Family Affair was one of the most iconic family sitcoms of the 1960s, and it remains a beloved classic today. John Cato and Erin Murphy "Tabitha" from Bewitched talk to the talented Kathy Garver “Cissy” about what it was really like working on Family Affair with Brian Keith, her audition for the role, Sebastian Cabot's stake in the show and the sad passing of Anissa Jones “Buffy”. She also shares some fascinating behind-the-scenes stories about working with Cecil B. DeMille and Charlton Heston on The Ten Commandments. Kathy's delightful wit and insight makes this an interview you won't want to miss!

@@danalamb8398 I got a tinge of sadness everytime the star of FAMILY AFFAIR BRIAN KEITH came up in the converstaion . I guess other boomers have fond memories of his presence in the movies of our youth. THOSE Disney family films the occasional western THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING many many co starring roles and then FAMILY AFFAIR. I loved this actor he was so prominent in my mind . similar to FRED Mc MURRAY. Truly a golden era before the technolgy political correctness and public taste changed everything.

I found this video totally by accident, and I have to tell you that it’s one of the most fun hours I’ve spent watching You Tube ever. What a treat to see both of these lovely ladies in the same video! I still watch both “Bewitched” and “Family Affair,” along with other shows of that era, because they out-class the trendy junk that’s on TV today. Thank you, John, I am now hooked on your channel! And thank you, Erin and Kathy! Watching the two of you was just so much fun, like being at a party with you. God bless you all!

I'm was surprised that Judy Norton didn't mention him in your recent interview with her, the episode was mentioned! @charleneweege7149 I remember when Cathy was reported to have gone on to get classical Shakespearian training. and of course AISSA who had that overdose around that same time. CATHY is very close to my age and if her character had been any sweeter she would have fostered a generation of diabetic kids. The family dynamics ficitionalized in FAMILY AFFAIR and the ensemble cast were unique .

@@charleneweege7149 I was constantly disappointed when these young actors disappeared after the shows were canceled. I was really pulling fir some of them. I and many others were willing to look past the type casting because we were already fans and we knew the difference. I was particularly miffed when Paul Peterson and DAVID Cassidy were phased out like yesterday's garbage. you have no control on these matters and the stars themselves are relegated to unemployed actor category. it's a tough business when the initial popularity goes away.

These long ago child actors snd their respective series make mind &heart sail away to those days of t.v. networks and the massive viewerships. FAMILY AFFAIR is one of those top top shows that got into my psyche. At least the part that retains images of tv from the boomer era. F. A. was a national preoccupation at one point. More public relation campaigns then any one show . i guess a lot of people really cared a bout the cast. I see many T.V. GUIDE artiicles exclusives and coverphotos i certainly needed to know evrrything abiut sebastion Cabot because i was hoping that someday i would have a beard that rivaled MR. FRENCH. ERIN of course was one of the most loved young kids on one of the most loved long running sitcoms in history. just have these folks still alive and hearing them talk about these exalted shows i tuned into and the magic of that specific era is so fun

@ThatsClassicTV I've come to realize I'm really more interested in the adult stars that decided to do television. And it's nice to know a little of their day to day lives from the only cast members still able give you that information. STARS are stars and unemployed actors are unemployed actors. A pretty sad equation that's applies to almost all the child stars. JOHNNY WHITAKER BILLY GRAY PAUL PETERSON BILLY MUMY helps give some closure to the fans who still appreciate the magnitude of old tv series.

Well that was a wonderful show, it's always interesting to hear all about the goings on about the shows, different stuff, it gives a completely different view, when I would fly to California & bum around town, driving to my favorite car book store in Burbank, I'd drive right by the Warner Bros ranch facility, peek right through the gate & see the buildings from Bewitched as well as the fountain, it's a pity that one can't tour that, because I'll get caught up in the moment of looking at the sets of all the classic Screen Gems shows, & picture everything that was filmed there, I've also watched plenty of videos on CBS studio center, so I know about all that's been filmed there as well, those would be 2 studios for a once in a lifetime visit, but maybe one day when the pandemic finally comes to an end, & the world can finally breathe without a mask, that'll be a trip, but if did travel, it'll be a lovely road trip instead of the chaos of the airlines, who needs that hassle!!!
