This is quite a rarity - a full, original episode of the early 1980's version of Australian "Family Feud", hosted at that time by Daryl Somers (but previously by Tony Barber, who went on to make his mark on "Sale of The Century). This episode features the Skahill Family and the Bishop Family. As an added bonus, I had kept in all the original commercials, including a promo for "Sale Of The Century" and an audience call-up for "Family Feud".

Man, this set is amazing, and Daryl did a good job bobbing and weaving potentially awkward moments.

The Crunchie Ad looks like ads did up until the early 90s, and this show looks like the 70s, so between the two, it's like 15 years difference.

The big differance between the Aussie feud and the American Family Feud is they play for prizes on the Aussie feud and on the American version for money.

+Eric Purkey Bert's Family Feud used cash as well. Up to $100,000 worth...
@LogoMan7777

And the prizes were bad. I mean, $8,000 in prizes is impressive, but not when it's a stove, a 5-piece lounge suite that looks like something your grandmother would own, an array of kitchen and household appliances, and a "healthy" vacation.

Those trilons on the "Family Feud" board look somewhat fancy, with what appears to be a dot matrix display on one side, the "Survey" numbers on another side, and a "blank" on the remaining side. Or they could be somewhat cheesy. YMMV

The American show usually had five contestants per team, with the exception of Richard Dawson's attempted comeback in 1994-1995, when there were four.

Tony was requested to stick with this show and asked to leave the Sale of the century audition process alone. But refused to take NO for an answer.

@SimplyPriceless514 That's because it's basically a remix of the theme song that was shipped to Australia for this version.

As is the tradition with Grundy shows in Australia along with maybe a few other non-Grundy shows that were transported from America, the set looks similar to our set from the Richard Dawson and Ray Combs eras but not completely identical unlike others that do so.

@@ChristopherSobieniak The original with Tony Barber, was even moreso from the brief clips I've seen of it, had the blue color for the board our version had. Wish there was more around.
