Who in their right mind thought this would compare to the Gateway Arch. It was a large ugly fountain in the middle of a large river that required expensive upkeep

How about the big letters spelling out LOUISVILLE that almost got put along the river front without any oversight or approval. That was crazy!

Hard to get things done in this city. Look at the surrounding cities, indy, cincy, nash, st lou, they are all a good 30 years ahead of Louisville. Says a lot about the people running things here. Sad

People should be teary eyed now. Rioters have ruined the downtown. It is dangerous to go there. As for that awful fountain, I’m glad it’s gone. It was ugly and a terrible waste of money. It cost a fortune just to have it stored in the winter months.

I miss it, I only have fond memories of the fountain. I was only 7 when it was opened though.
