There wasn't the full version of this song on youtube and considering it was stuck in my head for a week I thought I'd upload it. Enjoy! All rights belong to Fox.
after 3 years and no one commented, and I gave your comment 169 likes, I agree ... and does my pizza profile pic makes you hungry or want pineapples on it ? :D
Fun fact, not only is Stewie pasted on top of Jerry of Tom and Jerry fame, the dance number was originally going to be done by Mickey Mouse. There have been conflicting reasons as to why it was Jerry, but most likely it was because Walt and co. didn't want to animate for other people.
Yes, that's what I heard too. The film was produced by MGM, as was the original Tom and Jerry cartoons, so in the end it kind of made sense to use their own 'mouse'.
@@johannacoddens3405 in that way he’s kinda like George Lucas - outstanding when other writers support his creativity but give him too much freedom and the product becomes a little less polished
This scene is a legend in my book. The famous Gene Kelly and famous Stewie Griffin dancing together. Don't think any other cartoon can be as incredible as this one-even though it's Family Guy. lol
The entire thing is taken from 1945's Anchors Aweigh, and Stewie is just animated over Jerry from Tom and Jerry. You can still see Jerry's reflection on the floor.
I feel like the only show animated or not that can come close to touching this is SpongeBob. Simpsons had their Reign but it’s not even close between the 2
This is pure genius. A homage to a different era of entertainment? Let's not forget, that was cel animation back then too. They've even changed the sound of Stewie's voice to fit the origianal soundtrack. These guys know their stuff.
I believe this was the pinnacle of the entirety of Family Guy. No other episode ever can beat the creativity and the painstaking hard work of this. Seriously. But I do wish and hope that Seth would come back and run the entire show again instead of doing the voices only for one last time.
This is bringing such a smile to my face, I'm constantly reminded about what made Family Guy so unique, this is one of those things. This random moment of irl content blended with cartoon.
I saw this growing up. In college I became a theater major and saw the original version and exclaimed to my friend next to me that I recognized it from family guy.
1:03 If you worry, if you worry, It won’t bothered your head. It won’t help you, it won’t help you, It will hurt you instead! Grouches, groaners, cranks and moaners, They’re so unfair. If you can’t be gay and merry, Lock yourself in solitary! 1:50 Though it hurts you, though it hurts you, Be a pleasanter guy. You may even learn to like it, If you give it a try. You could laugh and sing and dance, As gaily as an elf! So try, try, try!
I also recommend the original with Jerry Mouse. Gene Kelly was amazing. There's also a Vaudeville routine he did with Fred Astaire. They are amazing athletes.
