@@Samm815there's a machine made translation on NMA, I played it and it's pretty playable. There was a proper translation being made, but progress stopped quite some time ago.
Alexander has said that after Dayglow, Nevada band will likely be working on a whole new RPG. I love their FO Total conversion mods, but I’m equally as happy to see them spreading their wings further. Hopefully their new game will have at least 20 people playing it when the time comes.
I know you're just referencing what warlock said with the "20 people" but I unironically think that if sonora, dayglow and this future rpg would be available in english they'd have at least 10, if not 100, times the players they currently have, but that's their decision I guess.
@@DP-vy9zpI was thinking of commenting almost exactly the same thing. If all of these mods were English, the audience would be huge, yes because of these videoes but also because there’s thousands of people like the people watching this video that still love to play Fallout 1 & 2. One day I hope English folks will be able to enjoy these masterpieces
"I suppose it simply feels good and satisfying to be making games" As a New Vegas modder that's really all it is. If my mods had zero downloads (some have close to that) I would still make them.
"It's the slowest fast travel system I've ever seen." Having lived in San Diego, I can say that this is an accurate depiction of our public transit system
It always amazes me how such a perfect extension of the classic fallout experience can exist, let a lone from a lone dev for an audience of double digits. Also not sure if it was mentioned but that map music is fantastic holy shit.
Hey Warlockracy just wanted to say I have a student at this school I work at that helps people with disabilities who loves the old school fallout games and is non verbal autistic I showed him some of your past videos and he lit up immediately and is now so focused on his studies so that he can watch more of your videos the guy is learning job placement skills and I’m now teaching him how to mod and do minor game dev stuff in unity so he can make something for him to enjoy you are a huge motivator to him and thanks so much for that Edit: the school is for people with disabilities and employs people with disabilities mine is a learning disorder with writing adhd and mild autism so if it comes off like a rambling wall of text then I’m sorry I don’t mean it 😅
I think the reason why Dayglow is one continuous map is because author wanted the radiation of Dayglow to be a major part in gameplay, and in Fallout radiation, sadly, happens only when you are on maps, not travelling in the world.
When I first played Fallout I barely knew English, so in a way the language barrier makes it a more authentic fallout experience for me. Perfect timing, by the way. I was just thinking about dusting off my trusty Russian dictionary and playing Sonora again.
i am, as ever, in both awe and appreciation for these. with neither the time, available effort or understanding of language some of these are made in, the fact that these not only exist but continue to be made is incredible to me. thank you for highlighting them
Man the amount of total conversions for the classic Fallout games is really making me happy. Fallout 2 is, by no uncertain terms, in my opinion the greatest western RPG ever made (with Morrowind coming in a close second). So the fact that there's now more people dedicated to creating completely new stories within it than when I was active in the community some fifteen years ago is wonderful. I cannot wait to get around to giving all of these a try.
Long time silent viewer, but I figure it is time to voice my content with your videos - as someone who grew up with Fallout 2, Diablo II LOD, Warcraft 3 Custom Maps and many other heavily modded RTS/RPG games it hits me right in the nostalgia and your presentation/narration is top notch! Since I can't support you via Patreon I thought a few nice words might at least give back a little. Hope you keep on with this, RU-vid needs a corner showing obscure mods for 20+ year old games that only dozens of people ever experienced. One more thing: I was dozing off when you said "my next video will be on EYE:Divine Cybermancy" - while it got a chuckle out of me, I'd actually be pretty hyped for your coverage and take on it! It has a special place in my heart and I'd be willing to contribute to the production/research in any helpful capacity; it's always installed on every one of my systems and I had awesome times with it in COOP.
Always a small highlight for me when I see your videos. I didn't watch the old Sonora video yet, but I am happy this video was easy enough to follow regardless. Very cool showcase, I'm sure the dev will be happy for the extra 5 people who will play this game as a result of this video.
