That 9/11 joke at the end has a double meaning. Seth MacFarlane was supposed to be on American Flight 11 on the morning of September 11, 2001, but due to a hangover from heavy drinking the night before combined with an incorrect departure time provided by his travel agent, he arrived Logan Airport about 10 minutes after the plane had left.

The guy way too happy because he was late for work on 911 is a banger... Seth McFarland was supposed to be ON one of the 911 planes, but he was late to the air port and later went on to become the rich and famous creator he is today. So to put it in an episode is kinda metagaming. This one was fun! Kudos

3:32 reminds me of two unrelated people named Peter Griffin. One Peter Griffin was a mathematician specializing in gambling analysis, and another was my computer science teacher in high school.

I don't know if there was a guy like that who survived 9/11 by being late for work, but there WAS a guy that worked in one of the towers who survived by cheating on his wife. Basically, the guy's wife saw the news that morning and frantically tried to call her husband's cell phone. He didn't pick up until after the towers had collapsed, and when she asked where he was he said "What do you mean? I'm at work." Turns out he'd called in sick to work and spent the morning in a hotel room with another woman and hadn't seen the news yet. Fun fact: That couple was the first divorce attributed to the 9/11 attacks.

The irony of the last clip about the guy who survived 9/11 is that Seth McFarland was supposed to be on one of the planes,,,he overslept and missed the flight. So there's that.

There was a joke that came out early 2002 that had a guy at his mistress's place when his wife called in a panic and demanded to know where he was at 10am on 9/11 and his response he was in his office in the WTC and that caused the first divorce associated with the terrorist attack. It was a fairly famous event that a number of people thought was real. The 9/11 joke here seems like a play on it.

He was in a video that showed different reactions in real time with people watching the event in Time Square and real raw footage filmed by New York citizens that day.
