewer returns.
Exactly. And how many currencies do we have now anyway? Atoms, caps, scrip, claim tokens, treasury notes/gold, stamps, and now tickets. There's now more currencies than worthy quests to go on.
only reason i kept coming back to fallout was the scoreboard. grind a lot but earn some atoms to spend them as i see fit. this new ticket system is bullshit and another attempt to milk the players dry. i think its time now to call it quits.
The creativity of the game board story/item progression was genius and, in my opinion, the game board collectible is a nonnegotiable trophy. While this new system does offer some choice, it takes all the fun out and replaces it with greater enticement to purchase atoms-- with merely a generic poster as my grand reward.
Like fargassier brings up in his video it would be cheaper to complete the free season and then pay for a month of fallout 1st and unlock the 1st exlusives as well as have the scrap/ammo box for a month than to buy the season pass
I cannot get behind the changes to fallout seasons. Its meant to bleed the player base of currency. After a while the only players left will be those addicted to the model. I just can't.

The Scoreboard is perfect the way it is. It´s unique and creative and now we will have fortnite/mobile esque version, for no reason, no ONE wanted the scoreboard to change this dramatically. The effort that was put into this change should be made in other more important stuff , fixing stuff,adding new lore to the game, adding Pets and 4star legendaries like you mentioned years ago. This scoreboard system is a downgrade a massive one. If it aint broke,dont fix it
I like the change personally. Finally can pick and choose what i want to unlock than being forced to grind for pointless nuka colas, perk cards or pwr armr skins
I liked how you got about 2k in atoms in the 100, its about 75 items with atoms and caps for the current scoreboard, next its its 600 atoms with a odd priced ticket for items.
Im guessing they expect a flood of casuals due to the tv show so theyre preparing the grind to be customized for new players and ultimately harder for dedicated players
Fortnite battle pass UI but with a currency you have to grind. Big MEH. The game board system was VERY much Fallout's style and for the point about people not being able to see what they're getting...they could tap a button to see the preview. Are we that lazy that we need to see a preview instantly?

Bethesda needs to stop adding new expeditions and just focus on gameplay elements unless they’re willing to get some new people in the writing room. As of right now, the end game just amounts to collecting ultra rare stuff and trading/scamming/vendor hopping/glitching the settlement system/trap camps and an insanely niche group of people that pvp with duped items. We need new, tougher enemies that aren’t just bullet sponges that can still be soloed, and are basically just reskins of existing enemies. None of these human NPCs are interesting whatsoever. We need new things to work for that actually majorly affect gameplay, not just non-tradable armor and weapons with additive damage boosts for an already easy game. New factions would we nice, and a HUGE deemphasis on the scoreboard and pointless xp grinding. Every time there’s more npcs added it diminishes the original story that, while flawed, was at least occasionally interesting. It’s pretty obvious the devs don’t play the game, because they’re completely out of touch with the mechanics. The only reason people still play it is because the playerbase is self-propelled

What you NEED to absolutely fix are the console crashing issues. Yeah I don't see this going well. These developers are clearly clueless to what the fo76 community actually wants. Makes me think that Zenni Max has done this to recoup some of their losses after the mess that was Starfield.
They ruined what was an already get system. More Grinding for less rewards. Gotta hit lvl 140 or something. And Half the atoms?? Looks like I’ll be ending my fo1st. I’ll Return playing this game if they ever decide to actually add more missions, new areas.
I like a lot that you can choose the rewards. But I think it was something very special about having the board game feeling. I would like to see it come back, but maybe somehow combine the benefits of choice.

So glad this came out before the MicroSoft Studios purchase, because my PS-owning hoop kind of has a potato for a computer, and no X-Box after a few very, very bad experiences.
I honestly don't like the "new" scoreboard system. They really want you to grind and login almost everyday and play this goddamn game. As if I don't have other games to play ..
As if that wasn’t how it was set up before? Nothing has really changed. As long as they don’t get rid of the xp challenges, you can still get through it in a couple days.
Can you guys pls make the holy fire available to change the skin pls we shouldn’t be able to drop/transfer a legendary to the floor/body/container(not stash) without some kind of confirmation at the very least every legendary item should have the option to change the skin no matter where or what you got the weapon from
I knew the scoreboard system wouldn't stay the way it was. I would regularly finish the scoreboard in about 1 month and then take a break the rest of the season. Im guessing a lot of other people did the same thing and Bethesda didn't like the drop in active players, so instead of adding new and engaging content that players would want to stay and keep playing they decided to make this scoreboard change as a way to artificially inflate those active player numbers.

To be honest, I never had any issues regarding the whole scoreboard as a whole and the way it was structures, I get what they are going for but in a way it'll kinda take away what made the scoreboards into what they were
