The property manager could technically release the video unless a court order prevents them from doing so. The manager just probably decided not to release it.

It’s right near the entrance of the Golden Gate Bridge and honestly feels more like a part of Marin county than SF. The problem with it is that there are a bunch of touristy attractions that are embedded in a series of residential neighborhoods (like the Palace of Fine Arts) so you have people both living in and using the same space. Because of the industry that revolves around targeting tourists and visitors for theft, this can be a nasty, sudden and violent cross over. Because the area is so residential, the best SFPD really can do is have patrol cars making routine patrols, but having been in the area at a variety of times lately, I can tell you that just isn’t happening, even with all the bad press and stuff caught on video. It’s surprising because the houses there are insanely expensive and it’s a very high rent area.

It truly was a random act as I could see maybe car break ins happening there but someone driving up to you to start trouble and shoot you? That was really a case of wrong place wrong time running into to those criminals that were obviously out there specifically to do harm to someone. With those type of criminals this truly could have been any of us in any neighborhood.

When random senseless killings like this occur in America and the suspect or suspects might be of a particular race and the victim a certain race, the local news stations try their best to not stoke tension and division by giving these kinds of stories too much attention. They'll try to put these stories at the middle or end of the news hour or report on the story a week later after the incident.

there are hundreds of cameras in that area . that jeep can be followed via camera footage throught the city. If the guy that was killed was important enought they would of figured this out already.

Almost every business and homes have cameras. Why didn't they go to each place in the area and check the footage? that would give them a clear license plate. But fbi has software that can zoom in on license plates clear across huge parking lots. Why not ask fbi for help to zoom in on the plate they have in the picture? Does not seem like a worthy police dept in that place.