The return of the use of Wojacks in these videos is most welcome. Without them I was unable to determine which moments of the video should fill me with a smug sense of irony.
Hi warlock new fan, love your content, so unique and interesting. Even though this isn't the type of game I'd normally play, it's awesome to see the game through the eyes of someone with passion for the genre. Can't wait to watch the BG3 video (but I must finish the game first). Thanks for the content.
Man I would do anything for this in English. I'm born and raised San Diego, so I've always been so curious to see it in Fallout. Like I wish I could speak every language so I could just fuckin translate every one of these fan-made games for shit I love.
Just for people who are curious “sombra” means shadow or shade in castellano which is world wide considered Spanish language. So then sombrero is let say shader or something what do shadow. As such sombrero is any hat in shape of classic hat (not a baseball cap but sometimes even baseball cap). Is funny because is like when some Latinos will call something hat and always portray it such as cylinder. Very stereotypical and incorrect, innit?
I didn't expect to see a lord of change here... Then again, i shouldn't be surprised that a russian knows about warhammer. As russians have the curious culture of learning how to play warhammer fantasy battles on a competitive level since birth.
I included Sonora and Nevada along with that third major classic fallout mod I can’t think of it’s name to a master fallout world map it also has some fan maps added to it for the empty parts but it’s got every single official canceled or otherwise location
As someone who has lived in Tijuana all his life, I can say that it is the best representation of the city, 100% faithful to the original, I can distinguish all the places.
I'd love to play this, im a huge fallout fan of the old series but sadly im not proficient in russian language and not understanding the dialog takes half of the fun. Props to the people who love this game and make content. you are the unsung heroes.
hopefully devs will integrate dayglow in world map eventually. i'd love to see what they'd make for a local map, like where you choose which part of a location to spawn into. oh, and also english translation por favor.
Great, now it will take even longer for an English translation. Thank god for you Warc; you're the absolute only way I'd experience this at all. I hope you and yours are staying safe and warm. Keep it up brother.
1:44 as a modder myself, i've found it really difficult to transition to the indie space because of this, it's hard to make people care when the only thing you've worked on is mods
I loved that DLC even though it lacked a big fight difficulty was rather high, also looking for some trash things 10x Electronic chip finding them all in factory ugh *pain*, Wish the special items for quests were more often. not hidden. But I managed to do like most of the quest except finding Rupert ghul.
Man it's wild seeing Russian modders interpreting a post-appocalyptic version of the city I've lived in since I was 7. San Ysidro isn't as normie averse as Barrio Logan is, in my experience, but knowing about Barrio isn't something I expect lol. Back in the 80s the city built a freeway exchange in the Barrio to try and make life shittier for the Chicano population, they turned the land under the exchange into Chicano park. Complete with murals on the support pillars to Mexico's revolutionary history, Aztec and Chicano culture, and local figures. It's one of my favorite places in this shit town.
@@SpecShadow Horn of the Abyss for Heroes of Might & Magic 3 is going to get a new patch that features an entirely new faction, so I guess that basically counts as DLC for a mod?
When I see micro audience projects with this quality I’m reminded of a quote from Harlan Ellison. “Some people send me letters they’re trying to be a writer. Though they stall or give up when it takes too long, they didn’t get as much money as they wanted, or some other complication. I can only say that if writing is truly your calling, then no failure, or roadblock could ever stop you from writing.” I’m paraphrasing but the message that artists will let nothing get in the way of their expression, is a powerful one that stuck with me
I am so happy that you play through these mods and show them to people, because if not, I would have no clue any of these mods exist and they are incredible. It's also good to see these creators getting some recognition from us who don't speak Russian via you and your channel.
I'm extremely impressed by the sprites in this mod. If someone would tell me that they're just unused assets from vanilla I would believe 100% Absolutely stellar work
I recently discovered your channel and have been enjoying your uploads. You have rekindled my interest in revisiting the old Fallout games, so thank you so much for all your hard work.
