Here was our very first day in Alaska, we took The boys to Hatcher Pass and they want to show them the Old Independence Mine. I remember 10 years ago when we came for my husband’s 40th birthday. This is the first thing that we did to so my husband and I were kind of reminiscing about when we came.
I did notice that it was quite a bit different than when we came before a lot of them. Mine has fallen down, and we are kind of bummed because it was so foggy. The boys really didn’t get to see the full affect of the mountains behind it and how high we truly were. But it really was cool even with the fog my boys absolutely loved it and of course they wanted to hit all the trails above the mine.
This was a great start to our Alaska vacation that my boys want to bring their dad to to celebrate his 50th birthday next month. And of course, I am blessed that they want to bring me along because it was supposed to be a boys only vacation.
