The Nissan offers over 44” of Front legroom. The Honda has significantly less. This is why the rear legroom in the Nissan is less. The measurement is taken with the front seat in its maximum position, thus shrinking the rear seats measurement. You two do absolutely the BEST Comparison videos.
@hellkitty1014

Yep, the Nissan has really long seat tracks. Honda seats never go back far enough for this 6'5 guy.

Pathfinder all the way. Nissans bigger suvs and their trucks are actually just as if not more reliable than hondas and toyotas, and they cost significantly less for more stuff. People just say nissan is bad all around cause they see the letters "cvt".

I do like the Pathfinder quite a bit, and I assume it COULD be much more reliable for many years to come! Especially considering Nissan pulled the plug on the CVT :D

After owning 6 Honda from 2020-now I’ll gladly take a Nissan pathfinder. Honda quality control has taken a 💩. I traded my 2022 piece of 💩 pilot in for a 24 AWD Nissan ariya. This thing drive like a DREAM! Only noises I hear are tire/road contact, no wind no nothing. I’m still in shock on how I hear 0 wind noise. Sadly I’ll probably never go back to Honda again.

I'd take the Pathfinder. I do like the Grand Highlander, Explorer, Traverse/Acadia/Enclave a little bit more tho.

Both are solid choices. However, both suffer from less than ideal dealership experiences. Honda dealers won't budge on price because they can sell every Pilot they get in. Nissan dealers will discount Pathfinders all day long, but when it comes to service are very spotty. If I had to choose anything in this segment, I would go either Highlander or Traverse. If I had to choose between only the Pilot or Pathfinder, I would choose the Pathfinder because of the more refined interior, slightly larger front row room, and I think it just looks a little better on the exterior. Not to mention the Pathfinders are readily available and dealers are discounting them.

Having worked on both, for me I’m going with the Nissan because that VQ motor is just as reliable as the J35 Honda and will be cheaper on parts, at least in my area. Plus I’m not a fan of push button shifters so Honda looses me on that.
@hellkitty1014
@hellkitty1014 13 дней назад
I'd even argue the VQ is more proven than this Honda 3.5 because it is the first to have a DOHC design, aside from the J35. VQs have timing chains vs belt, and we all know the internals on VQs are pretty stout!

We recently test drove both. The shifter in the Pathfinder is pretty wonky going into neutral. I could see panic attacks going thru car washes. Pilot is only banking on the Honda name at this point. If I had to choose 1, I would pick the Pathfinder, the front seats were amazingly comfortable.

I think you missed one part which is maintenance costs and spare parts pricing. Honda is sooo much expensive than Nissan (at least in my country) Please include the total costs of regular maintenance from 10000 KM to 100 k KM (or miles) for both cars According to what I saw (in my country from 0-100k KM maintenance for Honda pilot is around 5k $ and for nissan Pathfinder around 2.7k $)

You overlooked the passenger power seat adjustments. The Pathfinder has full power adjustments, including power lumbar adjust while the Pilot only has 4-way power adjustment. The Pilot has no passenger seat height adjustment and no lumbar adjustment! That alone would prevent me from buying the Pilot. Also, the Pathfinder can accommodate 48” wide material in the rear cargo area while the Pilot cannot. This is because the width between the rear wheel housings is over 48” in the Pathfinder while the Pilot is narrower.

Nissan and Ford are probably my favorite brands so I’m a little biased lol lol but buy what you like. Everything has problems and nothing perfect it’s made by humans and we’re not perfect at all. Can't go wrong with either, really. One caveat, we own a '20 Odyssey, and there's a "feature" of Honda cars that has been around for years and years. If you can take some sort of extended test drive, do so. Seats in Honda's cars are notoriously uncomfortable for a lot of people. They tend to be stiffer, but in a bad way if that makes sense. My wife doesn't complain about her Odyssey, but I do. Basically, if you're built like me with very little, ahem, derriere, you may not be comfortable, especially on longer trips. Funny that it's paired up with the Pathfinder, as I've found Nissan to have the most comfortable seats of all brands for people like me (seats are extremely subjective). And it isn't even close. (We currently own 1 Honda and 1 Nissan). But at the end of the day, both our cars have been fantastic as far as mechanical issues. Nothing to speak of.

Go with the Honda. As an owner of a '23 Pathfinder with only 15K miles on it, it's a hunk of junk. Tomorrow will make the fifth trip to the dealer. I'm still under warranty, thank God. To many electronic, build quality and now the transmission has issues. As soon as the '25 Passport comes out, I'm punting it.

Two things that make me pick the Pilot over the Pathfinder.. If somebody is smart enough to buy the the new Pilot with a darker color, that thing looks entirely much better than that Pathfinder looks. (Of course sometimes I wish the exterior look gave any points) Also with the Pilot having the more refined interior experience, AS WELL as the all-important to me - under console storage for my wife's work notebooks and purse, I'm not sure that even if your points doubled the Pilot that I would pick the Pathfinder.

We bought a pilot about eight months ago. I never considered Nissan because Nissan. The Pathfinder and frontier may be good, but the rest of the stuff they make is garbage. I don’t have respect for companies phone it in. Altima, Sentra, versa, cvt. It’s like Nissan chooses not to be successful.
@devongee1776
@devongee1776 13 дней назад
I've had two Altima 's in my life. Both were perfectly fine vehicles and drove all the miles I asked of them without hiccups. They also came from a time where Nissan was offering you more for your money than the Honda's, which was just fortunate timing. Doesn't seem like they get away with that anymore, on any model. Most redeeming part of the Nissan experience is that you're far more likely to find good deals on them. But one could argue you could get even better deals by going to Mitsubishi for a crossover instead, where they may practically GIVE you the car.

As much as I don't like CVTs, the JATCO has come a long way in terms of refinement and reliability. Nissan's VQ V6 is probably one of the most proven on sale in the industry as well. Honda's DOHC 3.5 is technically new and not as proven as the J35 SOHC. That said, you really can't go wrong with either and the Pilot is a great choice!
