It sounds like a global hit because it has all the qualities of it: a well made song,a great singer, creative arrangements, good recording, a well-developed sound, a great video. But to make it a global hit it needs to be stoked with a well-concerted marketing effort. Although it could keep growing organically, who knows. 😊
Well, a simple and true anser is; she is Danish. - It was popular here, but it will never reach other countries. The only singers from Denmark, that have been popular outside Denmark were Aqua, and Emmelie de Forest..
The singing is great, the lyrics are original and relatable, the video is clever and fascinating, the music is awesome. i never bought a song in itunes so quickly
I'll never be the bravest of us Crossing my fingers whenever I cross I wish I could love without having to fear Baby's fingers got a burn, baby came to near You'll never know all the trouble I've got Still haven't slept and it's seven o'clock Everything I have I can lose it in this fight Somebody gotta tell me that I'm gonna be alright Oh, it's crazy It's crazy up in here I'm inside my head How do I get out of it? Oh, it's crazy It's crazy up in here I'm inside my head How do I get out of it? And then he said Honey And then she said Honey And then he said Honey You're on your own You're on your own, own, own, own (Ha, ha, ha-a-a-a, ha, ha, ha-a-a-a Ha, ha, ha-a-a-a, ha, ha, ha-a-a-a) Searching for sunlight; a winter inside Thinking in circles I cannot abide Baby, make me warm, thaw this snow inside of me Overflowing in my eyes, turn into a sea I'll never know what I'm capable of If I don't go where I'm scared to be lost Hope I'll find my way when I'm going through the night Somebody gotta tell me that I'm gonna be alright Oh, it's crazy It's crazy up in here I'm inside my head How do I get out of it? Oh, it's crazy It's crazy up in here I'm inside my head How do I get out of it? (Hooooo-oooo-oooo-ooooh ooh ooh) (Ha, ha, ha-a-a-a, ha, ha, ha-a-a-a Ha, ha, ha-a-a-a, ha, ha, ha-a-a-a) Oh, it's crazy It's crazy up in here I'm inside my head How do I get out of it? Oh, it's crazy It's crazy up in here I'm inside my head How do I get out of it? And then he said Honey And then she said Honey And then he said Honey You're on your own You're on your own, own, own, own

Marc Hindley I may be a moron(spoiler: I am not) but at least I know good music and art when I see. Why don't you go calm down by indulging in some of the mass media I bet you enjoy. Good day to you sir.
mradu1 Pretentious too. Spoiler alert, kiddo, just because it's popular doesn't mean it's bad. Equally, just because it's not mainstream doesn't mean it's good. Exhibit A is the shitty music of Fallujah.
kiddo? you have no idea how old I am. that's a bit pretentious of you. You can shove your strawman up your ass good sir. I never implied all indie or non mainstream music was good. I was talking about Fallujah. I also said nothing about popular music, I said mass media. The pure entertainment, no artistic value, pump out daily, commodity shit that gets played on the radio or pushed out from 'block bluster' films and major networks. You may not find Fallujah to your tastes but that does not make them shit. You have more then likely only heard this one song and your opinion is based of the bland taste of mass media. But I will stop here. This is the internet and no one can win. Im right, your 'right'. good day to you sir or madam.
mradu1 please enlighten me about the difference between mass media music and popular music? I cannot help but think that the so called popular music comes out of the radio and is featured on various networks, which would make it, as you said, mass media music. Nevertheless, you seem to be implying that mass media music is bad, and the quality of popular music can be different from song to song. I do not know which country you are from, however, I would like to point out that this song was very popular in Denmark when it was released.