About the lack of world map, I think the constant radiation hazard might be the reason. If nothing else, it makes managing your rad-X reserves much easier. By the same virtue though, it complicates the usage of the hard stuff, like buffout and psycho. Normally I use world map travel to power though after effects and withdrawals, but in Dayglow I had to be much more careful about what I take and when, and generally pay more attention to time. Definitely an interesting experiment. About the fast travel, you forgot to mention an expensive alternative -- paying the guides, which apparently allows you to bypass dangerous scenarios with the power of capital. It's also worth noting that the tram isn't just a means of slow travel between already known areas, it can also take you into an otherwise inaccessible part of the city (which I believe is a prerequisite of finding the local vault).
The creators of these mods are like the MyHouse.WAD of Fallout to me. Putting away possibly years of expertise and effort into works of art and passion seemingly without expecting any recognition.
There is something really cool about creating art for classic Fallout and OG Doom like this. Making art for obsolete media, that only a few people will ever experience but will appreciate so much more
"I suppose it just feels good and satisfying to be making games." As someone that's spent an ungodly amount of time working on personal game projects that'll never see the light of day, you're right on the money. Sometimes it's just genuinely enjoyable to work on a game that maybe you and a couple friends want to play, even if it never ends up finished.
So I spoiled it for myself by reading the Wikipedia but I immediately tossed a copy into my online cart to gift to my breau. Great recommendation, friend.
ACfL had a lot of the inspiration for the Guardians in the og 1988Wasteland video game, which in turn inspired the Brotherhood of Steel for Fallout. They did keep the part where the Brotherhood hoards old knowledge and technology it thinks is dangerous, and the Vaults, but left out the "society is intentionally stupid now" bit.
At 1:46: > [mod developers] don't even get the social capital. they don't even get fame or respect Sadly true, but at least Alexander Berezin (Red888Guns, the artist on these projects) got hired by New Blood for their definetely-not-a-Fallout game, I believe
Dlc's to mods is the future Todd would want, with creation club involved of course. And speaking of dlcs to mods, chronicles of myrtana for gothic 2 will "soon" get a mod of the decade edition that will change and add a lot of things. Do you plan on making a video on it sometime?
My hope is that Baldur's Gate 3 gets a significant modding scene, custom campaigns, et cetera. Divinity OS2 had a DnD Campaign building option that was great. The mods BG3 have already are quite good, many are quality of life that I wouldn't be surprised to see in the inevitable Baldur's Gate 3 Definitive Edition (as Larian tends to do when they consider a game fully updated).
The problem with newer games is that A LOT more work must be done on assets, it's way easier to draw sprites or work with ps2 era graphics because it's less time consuming and sometimes you have hindsight of other mods.
It won't. It's way way way too detailed and bespoke for seamlessly integrating new assets - anything below the base game's quality will stick out immediately.
@@DIEGhostfish If that was the case I don't see a reason for Swen to lie and say it was too difficult and time consuming for his team to implement. I don't think WOTC was all that involved with BG3's development which is for the better they're a bunch of idiots.
I’m a San Diegan and let me tell you the modders attention to detail is incredible. I’ve been to that hospital in National City and it’s true they do torture ghouls there. and before you ask YES you CAN scavenge valuable electronics from border patrol installations throughout San Diego IRL
To be honest, I could see the tactical utility of Sombrero Power Armor in a desert region: The wide brim serves to keep the sun out of your eyes, allowing you to see better during the day, while at the same time preventing light from shining on the optics so that a sudden glare off the glass won't give away your position to distant surveillance. Sorry, that was probably weird, but I try to look at the practical side of things.
I would see your point if not for the fact, that the whole damn armour is metallic and shiny, and would give out your position better, than a neon sign.
i am, in fact, broken enough in the brain to recognize van buren from the 2 seconds you showed. makes sense, since i have around 60 hours of playtime in the tech demo, which is more than i have in bethesda's fallout 3.
