Thanks. It was great as it was the first time we had all dived together at once. It was basically my daughters first dives and my wife hadn't dived in 15 years. I also did my Instructors course in Phuket far to long ago to admit.
Awesome! That one neon colored fish doesn't even look real! Like a drawing. Amazing. Super crisp shots too! You were using the AOI lens on this one? Getting some superb quality out of the GoPro. Makes me wanna try scuba diving again! I'm certified but the costs have kept me away for a few years now. I also always had a bit of anxiety before I went haha. Such an amazing experience though I'm craving it again! Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks. Glad you liked it. Actually this was a really basic setup. As it was a family holiday and we were only doing 1 day of diving all I took was the Gopro, a single tray and 1 light. There is no external lenses used. As it was clear and we were 12m or less plus I didn't use red filters it meant I could keep the iso from going to high which helps. Diving can add up cost wise. Luckily where I live you can often dive without dive shops. So if I go for a dive at home its very cheap as I just need the fuel to get there and to run my compressor to fill a tank. Of course Ill ignore the years of training and the cost of all my gear, compressor and boat and claim its cheap for me to dive :)
@@seanpe80 Haha! Those are all investments! Investments into mental health I say. Something that many people don't invest enough in. So I'm all for it! I need to get that feeling of being underwater for 45 minutes straight again it's unreal. Continue to be impressed by the quality you're getting out of the GoPro. I need to check my render settings again haha! Well our waters aren't nearly as clear, especially in the summer! A lot of what we like to call "whale snot" heh. Just being in the water is such a peaceful feeling though. Inspiring to consider that even shallow scuba dives can be great!
Hi mate. As it was a family holiday I took a very basic setup. It was a gopro with a single handle and one light. I also only had one set of batteries for the light so it was running out in the end.
@@seanpe80 Hi..Can you plz elaborate further on which GoPro grip would be best & which light were you using. Also what could be the easiest way to carry an action cam & light for a first time diver ? Thanks in advance
Hi. On this video I was using a single handle tray. Any cheap tray from ebay will do. A double handle one will give you better stability and let you add 2 lights. I also use lights I can get from ebay. Mine is a QH18 from china. Lots off sellers but be warned they are hit and miss so expect some not to work or flood but given they are 1/10th to 1/20th of the price of a name brand light you can't expect the same. Now as far as carrying it and taking it as a first time diver. If you are saying you have never dived and are about to do your first dive then I would say learn to dive first. Once you have done a few dives and have mastered your buoyancy and diving is easy then start with a gopro on a selfie stick, then move to lights. I have a bungee that I can clip my setup to so I don't lose it.
