I went to college with Aaliyah back in 2017 we were really great friends majority of my freshman year. We fell off because she became very manipulative and lied about a lot of things including money. My best friend and I would always help her out financially, we bought her food countless of time, I let her borrow my car, we got her a hotel room for her birthday (all 3 of us were supposed to split but she never paid her half), I let her borrow my mini fridge (which she wanted to fight me for asking for it back) , however the list goes on. But watching this doesn’t surprise me. She can lie with a straight face and manipulate you into thinking you’re in the wrong. Sad situation, hope she seeks counseling.

This kinda triggered me because I have an older sister (8 years older) who I was really close to growing up. I really looked up to her and she ended up outing me to my parents. This happened 4 years ago but ever since then our relationship has never been the same. Going on 4 months that we haven't spoken.

The sister admitted on national television that she took her money, maybe not the 250 but, she pocketed some of it. Take her to court.

I wish they would come back with their parents. It's not fair for Jelli's pain and trauma to be dismissed. And I can't stand when someone is telling what happened to them as a child and someone says they 'brought it on themselves'. Children do not have the same level of power and authority as adults and that needs to be acknowledged. Children need help, guidance, and acknowledgement, and sometimes an adult to step forward to show them that they are worth fighting for and I'm not talking about throwing hands. I mean pushing for justice, fighting through not just adversity, but your own discomfort, getting over your own inconveniences because the child is *more important* to you. When parents show their kids that they are not worth fighting for, they end up with kids who don't have enough confidence or self esteem to stand up for themselves. And the trauma of not feeling worthy can carry into adulthood and affect many important life decisions. This is not to be taken lightly. The worst thing you can do in these cases is blame that person for what happened to them as a child or point out what they did or didn't do in the situation. No. Look at what the adults did and didn't do. Karamo said healing is only possible with the parents and he hit the nail right on its head.

Jelli is versus sweet and has always flourished. she not hurting for money and that sister will need her one day trust she will reap what she sowed.

My daughter came out in the 8th grade too and it made us even closer bc I know some ppl are very cruel in this cold society and I didn’t won’t her to ever think see needs approval from others so I made sure she got all the love she needed from home and my family never once judged her for being her.

Let’s speak facts. 1. Jelli seem to have lied about the amount of money that was sent. She said she sent $500 but brought no proof? & said it wasn’t on her transactions list. Cash app never deletes transactions. 2. This is far beyond the money, absolutely. Jelli has a lot of hurt & resentment inside that she needs therapy for. 3. These sisters parted ways at 13 & 17, bond broken right there at their most critical part of there young adult lives. 4. The sister does seem a little cold, but again we’re seeing 12 minutes of their lives, WE don’t know the full story.

PLEASE READ... I am no longer following or watching this show after seeing this segment. I'm disappointed in Karamo for supporting Aaliyah's decision not to pay her sister back the $116x2= $232 after admitting that she received it and purposely not returning it. Karamo basically told Jelli to suck it up and figure out why else she's hurting. I think being TREATED FAIRLY is a great start, right? Regardless of the deeper pain Jelli is suffering, the money blatantly STOLEN from her and IGNORED represents all of the times her feelings were/are being IGNORED and thrown under the rug by her family members - now along with the Public (this show).
