I worked at a funeral home for a while . You guys don’t understand how terrifying is seeing a lifeless naked frozen body . I pulled many out of the freezer and would leave them out over night to prepare them for their next morning service.

When I heard this it was heartbreaking because I had a stalker ( ex guy was dating) but he didn’t work in my apts but he gained access by calling the office and acted like my neighbor I was at work but I frequent the office to talk with staff and said he lives above me and his Washing machine overflowed so when they arrived and unlocked my apt to see if mine had water in it he was waiting in the parking lot and went right in behind them. Started stealing my belongings and one of the workers called the office manager and said does she live with someone she said No “ we’ll it’s a guy in here taking stuff and no water damage! Cops were called pressed charges and they let me out my lease!!

Come to find out he did 3 other women victims after me like that but 1 had more evidence because neighbors camera caught him outdoors her house per the DA. Called harassing them and waiting outside her job. Which the DA didn’t go into grave detail but my case was proof of his pattern behavior

Put cameras in your apartment so when you not home you can monitor your apartment from your phone and put alarms on your window ! Technology will keep you alive ! We live in a time where people can’t handle rejection you can be married if you say no you can end up dead ! But use technology to your advantage my advice it works for me !

The apartment complex should be held accountable for their lack of safety measures especially when you have young students renting the people there should be able to live in peace and feel safe,renting is very expensive and parents pay so that their could study and have a safe place to live.

What exactly could they have done to prevent this? He worked in maintenance, so like in most apartments, he had access to keys to her home. They couldn't have known he'd ever do such a thing. I don't think there's any actual negligence here.

EXACTLY!!! In some areas, the apartment staff enter your apartment without knocking. I'll be conversing with my state Senator about the importance of implementing a change to protect renters ( especially complexes housing college students ). This case is really sad.
@@kingmemories352 the complex has to have keys for every unit. This situation is awful but there are other situations where it's necessary. Attempted suicides have been rescued because of those keys. Imagine a pipe burst in your apartment while you're out of town. Not to mention the fact that the OWNER of a property should have keys. This was a tragic yet rare occasion. There are far more daily occurrences to give reason for them to have a key. There is new technology that can give renters better control of how maintenance/ management enters their home. But the reality is if this is something that he was clearly capable of, then I imagine lack of keys wouldn't have kept him from crossing that line. He would've eventually, possibly, broken in or attacked her on an occasion that she let him in to repair something. Just my thoughts.

This is incredibly sad that she was murdered. She didn't deserve this and had so much to look forward to. She was so very gorgeous. The photos her family had of her was so beautiful and so he's her casket. I'm praying for her family and friend's that they find comfort and peace after this tragic event that happened. It didn't have to. Sending my prayers and thoughts. I buried my first born Son and he was only two years old. So I understand how it feels to bury your baby. It's so heart breakingly sad. Maintenance workers should always have to signed out keys from management. But also...while having the key, they could copy it, so it's just all around bad.
Maintenance workers have always been a fear of mines because they have access to your apartment. That's why I will never rent on a first floor & ALWAYS keep my deadbolt locked so even with a key you can't enter.

Everyone keeps overlooking that the APT COMPLEX should have taken his pass key away and FIRED him. They should only have a key to enter and then returned to the office each time after work is done, OR, the manager ONLY should let them in and KNOW when they are finished.
I only say this because I dated a maintenance technician for four years and lived with him for three years and we lived in the apartment complex that he worked at. He was able to keep his keys because a lot of people who live in the apartment complex have emergencies or request after hours like for instance if your toilet was flooding or your AC wasn’t working he will have to leave to go figure out what’s going on because they want someone working on call. A difference between companies but a lot of tenants want someone on call.
There's sue the apartment complex but this is the wake-up call for everybody and like the young lady down there said her boyfriend works as apartment manager and he kept the keys to all the time like I'm getting ready to move in apartment and it's this big 300lb maintenance man and I just remember this case and I'm like huh I will be buying pepper spray any apartment I'm moving into and you wonder why so many woman's are buying bang Bang's and I was going to move away and move back to Florida this in Tampa and I was like no I'm still close to my family

If it weren't for her family, the cops would have never found the suspect. Her family knew all along and had to stake him out for evidence when the cops weren't able to do anything.
@Al Biggums He killed himself because everyone else was on to him. It was just a matter of time before police charged him. The police had questioned him once as a person of interest but let him go for some reason. They later got more evidence to tie him to her murder but he killed himself before they could arrest him again.

This always has been my concern living in apartments...being hurt or surveiled by some weirdo. I'm sure it's rare, but it does happen. Secure your homes, everyone. There are inexpensive ways you can make yourselves safer, including security door stops (those poles that push against a door opening), DIY localized alarms that you activate and as soon as there's motion, remote systems with cameras that can be set and used when you're not home, etc. We're living in strange times. When I was 20 I moved into an apartment with a coworker and my 6 month old daughter. My coworker worked overnight and one night I heard keys at the door and the door opening around 3am. I was up scrolling on FB and got up to see why she was home early when I opened my door I had direct view of the front door and about 10 ft away there was a man I’d never seen before. I was so scared for my daughter and myself. But I asked him immediately with a stern voice What are you doing here? Get out. And he was looking down, didn’t notice me so he got scared and hurried back to the front door and said “I’m sorry. I thought this unit was still vacant. I needed the restroom.” I was livid. I reported him to the office, and never saw him again. They said he was fired.
It’s NOT RARE it’s happening in the poor areas everyday single mothers are targeted living in apartments, but everyone acts like it’s not happening in those areas because they want all single mothers to be assaulted etc…. By the time the cops come your dead
