Fallout 76 PTS - The Demise Of The Railway Rifle Is Greatly Exaggerated 

So basically, I'll start using me Q/25/25 railway instead of my Q/E/25 and move points from demolition expert into endurance.

The only reason why I dislike the railway rifle being nerfed to any extent is that we're still not getting things to replace it. I'm tired of the nerfs! I want better rifleman stats, in a game where DPS is king why do the rifleman perk cards only give 20% each on three star? I want the lever action rifle to have a natural anti armor mod that can be paired with legendary anti armor, I want shotguns to not be useless anymore, I want pipe guns to get a special category that makes them high damage dealers if you're willing to sacrifice perk cards to give them more of a boost on top of the rifleman/commando boost.

Its an issue farming queens in a private, with a few friends...especially now that vat crit is also getting a nerf.

Bro EVERY TIME I join an event I hear at least like 3-4 railway rifles

This thing is still a beast. Although I feel like quad is a must. It's a VATS machine when modified properly.

I only pull out the Railway when facing really tanky enemies/bosses anyways. Been having fun with non meta weapons like the Gauss Shotgun and Alien Disintegrator.

Still freezing in expeditions still black screening at events fix the bugs not nerf perfectly fine weapons

Ap change is negligible if you use coffee and/or Company tea, and well tuned. With the new changes to fire rate though I’m considering switching to rifleman and putting the prime receiver on my railway. Probably bloodied, crit, reload speed will be my next rolls I’m going for. I think the fire rate will kill the dps boost with Quad but we will see, I don’t have access to the pts so.

RR has the biggest punch of all commando weapons. It's still not balanced but it's much closer to it on PTS.

I'm not a 'railway rifle' person, but I've tried the "Ticket to Revenge" & I think I'll hold on to it for a while.

I haven't used a railway before, but I'm going to try it out today because of the new blue ridge skin for it

Use the non automatic version as your longer range while using The Enclave Flamer. I think I will try that when this goes live.

I want to see a boss fight if you could do an Earle and queen on pts

If only they would fix what needs to be fixed like the 5 inch sensor range on camp turrets.

Just surprised that Betheda didn't makes spikes even heavier than they are now as well as the other changes. Changes will probably be more noticeable for those of us who don't run full commando builds and run hybrid/all rounder.

i've always thought high fire rate was masively overrated. i mainly use fixer and it has the perfect fire rate out of the box for my ping. i'd rather have 50% more crit than 25% ffr. when i started playing the game and was looking for bloodied commando build guides and was so confused at all these videos showcasing their q2525 "godrolls", dumping their entire magazines on mirelurk queens all because the servers couldn't keep up

Even tho i like ur videos cause u sound positive and optimistic, i dont agree with ur opinion this time. Bethsies trend of nerfing anything worth trouble is malicious and all -pointed to getting more money by keeping players more and more busy with these changes. In my case, i havent got q2525 or qexp25 yet and i never experienced full potential of those weps like some players did years b4 me. I think thats not fair. Now i think its pointless to play this game anymore, cause every time something gonna get nerfed as soon as players find it neat...

I mean based on what I've seen, for those who took the time to see what was changed in the pts. It seems way more manageable fire rate wise. So i wonder how the 25ffr would feel like.

if you can melt the toughest bosses in less than a min and the rest of the bosses in less than 10 seconds yeah its too powerful. No boss battle which is supposed to take at least a team of 4 high powered players 15 mins to kill shouldn't be able to be killed by 1 guy in 10 seconds. But the problem isn't the gun is too powerful the buffs are too powerful, so for those 1% guys that get 8000 buffs it make it OP but for the other 90% of high level players with a build dedicated to that gun and a few buffs its still VERY strong

I have no problem with this at all. I run a Q FFR Choo Choo and this so-called nerf makes sense to me.

most peeps are more concerned on how the weapon performs on boss not regular mobs.. cause the railway is or was the go too weapon to solo earl and queen

It’s not ok to nerf any of the current weapons. Powerful weapons are a reward for grinding the game and spending countless hours re rolling legendary effects. I’m lvl 400 and I shouldn’t be doing the same damage as a level 50 (no offense) the bosses are too tanky to solo for you average player anyway. Even with my quad 50 Railway I still can’t take down Earl with 2-3 people and I damn sure can’t solo him. This is bullshit and it makes me feel like I wasted my time

I'm stealth commando build and only tend to use the RR for bosses, so this is a flat nerf for me. I'm not furious about it but it is likely to feel like I'm not making a realistic contribution to events.

