Beautiful Scott, a fish out of water, but brave and decent. The great love of my teen years and still thrilling all these years later. May his soul rest in peace.
I loved Lancer very much when I was younger. It started in Germany 1971 and I was 13 years old. Now I am 62 and I still love Lancer. And miss James Stacy, Nickname Jim, very much. RIP Maurice. 😢😊
I agree with all your comments it is a brilliant show . It never got a chance should have been on a lot longer. Would love to get in contact with someone to put on DVD.
Murdoch was right in bringing his sons home to help....they grew up without him learning to survive on their own....Scott in the military and Johnny turned to gun slinging....Murdoch knew they are the best....also hhe wanted to get to know his sons and learn to love them again....in the end it all worked out....RIP AD.WM.JS.
I was 15 in 1968 and MADLY in love with Johnny Lancer! I remember shooing my mom out of the house on Tuesday evenings so I could watch it alone. A shame what happened to Jim Stacy afterwards. And Wayne Maunder has virtually disappeared from sight.
I was exactly like you thought Johnny Lancer was the coolest thing ever. Wish the network would have given this show more of a chance it had some very good moments.
Re DVD release: I am guessing there is either a copyright reason from the releasing studio or a technical reason (highly unlikely ) as there is very little that is not possible and besides all the other westerns are now all on DVD; either way it's a shame because this was one of the very best Western series and it did did not run long enough. The story lines were good and the characters strong, . modern audiences would enjoy it and the young girls could all fall in love again with James.
