I've been using windows integrated protection only for the last 5 years or so and I never had any problem with any kind of malware. At least I never knew. It all comes of how responsible you are when you're using your PC. If your job or hobby is trying dubious software from various sources you would better use an antivirus. If you have the habit of clicking on every link that might appear on your screen or open spam mails or mails you get from unknown addresses, no antivirus can protect you.
Had the same problem where Nirsoft gets flagged as a false positive and have informed virus protection manufacturers but it seems to be an ongoing issue!
I don't use any anti-virus software, so I've never had any of these problems. I also don't download any files to my PC other than Firefox and the needed AMD drivers.
windows 11 and 10 have been blocking everything so much I have to add to exceptions and fire wall people should really complain to Microsoft about this it's a true problem.
@@djdoolittle1315 Why do you care??? even if people where pirating, are they putting the programs on your personal computer downloading illegal games, what's it to you that people pirate???
You could make a video about how infected 15-10 year old cd-roms and dvd that came with Computer Magazins (paper issue) were - They are littered with stuff that gets red flag going on everywhere - and i guess they can wreak havoc ( your windows get hickups ok dont blame me after ) even if you are "protected with windows antivirus.
a file i tested had 2 anti viruses saying it was a virusand windows had blocked the file when start up should i be concerned or should i just ignore it and download it
Researching "safest web browsers" I've come to the conclusion it's not what browser you use, it's what you do with it. Common sense is still, and always has been the "safest web browser".
Most malware can't get past Windows 10/11 with all the defenses built in now and days, along with years of security update.s Windows (defender) see's the program "Hacker Process " as being malicious LOL I use 7 Zip to compress and zip backup folders
My antivirus (TotalAV) has detected a ''TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen7'' on a program I just downloaded. So I run a scan at VirusTotal and it resulted in 11 positives out of 65 engines, labeled as trojan. All these popular engines I know marks it as undetected (negative): Kapersky BitDefender Avira NOD32 McAfee Avast AVG Panda ...and 52 more engines. And these are 2 I know (of the 11) marking it as a threat: Marwarebytes BitDefenderTheta So, I'm kind of confused.
