@@ruan6244 it had diamond city that was it. everything else you have to build or has like 2-3 people living together. fallout new vegas and fallout 3 had several large towns that you could spend 30 minutes exploring and still not find every detail.
@@ruan6244 it did yeah. But there were barely any. I loved in fallout 1 and 2 ans even in 3 how every town i found had a story and quests to do and mysteries to discover. In fallout 4 half of all towns were just excuses to make towns. Whenever I found a town I would get excited, then realized its just a excuse to help Preston.
What are you talking about? Fallout 4 had some issues, but It wasn't the lack of towns. Diamond city, goodneighbor, covenant, bunker hill are just some good examples of post-nuclear towns
@@filipesantos5361 That's weak dude. Most of the towns were full of npcs who were just excuses for settlement building. Actually now I remeber i found alot of areas that were completely void of npcs to make way for building. I spent over 100 hours in fallout 4 and did every quest. So i know what I'm talking about.
Darkholow The engine is only two game cycles old.....it was only used in Skyrim and Fallout 4. You don’t just go out and replace an engine when you’ve barely scratched the surface of its capabilities. Engines get upgraded and optimized.
The fact that they had to preemptively salvage their name by revealing games that are three and six years out beyond this game said it all. The writing's been on the walls for this game since E3. It was cemented when the beta came out. I thought critics would be kind since it was a Bethesda game and give it a 6 or a 7 anyway though. That doesn't seem to be the case. These are Duke Nukem Forever-tier reviews.
Right. it's just like Hello Games, and Sean Murray when they released No Man Sky...they just disappeared for a while till the hate dies down. Only difference is i saved my $60 this time.

They should have just made a map additional items, and say here go nuts and see what you can get into, like the workshop dlc... This is a full priced game but it's delivering what is basically a cheap add on
RDR2 is a fine game, no doubt, but 70% of the game is riding horse from the camp to some mission. Story advances so slowly that I'm actually starting to regret I bought this game instead of GoW or Spider-Man..
I'll say this about 76: I think people are going to appreciate fallout 4 an awful lot more now. Edit: Really appreciate the attention this comment got, even from those who disagreed as it's good to get a discussion going.
Dog Man Short version: 4 Has an actual world and characters you can interact with and your character is actually fighting for something unlike 76. There’s probably more reasons but that’s what sticks out to me.

The funny thing is Fallout 76 Fanboys don't even realize how much we'ved helped them by bombing this crappy game. They're now getting Fov sliders,Push to talk,and other fixes after Bethesda said no. All because of our so called Hating. Let's just hope Obsidian uses their wasteland IP as a direct competitor to Fallout. If that happens and it has mod support Bethesda would be screwed.
Java Monsoon i mean they did say in the vid they released after getting acquired there hope is to create AAA games again. They even went to say creating AAA RPGs that push the genre. So you never know, but out of all the Devs Microsoft has acquired Obsidian is looking like their Ace in the hole.
I completely agree folks. But let's not forget that he did say that those game will be on a significant updated creation engine. So maybe they just didnt have time to do this for 76. But I do agree they should just use Unreal Engine 4 or just start the process of making another engine.

It came from owners who expect a return or/and creditors who expect that debt will be paid. For example, Providence Equity partners invested in 2010 in Zeninax $150 million and $300 million in 2007. Sure they don’t go public and that let’s more margin revenue.

RDR2 is a great game. But since I don't have a peasant-grade system to play it on, I will buy this Mess of a Fallout game for $30 and nuke some 12yr olds while I wait for the RDR2 PC port.
I honestly think Bethesda have gradually gone shit and lost touch since oblivion and fallout 3. I wouldn't be surprised if starfield and tes 6 end up being samey and average
@Michael Dust I'd take a well polished, single player game with a great setting and a focus on a quality, finished product than a half baked game that just ticks certain boxes of being an rpg :D And exodus is going to be a rpg game (sort of), with an open world :)

At least Bethesda had the bravery to change the type of game that the Fallout games usually are. Not many Game Companies would do that. Give Bethesda credit for trying!

