Fami of LOVEBITES Blows My Mind! 'alien alien' Bass cover!

She has another video were she Sings, Plays the Guitar, and Keyboards. She also writes music. SO she brings A LOT to Lovebites. Her working with Miyako and Moa will be awesome.

There is some slap in Judgment Day at at least. Also, she is only 20 years old if I'm not mistaken (that's Hal-ca's and Miyu's age). She is an other one of those young and extremely talented Japanese musicians. She released an EP in 2021 and the funny thing is that the music on that one can not be more different from Lovebites (very poppy with some rock and funk thrown in), but she has already shown that she can play metal with the released songs off of Lovebites' new album.

Miyako wrote and demoed the bass lines before FAMI joined. We won't see what FAMI actually adds to the band until the next album. I think she did change some of the bass lines during the solos since they were a little bit more complex than an orthodox heavy metal bass line would be. After watching FAMI's videos for a good bit I knew it was her even before they showed her face because she does that little dance all the time while playing. 🤭

Fami is such an exciting addition to an already exciting band.

Living in Japan, I don't think Fami's level is particularly insane. It's true that they are good at it, but in Japan there is an environment and atmosphere that concentrates on "professional training" in various things. Whether it's work, music, or study, it's all the same. When you grow up in such an environment, there are some people who reach a level that is terrifying. Love Bites is just a band that gathers such "people of a terrible level". 日本に住んでいると、ファミのレベルは特に非常識とは思えません。確かに上手ですが、日本では色々な事において「専門的な訓練」に専念する環境や雰囲気が有ります。 それは仕事でも音楽でも勉強でも、全て同じです。 そんな環境で育つと、中には恐ろしい程のレベルに達する人たちが居ます。 ラブバイツは、そんな「恐ろしい程のレベルの人」が集まったバンドと言うだけです。

Alien Alien was my first Hatsune Miku/Vocaloid song, which I saw in a bass cover video by HaruchinBass (sadly no longer active). Fami goes a lot harder than Haruchin but Fami just goes hard in general, lol. Also holy cow she got picked up by Lovebites? That's amazing and wonderful!

We will see more of Fami's techniques on the next album, Judgement Day demo bass lines were already done by Miyako, Fami did changed some accents!

Awesome! She does a bit of slap in Judgement Day throughout the song, most noticeable during Miyako's 2nd solo, Haruna also changes her beat to match Fami's slap in that part!! 🤘😊

"Judgment day", did you really miss those slaps? There were plenty of them, audible and visible.

Wave, you need to watch Judgment day again. Fami slaps pretty much all the way through it. There are sections in the chorus where she separated a bar with 2 beats of picking and 2 of slapping.

Little heads up. If you're paying close attention to the playing in the video, it doesn't necessarily match up to the audio. Fami has stated that she records the sound separately from the video because she wants to visual part of the video to be entertaining and animated. She can't really play that accurately while bouncing around that much.

I really loved Miho, but this girl is a real monster on bass. She was less than 20 years old when she did her solo album like two years ago. Wrote all songs, sing and did bass. Fami can also play the guitar and even keyboards a little-reminds me at Miyako. With just 21 years old right now, what is she doing is absolutely fantastic. Imagine what she will do with The Woflpack. They choose for a long time and pick her. She is definitely the best choice for Lovebite madness.

i wouldnt worry about them utilizing Fami. I dont know for sure but I think its safe to assume that Lovebites had the songs for judgement day written before they even knew who would be the bassist. In the little snippet they posted of the auditions they mention how they are excited for the added color that Fami will bring to Lovebites

LOVEBITES needs to let Fami go nuts and write some new riff and grooves for their old songs, she is an incredible player. Hearing her playing ring out will really only elevate Lovebits already awesome sound

If I hadn't met Stu Hamm back in 87 before he blew up playing with Joe Satriani, I would have never thought things like that could be done with a Bass. He predates so many others who took up the contrapuntal tapping, as she demonstrates with the two string rt hand tapping while fingering notes with the left. It's quite the exercise trying to play one thing with the right, while fingering something else with left, very much like piano playing. People need to revisit Stu.

To me this the real Fami. The Lovebites version is a calmed down version. If you watch "judgement Day" you will see she is using slapping and plucking the strings.

Finally somebody reaction to an Amazing Bass Player

Fully agree on anything you said about Fami's bass-playing! In the videoclip of "Judgement Day", there were actually a few short moments in which it at least looked like she was slapping, but not anywhere near as prominent as in this short song. If we shouldn't get much to hear of what she has shown she is capable of in this clip on the new album by Lovebites, I hope that the only reason for this will be that the songs were already (mostly) finished before she joined the band, thus they couldn't know they'd find someone who can (also) play like Les Claypool. The fact that slap-bass does function even in connection with Thrash Metal was already proven by Les Claypool years ago, when he played the first minute of Metallica's "Master of Puppets" in that style, as can be seen and heard in this clip: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8-VFMnwBGSA.html And it sounds like the crazy bass-intro of the song "Masque of The Red Death" by Hades (to be found on their debut "Resisting Success" from 1987) is also played with slapping-technique: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Y7kJ4PHak_c.html Even if I should be wrong, that is some great bass-playing which I think Fami could easily pull off as well. I’ve been watching Fami for a long while, she’s really talented, but I’d really like to know, what’s behind her almost never showing her face, ??? I’ve also noticed this with a few other Japanese musicians?

He might listen to you? Not sure how he gets his requests. Have to believe LoveBites is going to incorporate some of this into their songs. Most of the Japanese female bands cross genre's so much, you have to believe it will happen. They have to keep up with the competition, right! Maybe she invented a new style, "Shred Slapping". Ellen and Hovak are friends with, and have played with, Victor Wooten.

As @fab1901 has commented Fami's age does not reflect her playing ability. I know Japanese schools have music as the main part of their curriculum and although Fami is an extreme example, when you look at Band Maid, Nemophila, Hanabie to name a small fraction of the talented female musicians from Japan, their education proves it's worth,

Do not think it was a knock but just evidence she recorded the bass cover and then did a video to go with the cover. I'm pretty sure you are aware of Davie504.