Thé railway isn’t doing any less damage but sadly it’s just slower and that’s what people are sad aboot. Only thing I’m sad about is my math is screwed :( I had a Thing on paper where you could kill earle with exactly 1 magazine from the holy fire but I didn’t have the chameleons PA or the gear to test it on console and now I’m starting a new character on PC I don’t think I’m gonna get the chance to try that out before the update rolls in. (14s to shoot all the bullets but I’d expect it to be around a 20s sub 20 kill without abusing endangerol!!)

I'd love to try it out on the test server but it continuously drops the server and my carry weight is reduced to one.

Looks like DPS will be gutted. That fire rate is straight up 💩 compared to what it was. Boss fights are going to be annoyingly slow now

I wouldn't say any other content creator's outlines are "exaggerated". The nerfs, between changes to quad, changes to the railway, and changes to vats crits are extreme. The fire rate is, flat out, a 30% DPS NERF. That is _an insane_ nerf. It's being _under sold_ if anything. With the change to crits? Maximum obtainable DPS against bosses has been cut in half, roughly. If you're "Ok" with that you're wrong. This is, primarily, a boss killing weapon, so not noticing a difference with trash mobs is completely pointless. To my mind it's not worth discussing, because trash mobs are easily taken out by non- legendary pipe guns. The only conversation worth having with changes to this gun is _when it comes to killing bosses_ because the railways used for killing bosses have _always_ been over-kill for non-boss mobs. Not saying that this is the death of railways, but your criteria is...illogical to me. Current game version, quad is the king for bosses, after, AA/ffr will most likely be a better choice, to make up for the nerf to crits and the nerf to railway fire rate. Or the new furious FFR named gun from the new update with double ammo...be curious to see how that stacks up on PTS vs anti-armor and bloody. Especially and specifically against bosses. I suspect a AA/50c-ffr/25 will be the new king for DPS, and the named railway will be common for people who can't get that exact set of rolls.

I appreciate your take. It's not hysterical doomsaying like some other content creators are making it be. I'm not an endgame player. My new character doesn't even have legendary armor, reached lvl 100 this week just doing the quests and sometimes events. But against normal enemies (exceptions aside, like the Ogua, Blue Devil, or for something I'm doing wrong the Mirelurk Queen), she does fine. Against bosses? Well, I refuse to do ACP, the rest is meant to be an *event*, it's meant to be dealt with collectively, but many people with size issues want to solo an event to compensate for it. Or something. For the love of.... its not about it being exaggerated. Its about making a fan favorite worse to do the same thing players have been doing for months or literal years. Instead of adding harder end game content they persist on stand around participation events. even those will be pointless one months after new craft system. Its an obvious way to keep ultra casuals on their game to cash out on before doing it again for a season 2 of a tv show. Catering to casuals is fine. We welcome it but not at the expense of the foundation of the playerbase. Games gonna crumble with boredom.

Everyone saying increase the weight has never tried to carry railway spikes. Theyre heavy as shit. And everyone complaining about people being OP caused this. So the people who grinded and earned all their good stuff get punished cuz people who havent put the time in yet want everything to be equal

Aligned Charging Barrels on a 25% FFR GatLaser are now faster (60 fire rate vs 48). That's just embarrassing and a sad day for out beloved Railway.

The railway is an OP weapon used by players who just get themselves into a build rut. "I've been playing this build for the last 3 years" Now a nominal needed change is having some salty people on here thinking the whole game is jinxed. I'm spending my hard earn Fallout first atoms as fast as they come in. I think this change is fine with me. Having a silly 'gun' that makes a choo choo sound was a dumb Idea to begin with. Thanks Bethesda!! Maybe it's time for some people to quit the game. I mean look how getting rid of the legendary legacies ruined the game. No one plays anymore. Oh wait!

Fire rate reduction is like a joke. They should fix the bugs before they nerf the good weapons. Why not buff other weapons instead nerfing good ones?

Bethesda may like the change but players do not. You need players to keep the game going. Quit pissing us off.....live service is not a beta test, and this reeks of being in break it early test application.

If everyone in the game was using this rifle, I could see nerfing it to allow for more build diversity. However, I just don't see a ton of railway rifles being used. All they have done is made the people that were having fun with this gun, have less fun. I've played several different games where there were clear winners in the DPS department and everyone was running those builds/weapons, but that doesn't seem to happen in FO76.