Harsh? This game deserves a 2. It's an abomination of a game and ripped off THOUSANDS of consumers that bought it ONLY because they are loyal to the Fallout franchise. Disgusting business practice on Bethesdas part. This whole "release it now, fix it later" shit that is happening in the gaming industry has to fucking stop, its shady as hell to do that kind of shit to people by charging them $60 + tax on CLEARLY unfinished work like Fallout 76 just because they want to cash in and have to meet a damn deadline or quota.
They are working on an elder scrolls game, they released a teaser some time ago. I do want something like co-op mode with 2 or 4 players. But not like this fallout 76 shit
All we ever wanted was a core Fallout / Elder Scrolls game with coop. Bethesda thought they could get away with screwing their fans with this cheap piece of crap and they were wrong. Bethesda jumped on the ONLINE hype train and failed. Good.

@@JoBo52 just read up and apparently they normally give them the game early but then tell them "ok we want you to logon at 7pm on Thursday and play for 3 hours" so that all the media is on at the same time. I still disagree with Bethesda's policy though for review games
They should have either gone with a Fallout 5 that happens to include an optional coop mode, or simply filled this world with NPCs and interesting quests, as well as ironed out PVP systems and included instances for certain story missions. That would have laid the foundation for a potentially amazing game, despite the many bugs and I get the sense that this was also their original vision for this game, but unfortunately for whatever reason (creative, financial or technical) they just never finished the game and rushed it out as quickly as possible. There was a lot of potential, but sadly Bethesda chose to ignore it.
God of war, Red Dead Redemption 2, Marvel's Spider-Man, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Life is Strange just to name a few all say hi.

Granted, I personally do not believe Fallout 76 is worth $60. Black Ops 4? Hell yeah, had a ton of fun with it. The new Tomb Raider though? Still regret that purchase.
I think you would also have a lot of fun drinking a beer with a friend or just simply having a nice chat. Go and pay $60 for that as well. Entertainment value... yeah, right.
I have a bunch of friends that got hyped and pre-ordered Fallout 76 just after seeing a trailer of the game when it was announced. I refuse to believe that they're enjoying the game so far, even if they told me so. Im glad that a Bethesda game finally failed this much, I love this situation. I really hope that this would mean that some people, from now on, are going to face the fact that Bethesda has not been able to develop a decent game since Fallout: New Vegas. They should really stick on giving their moneys to different developers and studios, i mean, the results speak for themselve, Doom, The Evil Within, that fuckin underrated masterpiece that Prey is, Wolfenstein, Dishonored, uuugh!

