There were actually many more factions not featured in this video (like the cartels who tried to sell drugs, or the doctors who also wanted to sell drugs, or the DEA who failed to stop the cartels from selling drugs because the cartels couldn't even find anyone to buy the drugs). I hope you all enjoyed, and let me know your thoughts of the ending. Enjoy!
I love the image of a cartel group sitting on the road like a lemonade stand trying and failing to get people to buy drugs. And then there’s a van with DEA agents waiting for someone to buy said drugs impatiently.
Tourists are good, we like tourists. Tourists spend money. It's the filthy *reformers* who invite in the robber barons in to violate our beautiful Tanoa.
*BREAKING NEWS:* _"Doctors Without Borders announce re-branding to 'Doctors Without Mercy' as they begin stockpiling military-grade weapons and armored vehicles in response to the outbreak of violence across the Tanoan province, and the resulting worsening humanitarian situation."_
Right after I interviewed Svir using super charged and biased questions (and simultaneously threw El Presidente softballs like "When's the Instagram going up?) a guy with a shotgun blew out the glass of my news van while I was writing an article I found out later it wasn't even a nationalist. It was a confused reformist. Tanoa is chaos.
I really wanted to include that clip but I honestly have no idea how the hell I was going to work in "by the way, the reformists left for a bit and tried (and failed) to assassinate the journalist we were ALSO planning to kill." What's extra funny is that you even had a bias to the Reformists, and despite that the Reformists still had an objective to beat you up.
Holy shit, the American guy standing in the center of the alley, pulling out his knife, and menacingly walking forward saying "Mister Prime Minister" sent me into three separate fits of hysterical laughter
the Adjutant Experience™ was watching the US consulate say some dumb shit, but actually doing really well in negotiations, before everything going to shit and having my own fucking bodyguard run me over because they thought i was corrupt and nobody picking me up
I've three theories of what Rimmy's alliances are, 1. Rimmy is actually a stalwart Nationalist that bleeds the blood of a Nationalist and is playing us like he played Tanoa for views and comments. 2. Rimmy is a mole for a third party, potentially the Liberty party, or maybe some arms dealers looking to make it rich from the upcoming conflict. I say this as it seems the Liberty party was the most concerned with the statement of Rimmy being a double agent, which makes me believe that he is in Liberty's pocket to spy on the Nationalists, but the Nationalists are also using him to spy on the Liberty party. 3. Rimmy is an anarchist and just wants to watch the world burn
I don't know man, Rummy coulda well been a DEA informer. I mean, that's how they used to get guys in with the mob right? Have your undercover guy save the day to earn trust. DEA just happened to show up at the warehouse. But a lil too early to be catch anything in the act. Only to show up later at the worst possible moment and Rimmy saves the day. Rimmy playing it cool? Unlikely I've seen his arma videos.
This entire thing is like that scene in Code Geas where, like, 3-4 different coup d'état's happen at the same time, all focused on kidnapping the same Child Empress of China. Or that scene in The Life of Brian where the multiple revolutionary assassins' wipe each other out on the way to kill the guy they were all trying to kill. Everyone is plotting against everyone else and it all goes to shit at the exact same time, causing even more conflict
What is going on with Max in the video? Dude just appears like, "I broke their car", "I have stolen a helicopter", and then just appears with a PKM. I kind of want to see of video of what he was doing.
He definetly gave off strong "rpg player character" vibe. Basically did bunch off side quest and then showed up with high level gear for final main story mission
Some more context: Fellow Nationalist here. I managed to convince Max to punch the reporter (which was Rimmy and mine's side objective) so that he would have the heat from the police. After escaping from a dead end alley-way on the dock he then found the helicopter and stole it to escape. At another point, after donning a disguise the Bikers were having a meeting at a busy intersection WITH THEIR AKS OUT. Just as Rimmy and I were leaving them the police showed up and one loudly stated "Hey put you're AK away the Police are passing!" Not only did they fail to ID Max from the reporter smackdown, the bikers got away with only a petty fine and losing the AKs, to then go and find a cache of weapons that included the PKM. Max's plot power was very high.
EnchantressRaven said in chat, right as the premier ended: "Rimmy's Bomb" A Plotpoint made out to be important but is interrupted by other plotpoints? I support this new trope.
30:08 Hold on… Rimmy was part of the Nationalists, but when the US intervention was initiated it was a victory for them. So if he was a double agent… Then he’d have to have been one for the United States Government or CIA, in order to make a scenario in which the US military could intervene legitimately! It makes sense, because despite being just a political party member, they were heavily into armed violence and provocation as opposed to other forms of political activism, and another hint is the term “False Flag”, since this could have very well been a US/CIA false flag operation to bring Tanoa into the US sphere of influence! Then again, I could be reading too much into this.
Kinda got confused at the end after the reformists attacked the hospital but yeah it looks like he is because why would the server have an "event" that say "US to intervene". He was 100% CIA also in a comment below about someone who also guessed the US, Rimmy's reply was ">man who worked for america attacked US consulate."
You know, I could imagine this scenario where the American tourist Liberty faction supports the Nationalists because they love and want to protect their country, like true patriots, and the American tourists can sympathise with that, while at the same time, U.S. government officials would be supporting the Reformists who pander to foreign nations, namely the U.S. I’d totally love to see more of this. It was really fun to see non-military stuff in an operation for once. Kinda reminds me a bit of Altis Life, or whatever it’s called. But yeah, super fun watch!
