And not only the men's, but the women's faculty also. I had a loved one who was in there. She told me how she was beaten and denied her medication. She described how the guards would wrap their hands in towels to hit her to minimize visible bruising and marks. Before we could get her out, attempts would be made to visit. We'd make it through security--2 separate occasions--only to be told that she couldn't have visitors. When we finally saw her we could tell she'd been hit although it was subtle. When she got to court, the extra charges they gave her while she was locked up were "conveniently" dropped. We're blessed we could get her bailed out... ALIVE, and she's finished her probation. She's moved on with her life, but her trauma is real. Yes, they need to hold these rogue guards and the superiors that stand by them ACCOUNTABLE. And that means PUNISHMENT for their unlawful acts. They're worse than the ALLEGED criminals because, after all, the vast majority have NOT been convicted. Thus, they are presumed innocent until PROVEN guilty.
My daughter's father died in Harris county jail he was only in there for tickets. The jailers beat him to death and coverd up his death in 2005. Everything coming to the light thank you God. I pray they get justice but we never did. Then my mother law died a month later. She couldn't believe he was murdered.... only in jail for tickets.

I also hope justice is served too. How many criminals are in jail because they victimized, assaulted, took advantage of, and killed innocent people. People don't get arrested for nothing. People don't have long rap sheets and spend most of their lives in and out of jail and court because they live good clean lives. We need more good parents to teach their kids that prison and jails are not the way to go.

I was r word by a guard then lied on when I tried to report it and I was sent to the hole. Fck them guards. They probably deserved it if they got hurt. We had no issues with the good COs. Thank god for the one lady CO who treated me like a human when I was ready to give up.

My uncle died there. He was diabetic and they refused his insulin. He went in a diabetic coma before they recommended him to be transported to Methodist. He died the Day hr arrived and was revived. The medical staff was visibly upset and had to threaten them to call us still.

It is sick to hear what is happening in harris county. The city is becoming more violent and not all the people in jail are criminals. My heart goes out to the victims of such unfortunate tragedies commited by officials that are suppose to protect us. We are paying criminals in office. Where is justice, where are the honest people we need to head the important offices in the county and city.
My son was choked by an employee in that exact place, he thought he was going to die, and the Harris county employee did that for no reason, they have abused so many people , and there's no one to report this behavior , hope things get better

This happened to my brother and they gave us the run around . We were on the news nas well, and as you can see, my name is Tracy as well. I would like to talk with Tracy and I would like to see if we can get together to sue the county and state for wrongful death. They split my brothers head open. Mr Carnell was there at the new press with us back in 2006 is the year they killed my brother.

When I went in Harris county jail. Man there's lack of C.O. there, inmates walk in stairs alone and halls alone. Trust me there's places where it's dark and no cameras. I remember some lady inmate was screaming and one C.O was like TAASEEEE HER JUST TASE HER ALREADY SO SHE CAN ACTUALLY SCREAM. inside I was like dam hell naw.

Most inmate deaths are caused by other inmates. Look it up. So many different violent gangs in jails and prison. People in jail/prison have to pick a side or the will be killed. Jails and prisons are dangerous places and it's not because of the deputies who work there, it's because of the multitude of violent gangs. It's the gangs who are killing. But it's easy to stand up in front of a crowd of black people and get support by blaming white police officers. It's not always the white cops and deputies. The number one killer of black young men are other black men. Not white people, not white police officers, not white guards. Are people not aware there are also black police officers? Normally at least half of the jail employees are black. Can't continue to blame white supremacy and white people for the deaths of criminals when 99% of the criminals in jail belong to gangs.

I knew this young man he call me Auntie even though we weren’t related. Always very respectful never saw a mean streak in him. He loved to dance and saw do I.
