Out with Fred today. Funny to see the filming for a Dutch series. There were a lot of takes because the actors had to walk down those stairs again and again. My health is unfortunately still not good and I had the results of the iron test. I have far too much iron in my blood. I hope that is a mistake because too much iron is very bad. I had my blood drawn again at the doctor and I will have the results next week. Next Friday we are going to the Belgian Ardennes for a week and of course we will share that with you again. Dear Eveline, thank you for sharing your day with us! You have indeed married a kind and sensitive husband lol. The sausages and pussy cat ate so well, much better than me haha. With regards to the the iron level, a benign false or temporary elevated state can be due to: 1. recent prolonged period (4-6 weeks or more) of high iron food intake eg spinach, dark green leafy vegetables, dark meat (beef) or even multivitamin supplement fortified with iron; 2. acute inflammatory condition / infection ie any illness that involved a fever basically. Iron is what we called an inflammatory marker so if you suffered from say a chest infection recent, your iron will be elevated. Of course any blood test cannot be viewed in isolation and the degree of elevation over however long a duration should all be taken into account. Therefore your doctor has done the right thing by doing a full proper blood test which I'm sure will include liver function and other blood cell indicators. You are already doing the right thing by being proactive in seeking answers to your own health and whilst the diagnoses/remedies might not be readily apparent, worrying about come what may will not expedite the process so you might as well sit back, enjoy the animals and have another piece of chocolate whilst you are at it! I'm a children's cancer doctor and I personally suffer from hemochromatosis (elevated iron condition) so let's just say I can feel your pain haha. Don't worry, all shall be well in the end and just go with the flow and everything shall sort itself out in the end like it always does 🙂.

Two things: [1] WOW, Chou Is SO FAST!! Even faster than CC I think, who is very fast. She must've inherited CC's speed gene. [2] First Fred got so worried at leaving Lou at the vet in France after she ate rat poison. And now he's become emotional watching a movie. I think he must be a super big mush - and that's so nice to see - truly. Good for him. PS - Fred is so smart. He BACKS into his parking spot. My Dad trained all of us to back into parking spots every time - makes it so much easier when you leave - just drive out. No craning your neck to avoid other cars. When you do it all the time, it becomes super easy but most people don't even try. They drive into their spots and then have to be so careful backing out later. ❤🐾🇺🇸🇳🇱

Hope you get better Eveline! I feel the same way as you do about elevators. I would rather take the stairs any day. My anxiety will get the best of me on those things.

Normally I have an iron deficiency that is caused by heavy periods. This iron cannot be supplemented by a diet so I had an iron infusion in the past. I am also surprised about this result and if it really is too much iron then the doctor thinks of iron storage disease. But I keep my fingers crossed and hope that is not it. xx
Iron deficiency is difficult. Years ago after I was diagnosed hypoglycemic follow-up tests revealed very low iron. Got many different iron $$$ medications. All made me very sick. So I stopped going to the Dr. Just battled with the hypoglycemia. A few years later I had a comprehensive cholesterol/A1c test that included an iron test. All was good.

Eveline, I had noticed something on YT that I thought might be important for you. Consumer Reports magazine tested cinnamon brands in the US and found many had dangerous levels of lead. Lead is very poisonous. I don't know about cinnamon brands in the Netherlands, but safest ones in US were shown in YT video, "These 5 ground cinnamons had the least lead in our tests - Consumer Reports" Maybe this is useful for you? I hope you get your iron/health problems figured out.❤
The US is also finding very high levels of lead in the drinking water of some cities because of old lead pipes. And also many dark chocolate brands were found to have a bit too much lead and cadmium so caution should be used. Milk chocolate is safer.
Hi, thank you so much. Everything is always useful and it is always good to find things out. The Dutch legislation in nutrition is very strict but it is certainly good to look at cinnamon. I have been eating more cinnamon lately because I had read that it is good for insulin resistance. I always find nutrition very interesting so an extra check can never hurt. ❤️😘