@@tristan3196-l2i Perhaps, but I feel like if they were, the DEA wouldn’t be able to touch them etc. From a government perspective, it makes more sense to support the party who wants foreign intervention and will sell you oil and mining rights. Whereas the American populous probably sympathise more with the patriots. At the end of the day, it’s just a game. No need to go in full detail about the U.S’s past involvement in foreign coups.
@@kgapaneseschoolgirlb Sure but the DEA might not have been informed they were operating there, and the local police arrived before they could "reveal" themselves or get someone to let the DEA back off
@@tristan3196-l2i The local police took awhile before they got there. And the DEA DEFINITELY would not have been informed about the CIA. It’s the CIA operatives who’s be informing them. There are DEA agents who talk about the war on drugs and talk about how the CIA approached them being sometimes scarier than meeting cartel leaders, because of they tended to not only have quite an intermediating persona, but also the fact that they’re threats are backed by the US government. The series Narcos briefly goes over it, but it’s more of a minor plot in the series. But there are documentaries out there that cover it better. But yeah, the CIA would have badges of ID that state “I’m with the CIA, don’t f*ck with me!” Which they’d just have to show the DEA and that would be it.
Captain Keyes actually keeping his pistol loaded is cursed. Also at 14:24 that menacing intro of “Mr. Prime Minister…” as the guy walks up with a knife only to go “oh wait I forgot to put this away, my bad.”
@@Nyghtking Tbf, that sidearm is basically Desert Eagle but chambered in something bigger than .50 cal. He also managed to down a pilot using 5.56 rifle shooting only 2 bullets.
iirc they have hosted previous RP ops called "Hardline" and Jungleline is the new updated version with more factions and mechanics. So i think they are going to host more ops like this in the future.
An amazing video, and certainly some great scenes! I especially love how Gnaw accidentally approached the Prime Minister with a knife menacingly out, and how the Reformists ended up possibly making the planned false flag attack partially-redundant with their own attack on the hospital.
If i was to guess, id say for the DEA, they were incredibly soft touch and cooperative with you, as well as always seeming to find you and your nationalist "comrades"
reason the dea kept finding rimmy was because we (i played as one of the dea) actually had a drone and we’re tracking many different leads to try and find the cartels - rimmy was one of the leads we had as i saw what i thought to be an arms deal at the gun range (it was in fact a bomb being given to him) we then headed to stop and search him but only find the m4 in gnaws backpack - we then interrogated the range master who told us absolutely nothing
@@c.mccarthy interesting... If not then I'm not sure... I'd say possibly a front for the yanks within the nationalists? But that'd be a bit of a stretch, as he seemed to be a bit too well connected to be a mole, unless it was extra deep cover? (Also wow rimmy took a look at this and this got that many like??)
This seems like a fun take on SS13, you have the department heads (faction leaders), everyone gets assigned objective with some antags being assigned side objectives, and for some reason the paramedic ends up with a machine gun and a cybor arm by the time the station (nation) falls apart
@@mabmoro Eh, I've seen it around but I've never seen it with a lot of players. Plus I just don't like the basis for both of those servers - I think in this OP having randomly assigned, pre-made political parties made everything go a little bit smoother. Meanwhile World Server/Blue Colony focuses more on player business and player political parties, more like Dark RP.
@@medicindisquise4271 Fair enough, tho for the sort of long-term RP that World Server was designed for, having that sort of randomly assigned allegiance doesn't really work. For shorter term/round-based stuff, sure!
@@mabmoro Yeah, I get what you mean. Personally I prefer the shorter-term round-based RP that regular SS13 promotes. Each round is essentially like a different prompt, while the World Server is more long-term slow burn like Nearly Dead RP.
This was so fun to watch! I bet it was a chore to set up, but do you think you could do another one? It doesn't have to be on Tenoa, I just really like this dynamic, multifaction conflict where everyone has their own goals. It's so cool!
Rimmy wakes up from unconsciousness in the front of a car, turns and the first thing he sees is a zombie... Yep; just your average day in Rimmy's Fusterclucks :D
I hope you read this Rimmy. I just wanted to say that you probably are the most innovative "gaming" youtuber out there, even if that description doesn't even come close to what you channel provided over the years. Thanks for taking risks and trying to provide something fresh and interesting all the time when you could easily take the safe path that provides a lot of views.
Nice to see you posting stuff other then war coverage again! That said, on the off chance you see this thank you for the live streams and allowing people to discus it and post and/or confirm stuff on the discord, they have been my main 2 ways of getting info on what's happening.
As an american I find that liberty faction intro to be obscenely.... accurate, and hilarious. Carry on. *Jams out to Liberty Faction Theme while handing out guns to passerby*
This was really fun to watch! Does anyone know why it was a nationalist victory? And I'd really like to know if Rimmy was a double agent, I'm not sure I liked the ending because of it. Any chance we'll get to see a part 2? :D
This was easily my favorite video on your channel, love seeing Arma used like this. Equally, I hate you for that plot twist at the end, because I DONT KNOW BUT I HAVE TO
While I like the idea that you are a loyal nationalis, I have to admit that you being a third party mole is also cool. Maybe anarchist, liberty faction, or even another forgein nation
Rimmy, thank you so much for showing me the music, you did me a great favor as now I have 5 new songs added to my playlist. Also the video was banger. Would love to see more events like this.
These kinds of videos got me into Arma III and these kinds of videos are the reason I'm playing as an adeptus Astartes pinned down in the middle of stratis with a small squad of Guardsmen, outnumbered by chaos. Oh, and these videos also got me into 40k. 10000/10
