A few days late to the party but the candys still good. One of my favorite Halloween traditions is rewatching the old lists and it's always a delight to see a new one pop up for the season.
Funny thing about PBS, a LOT of content from that era is probably lost media now. Depending on your station, they could be airing local independent feature films or stage productions that will be lost forever...SPOOOOOKKKKYYYY!!!!!!!!
Nice to see you're back with a new FF video. Love these. :) Life Day is wonderful. Especially when you're drugged up like Carrie was. John Kassir needs to campaign for a revival series. He can still do the voice.
Okay, this is incredibly pedantic, but Little Shop the animated series was technically based on the original movie from 1961 rather than the Menken & Ashman musical. Roger Corman let the rights to it lapse in the early 90's, so basically Fox Kids was able to make a series with roughly all the same characters and settings as the musical and not have to pay a dime in royalties because all the music was original.
Personally like to see Frankenhole mentioned since, it may not be one of Adult Swim's best series, but i truly love it. The stop motion style and characters are pretty fun.
If only this Halloween could feature Dexters Mom and her bountiful pumpkin! She has hers in the back of her pants though. Thank you for your love of colossal keisters Genndy Tartakovsky!
Living so far away from the USA but seeing so many imported cartoons playing Halloween episodes I have to admit, I felt like I was missing out. But now I can count on CR to bring me the Halloween cheer I missed, every year on the dot. Thanks.
BRUH I was JUST about to BINGE the past countdowns cuz I thought you'd make one on Halloween not the day BEFORE lol I love these vids Chad you just have so much to say about even the weirdest things, thanks for sharing your insight with us all these years. Hype for 2024 ^^
Bones is a show that I just can't get into, purely because they think first person shooters are the absolute pinnacle of video game design and nobody on the writing staff ever used a floppy disk in their life, if they think it would work after marinating in liquified human remains for twenty years. But the idea of this crossover is just so....surreal.
I have no idea how the hell I missed this upload, but still glad I eventually got to see this. Always look forward to your Halloween lists every year. Always fun and entertaining.
I love that your 2024 list contains two choices of mine. Here's a few more ideas: -Mouse Factory Spooks and Magic aka Phyllis Diller watches Disney Halloween cartoons -Mr. Boogedy, one of the first Disney Channel Halloween movies of the 80s -The Worst Witch, the one with that Tim Curry song -Leave It To Lopez, the George Lopez episode where George dreams about being on The Munsters and The Jetsons -Smoke Detectives, the one where Count Floyd learns about fire safety.
It's probably too late now, but I'd love to see another Top 9 Thanksgiving special. Maybe a "Close Enough" Thanksgiving list. Specifically, I was reminded of an Alvin and the Chipmunks episode, Food for Thought, where they study American history.
I occasionally think of Nick or Treat, I heard they had to eventually stop it due to the condition of the kids needing to answer "Nick or Treat" but if said with just the wrong inflection things could've been misheard if anybody but Nickelodeon called.
I still tune into these compilations. Ah, so you're going over the original Dancing Pumpkin. Saberspark went over the remake, so I was curious about this one. Y'know, I never understand the artistic choice to give anthropomorphic pumpkins human-like faces when it's the one fruit people carve faces into anyways.
Rewatching this, I want to comment, climbing a rope in gym was the reason they had nurses in school... not the only reason, but was good one. Rope I climbed was three stories, over just a few thin mats, and a room full of my peers all "cheering" for me..... You would think pulling that off would have at least impressed a few of em... nah, they beat me up later cause they wanted to see me fall.... what is it like to look back fondly on your youth?
Another great video CR. It's crazy how many holiday specials I either had forgotten about or never experienced. With Thanksgiving around the corner, I should rewatch that video of yours, so get my watch list :D
I loved watching Bones and I always wanted it to have a crossover with another show. Now when I first saw it, I thought Sleepy Hollow was an odd choice, but looking back it makes sense, since both shows is about a rational crime fighter who has to team up with an oddball to solve odd crimes.
Actually the Lego Star Wars Halloween special is more steeped in lore than you may think. The Hutt originated from a Lego Star Wars SERIES called The Freemaker Adventures, and I'm pretty sure Vader's assistant originated from the recent Marvel comics. Also, it is funny that you mentioned the Galactic Starcruiser as Lego tried promoting that too with a Summer Vacation special taking place on the ship it was based on, the Halcyon.
The Worms need Supervision cause it will cause Mass Hesteria otherwise Cause you know, They might actually reveal that they're aliens for one thing. Also, Kids drink Coffee too. I've seen kids drink coffee, my Neice drinks coffee
Looking for oddball Halloween episodes and specials that will either make or break your Halloween?? Well here’s the list for you!! I love how more bizarre this gets!!
Damn, was hoping Evil Urkel from that weird Halloween Family Matters episode would be on here. That tish was so effin weird. Afterwards my dad called Steve Urkel "demonic." 😂
19:24 there was a simple solution to this. Just put a net or something under Baby Sinclair and wait for his arms to get tired. 53:00 Okay is anyone else getting "Rapsidy Street Kids believe in Santa" flash backs here?
In real monsters the kid (name Bradley or radley can remember) dose reappear im time where ickis helps him on a camping trip and then he and ickis teamed up to save all the monsters from simon the monster hunter
The AAAH real monsters kid from the pilot is on another episode from a very later episode on one of the last few seasons. I did not know who and how in God's name Ickis was talking to a human child. But now this makes sense
fun fact, the baby "gonna love me" song from dinosaurs became somewhat popular in germany that they started to play it at the end of almost every episode. With that said.... yeah sorry, still love this episode and that song XD Also there are still a lot of adults in germany who instantly get the "not the mama" reference when someone quotes it XD
I'm surprised that there was no mention that Solar Opposites was created by genuine creep Justin Roiland, as well as voicing Korvo and other characters.
Ok... In case you don't already have your picks for this year (2024), and in case I haven't gotten on this soapbox yet, I'd recommend you to take a gander at Mickey's Monster Musical from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I remember watching it in 6th grade (don't @ me 😑) and really liking it. But in the years it's been since I've watched it, I've noticed a *_lot_* of similarities between it and Rocky Horror. Like, the songs and the stories were eerily similar. 🤔 I even nicknamed Monster Musical "The Rocky Horror Preschool Show". I was today years old when I found out that it was *_ON PURPOSE!!!_* 🤯 I looked up the special's Wiki page, and low and behold: _"'Mickey's Monster Musical' is a Halloween special of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It is a parody of the 1970s cult classic musical film The Rocky Horror Picture Show."_ A _child-friendly_ version of Rocky Horror 🤯. That in itself should qualify it for this year's list.
