Danny Elfman's greatest work in my opinion is Midnight Run....the movie itself is brilliant, and his music fits it perfectly...from the crazy car chases to the dramatic standoffs and the more sombre scenes...Simply sublime
Danny has done great many soundtracks like the simpsons and batman the movie 1989 and batman returns. And the animated series too. And all the work Danny has done with Tim Burton since Batman 89 legendary.
@@snsnshhhs663 Not really anymore, Burton blacklisted Johnny due to his drug problems. And Depp has left Hollywood at this point. I think he's more into working with Jenna Ortega now.
and I bet Danny Elfman, who's a pretty cool guy, got a kick out of this. because whatever you wanna say about his music, it's _distinct._ and musicians love that. even if it's seen as annoying, we LOVE the idea that our music stands out from the pack. I mean, it's probably not his FAVORITE thing in the world, but I'm sure in time he smiled at this scene. dude was in Oingo _Boingo,_ man. he wasn't no square. laff.
If I recall In one interview he said it stung because it was reductive of his works, but went on to say nothing can harm him as much as his self-own of putting out "Weird Science"

Dude. Show some 'espect. Back to the Future. Predator!! FORREST GUMP!!!!!! I'm just playin, but yeah, Alan Silvestri is one of the best. OH! WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT!!!!!!
Is this even a jab at Elfman? Dude's just got music that wouldn't tonally work for Star Wars. At least that's how I've always taken the joke. Like, can you imagine Darth Vader being rebuilt at the end of Episode 3 to The Breakfast Machine? Actually, I want that now ngl.
Earlier in the episode, they did a gag during the “Binary Sunset” scene where John Williams and his orchestra were playing at the location. They were likely still there when the Stormtroopers burned the homestead, which means that they needed a backup composer.
Danny Elfman is great but it's ridiculous to think he can do anything. It's not always gonna sound good, his style is more bizarre and doesn't fit in Star Wars, it fits in Beetle Juice. And make no mistake, there are levels to this shit! Yeah every musician is good in their own right, but when it comes down to it, one of them is better!
