The Family Crew Neck top down pullover can be worked in Any Yarn but you do need to do some math to get started. I am going to take you through the numbers needed to cast on for a 4 year old size.
Please Note: the Back of Neck number of stitches must be a multiple of 4. There is a chart in the pattern to help you out with that.
The math is nothing your calculator can't handle.
