That shot Lucy gave herself is a stimpak an autoinjector loaded with a variety of healing medications and stimulants. By injecting the stimpak, the user drastically increases their own recuperative functions. The healing item in the game.
A few notes. There more than one hundred vaults spread out over the USA, the vaults in the game are in, California, DC, and Boston. Fallout is a retro nineteen fifty's future, alternate timeline. The bombs drop in 2077. This timeline has fusion power which is used for cars and robots, but they are way behind in electronics thus the old TVs and huge arm computers (called pipboys). The series best decision was not to make it realistic, the series uses game logic and weird things happen. Radiation will create mutants, so they exist, that is what the ghoul is. Ghouls are radiation resistant, essentially immortal and can take a lot of damage. How the raiders got in is explained later. The Brotherhood is a semi religious order who use a lot of prewar tech (the powered armor is prewar). The big Airship is from Fallout 4. And the doors between vaults 31,32 and 33 have been opened every three years for trade. NOT the outer vault doors. Norm you had one JOB, Norm is my favorite character by the end. Maximus is a squire, its his job to carry the bag (the giant bag is a nod to the games huge inventory that the character accumulates).
I lived during the nuclear cold war era between Russia and America. Those that had shelters tended to keep quiet about them. But if you knew someone had a shelter you also knew you weren't allowed. There were large places to go to such as the school I went to. The cafeteria doubled as a fallout shelter with large food storage for emergencies. The university and city had a few large ones built as reinforced structures under certain buildings. However like the one under city hall it was built to accommodate the mayor and select personnel. These weren't made to live in for years. They were to withstand the initial blasts and radiation until it was safer to evacuate.
Not cold at all, in an apocalypse momment it is kinda each on his own and if a familly spend the cash to maintain a shelter like that guy had, usually has limited provisions for couple months , maybe a year for a specific number of persons. Can't change number and risk running out for an extra mouth to feed. And as for squires. If you don't understand the connotation, in feudal middle ages a squire was what you see here, helper to put armour on and off, manservant, shieldbearer, etc for his knight who also was supposed to teach him what is to be a knight as squires were knight apprentices in a way. Some of course never progressed over that rank. So yes he is a bag carrier but also supposed to provide fire support and help maintaining armour. And if he show he has what it takes mentally and knowlegewise and has courage one day may get anointed knight himself.

As a European non native English speaker, but who uses (regular) English a lot professionally at work, this was very hard for me to understand. Normally I couldn't care less about TV/Movie reaction channels, but as I love the games, Fallout is kind of an exception; I want to watch and like everything. Any chance you guys could try to be more clear in your language, or is just asking considered to be too weird? Might help other audiences too. Unless the target audience is supposed to be "guys from the hood" or whatever :D Not trying to play "that card", I have similar issues with some Scottish co-workers as well.
That's actually something I'd never even thought about. Really interesting. As an Australian I'm used to people both with strong accents from local origins, or American accents from overseas media. I never considered how it must be listening to language and accent drift from 'traditional' English if you're not a native speaker.
this is a dialect of Black American english. Would you ask a New Yorker to "talk more clearly". The USA is huge. Wait till you find out accents can be different in the same state. Learn instead of being a foreign person dictating USA citizens 😗🇺🇸
@@EclecticPotpourri "Would you ask a New Yorker" Yes I would. I've told (old) guys with an extreme dialect 20km down the road in my own country because communication went down the drain. "foreign person dictating USA citizens" Not dictating. Asking to consider. Was supposed to be constructive criticism, but I'm aware that don't fly well everywhere. It's entirely your call if you want to limit your audience and potential channel growth based on this kind of pride. There are southern dialects in the US I absolutely adore. I.e. channel "breebunn VODs", although I'm only in it for the Fallout stuff. As long as they remain understandable.
