Dont ask why. When the mcrib first came out people were treating it like a new game. Mcdonalds had wild promotions for it. How peter and his family reacted was similar to people in real life. It still only appears at mcdonalds a couple of weeks, per year. I still haven't figured out why people gravitate toward it. It's not even a real rib.

The whole thing with the McRib was so ridiculous here in Germany. It was just a popular burger. But it turned out that McDonald's hardly made any profit from it, so they discontinued it. Eventually, they found a recipe to produce the McRib profitably and acted as if all of Germany had been waiting for its return, as if we were all just eagerly waiting for McDonald's to finally bring back our only source of food. And from the Family Guy gag, I gather that it was the same in the USA. McDonald's had completely overestimated the demand for their food. So the reintroduction of the McRib failed again, just like everything else they bring back with a "better" (more economical) recipe. By the way, the gag in the episode went on much longer; the person editing the videos cut out 80% of it.

Blu. Peter and Lois were watching the show Battlestar Galactica. It's a Sci-Fi show that originated in 1978 and had a remake/reboot in 2003. I personally prefer the 2003 version. It's MY all time #1 show across all genres. Not sure how you feel about Sci-Fi, but if you are game, it's a great show to watch.
