@@Ratchet299 this joke wasn’t meant for the audience. The writers did it as a F U to Fox because they wouldn’t let them so something they wanted to do in the show. They basically forced Fox to use up precious primetime air time, and also license the video.

I find it hilarious reading these comments and realizing a lot of people are only getting part of the joke: the WAY Peter delivers the introduction is a parody of the almost non sequiter switch to the musical guest on the show "Hee Haw." Conway Twitty has the kind of name that sticks with you which is probably why he was the one remembered.

It started out as joke about the old variety tv shows from the 60s and 70s that would have musical acts between comedy sketches. Once they noticed that the gag started to annoy people they decided to do the Conway Twitty thing as anti joke to piss people off.

I really just don't understand how good music is a joke, and why hearing good music would piss anybody off. My only issue is the times when they don't play the whole song, they shouldn't be allowed to play any of it unless they're going to play the entire song.