Don't. I haven't played 76 but I've played other games that got critically panned before and had huge amounts of fun. You can recognise a games flaws and still enjoy playing it. Ultimately we play games to have fun, if you enjoy playing it then keep doing so.
I have been playing Fallout since the very first one came out on PC in 1997. I have played and LOVED them all: Fallout (PC), Fallout 2 (PC), Fallout 3 (PS3), Fallout New Vegas (PS3) and Fallout 4 (PS4). I have purchased almost every single available DLC for each game and have spent countless hours enjoying the absolute SH*T out of everything Fallout. To provide even more perspective, I only bought a PS4 to play Fallout 4 and GTA V; No other reason! I have been anticipating the release of the NEXT Fallout since I got addicted to settlement mode in Fallout 4 and for the last few years have been eagerly searching for any news on when this might actually happen. AT LAST THE TIME HAS COME........FOR THE COMPLETE DESTRUCTION AND ABOMINATION OF MY FAVOURITE SERIES OF GAMES EVER MADE. I am so disgusted by this mutilation I will NEVER purchase another game from Bethesda EVER AGAIN.....unless they return to the core values of what made these games AMAZING!! I never had any complaints about any of the previous games, I LOVED FALLOUT 4!!! but man, you guys really F**ked this one up. On the bright side, I didn't rush to buy this game and therefore did not waste my money in any way. Overall, it's a massive disappointment!
Even then, I legitimately am not buying anymore of their games until I have confirmation that they've thrown out that god awful engine, after this shit show if they truly care about their fans they'll develop a new engine instead of recycling the same useless one
My biggest gripes are the bugs and performance. My friends and I are having tons of fun with the content, but we appreciate the negative reception because we believe it'll make the game much better with updates. We like the base game but believe there is a lot of room for improvement
Anyone else feel alot of these kind of games are trying to re-create the magic that Star Wars Galaxies (before the NGE mess) managed to capture? Worlds filled with player social interaction and world building, character progression through customising your character how you want to play, etc.
I'm sorry, but I'm genuinely curious, am I the only old school Fallout fan (fan since Fallout 2) that is actually having a fun time with this game? I see waves of hate from old and newer fans, and while this game is nowhere near perfect, I've been thoroughly enjoying the exploration of West Virginia. Idk, just curious.
You're not alone. I've been enjoying it. Granted I'm not as old as a fan as you are. I started with fallout 3. Even so I've been enjoying west Virginia and the player base or at least the people playing the game seem really nice.
The Nerdy Badger Uh... because as someone that’s played previous fallout games you of all people should have easily noticed that 76 has NOTHING that made the previous Fallouts so special. No compelling characters. No complex progression system. No dialogue system. Also the fact that Bugthesda reused assets from Fallout 4 should have been obvious too. Also, mtxs in a $60 game? If that doesn’t scream “cash-grab” loud enough for you, then you clearly aren’t paying attention.
You can enjoy the game no one is saying you should stop playing the game . I'm curious why waste 60 dollars to a unfinish game , with a hell alot of bug and etc , this game should be much and much better for a 60 dollars and made by triple A company not a indie . I want to play the game , i always want to make city and online play with fallout title but the game is empty very small content, they could make a better on base building that's one the core of fallout 76, sigh.
I'm having a fantastic time playing it so far, but I'm always with a team. I have yet to play it solo, and with no NPCs I can imagine it to be really empty and somewhat boring. I'm over all positive with this game even if it's a buggy mess. The internet hates people who go against the mob so please go ahead and downvote, happy thanksgiving.
The fact that it made it without any NPC's is, in my opinion, the thing that put people off. If they had NPC's in the game and a main story, but with the ability to switch to multiplayer, then it probably would've been a good game.
Despite all the hate, I like this game. I see the flaws, but I'm having fun with it. Hope there's others out there that are enjoying it as well and that Bethesda gets to work improving the game in a No Man's Sky type of dedication.
The game feels right when playing coop. Nowdays you have to give a chance for games to mature, these are huge games that need some time to settle. This is why you don't pre-order games, wait for a final product.
I feel like I'm going insane having not seen a single positive review of this game. Am I the only one who is really enjoying the (large) story with an awesome map, awesome radio, awesome creatures and, dare i say it, few amount of bugs (on my end i know this isn't everyone's experience). this game has been fun for the 35 hours i've played it and i'm still not even close to finishing the many main quests that i have been working on. i get there's drawbacks but a 4?! really?? people said it was similar to fallout 4 yet that received a 9. apparently its not...
My friend n I spent hours exploring only finished the 2nd quest of the story. Playing on a X1 S I've had very few bugs that "broke" anything.. I like that they took the gun/ammo crafting from NV, with all the crafty stuff from 4. The everything degrades over time is cool.
I've been thoroughly enjoying the game too and for many of those reasons you listed. I've also learned that my tastes differ from the general consensus quite a bit, but I think that's part of being our own individual. This game isn't perfect, but I'm having a hell of a fun time playing it.
I just think future DLC or patches need to introduce living, human NPCs. They did say other vaults will open. They also need to introduce a dialogue tree, it can easily be done. Albeit the game will be 100GB instead of 50, but that's okay. They expected online gamers to come together to rebuild WV, when they should automatically know that all those types of gamers want is to shoot each other, preferable via quick scope if possible, and they made this amazing would, which I am exploring 100% solo to see every little detail and enjoy it all, and they expect people to team up and explore, when all people want to do from my experience when teaming up is hurry from point A to point B kill stuff, loot stuff, not pay attention, not take time to read stuff or listen to holotapes. Also trust me, I actually love the game despite there being no humans to talk to (not gonna talk to other players because they break immersion and don't role play at all) and I want them to NMS this game and make it great.
In my opinion Bethesda needs to take Fallout 76 back to the drawing board and redesign it into a singleplayer game set 200 years after the vault initially opened so it can have npcs, factions, and proper questlines.
I firmly believe the game didn't come out on Steam because Bethesda was worried that everyone would be able to get a refund without having to put up a fight.

I feel like it would have been way better to have a hub area where the vaultseer and special characters would be. It wouldn’t have had to massive or big, but you would have an area to get quests or events to progress the main story. Sorta like how Sea of Thieves works. It would make a lot more sense then a holotape miles away. With Factions, maybe have a vault gang that disagrees with the overseer, so you have to pick sides. Bring a narrative. I purchased today because I will play with the lady of the household (2 Xboxs). But it’s sad to see how it is. I want to see dlcs do stuff like that or Bethesda support for free updates to do that. As for pvp, have pvp servers and pve servers.
They should just salvage what they can and turn it into a Rust alternative while they still can and amplify the PVP survival elements to make it more intense. As it stands it’s dead in water.
