It’s an innate taste that most Filipinos who grew up eating it prefer. I agree that Mark is too polite with his food critique in any of his videos. Gordon Ramsay would probably tell it like it is 😹. I love Jollibee (in the Philippines, not in the US)!
I like that too believe me but when your YT is specifically reviewing food you should be honest lol I know Mark likes the food when his head tilts sideways 😂 if it's just a ummm and not much head movement then the food must have been mediocre 😂
Mark is too nice and tactful on all his food critiques around the world. It’s ok if Jollibee isn’t liked at all. It’s an innate taste that most Filipinos who grew up eating it prefer. Jollibee targets Filipino consumers mainly who love it. I love Jollibee (in the Philippines, not in the US)! Glad he tried it 👏🏽
I love Jollibee we have some in Canada and the peach mango pie and banana langka pies are my favourite! Chicken is also good but I like Popeyes sauces and dips better. We also unfortunately don’t have some menu items no adobo rice or breakfast options and we don’t have the chicken pie option
Their spaghetti is 100% formulated for kids. A major reason why I still eat that as an adult is because of nostalgia. I'm completely aware that it's really just a 4/10 product, but because it was a big part of my childhood, it's a 6/10 in my mind.
It’s not formulated for kids. It was made with banana ketchup during the tomato shortage during world war 2. So Filipino spaghetti became a naturally sweet as opposed to the more authentic Italian counterpart
Honestly I find it to be some of the best speghetti I've ever had and I'd happily rate it 10/10 filipino style speghetti is so good. Not your traditional Italian style but honestly I'd have to say I'd take the sweet filipino style anyway.
I'm Salvadorean 🇸🇻 and have many Filipino friends, tried Jollibee in Rome (very close to the Vatican) for the first time in my life and was suuuper delicious, very juicy chicken. I was not a fun of the spaghetti thou, too little sauce for my taste. Very easy and friendly service thou.
Jollibee is more like part of our childhood. It is not only about the taste. But the feeling that you are getting rewarded when you eat Jollibee. Our parents bring us Jollibee after mass, if our report card is good....etc.
i went to manila about 15 years ago. it was easy to be there as an American, because so many people speak English. the city was also clean compared to large America cities near me. i went to Jollibee too.
Hi Mark thanks for featuring Ph jollibee 😍 As a Filipino what i always craved about jollibee is their original flavor chicken joy without the spicy flavor with a lot of gravy sauce (not the ketchup hehe) the ketchup is actually for the french fries. And about the burger, i just love the original burger without the bacons and tomatoes.
Dude he eats chili like a snack... He even has a chili plant in his garden in Thailand where he can just grab it anytime. 😀 I've watched his vlogs and he eats spicy food a lot...
Hey, Mark...the gravy is for the chicken and you should've tried the hot dog. It's been a while since I've been in PH...I'll be in two weeks...can hardly wait. Thanks for all the great content!
I go to the Jollibee in California. Love their Spicy ChickenJoy, Aloha burger, Spaghetti, and Peach Mango pie. I do agree that the Spicy ChickenJoy can go up another notch. Jollibee is my favorite fast food place.
I remember a Filipino woman i worked with brought Jollibee spaghetti for a potluck and was very proud about how good it was. I had it and thought it was pretty mid and the spaghetti was way too sweet. That beef with rice looked so good here. Fried chicken looks good too. I'd want to try their chicken sandwich too.
I love watching mark weins eat on his food tour...it's only a fastfood chain but I like how he appreciates the goodness of each food he was eating...I admire him as a food vlogger....
Wow Mark finally tried Jollibee! If the spicy chicken is not spicy at all then what is spicy then for Mark Wiens 😅 something NOT EDIBLE FOR US ALL! 😂😂😅 I love how respectful still he is even if the food is not of his taste. We adore you Mark!
So happy to see your videos in the Philippines again Mark! Amazing 🤩 and Jollibee is such a nice place to visit! Looking forward to more videos in Cebu!
I LOVE MARK SO MUCH AND HIS VIDEOS!!! DONT GET ME WRONG… AM I THE ONLY FILIPINO WHO’s DYING INSIDE SEEING MARK CHOOSE THE KETCHUP OVER THE GRAVY ON HIS CHICKEN?? 😂😂
Hi Mark! It's NOT spicy because the Chicken Joy you tried is their latest "spicy marinated" variant already available in some stores. The original spicy with chili powder is way more spicy. Considering your tolerance for really hot food, you can even request them to be spicier! You should have also ordered the PALABOK FIESTA! It's super duper good! AND gravy is perfect for the chicken and not ketchup. 😋😋😋
1) Jollibee is the pride of The Phillippines. I have tried its food several times here in Seattle. I like its fried chicken best, actually. The spaghetti dish is interesting -- with ... I think added sugar. YIkes! The sauce is curiously red ,,, as though it is coloured by red food colouring. 2) 🎄 HAPPY holidays to you and your family (Ying & Micah, too!) Mark. 🎄
Mark that catsup is for fries for the chicken theres another gravy brown sauce anf if you eat spaghitte you must mix first for the sauce coat the pasta
Always eat chicken joy with lots of gravy (strange what he made) , palabok with calamansi and mix, aloha yumburger, pineapple juice and mango peach pie-these are my favs
I don't know but when I eat Jollibee I feel that I am really in the city, that is how islanders like me feel....of course memories bring back from your college days and younger years🥰eating in Jollibee for me is already a culture, especially when you are in an island where there is no branch there because only the mainland in the province has...my visit to the city is not complete if I don't eat even if its just a fries☺😂😂
Great review, For me when it comes to Jollibee, the best thing on the menu is chicken and gravy. At the top is the Spicy chicken Joy - with an extra sprinkling of chili powder dipped in gravy, I could eat that every day. I'm glad you didn't order the regular chicken because is not quite as good as the spicy but it's not far off - ideal for those who do not enjoy that bit of heat. For the spaghetti - it's a little sweet and I'm not fond of the red hotdogs but it's ok and I would gladly eat it if it was free, but I wouldn't pay for it out of my own pocket. Peach Mango pie - It's very nice, but I wouldn't be able to eat that every day, maybe once a week. The taste is good but it's easy to get fed up with it once you eat more than 2 or 3 pieces, and I hate it when I forget that it has an extremely hot filling and burn my tongue. Aloha burger - It's actually a nice burger but I dislike the processed cheese that's melted onto the burger patties - I always have to ask them not to add the cheese. Palabok - huge disappointment, I would rather just go to a good panciteria and get a better version. Fries - If you get them fresh out of the fryer, they are nice and crispy on the outside and soft in middle, if for any reason you don't get them fresh they tend to be soggy. - I just wish my local Jollibee is consistent with this.
Thanks Mark for introducing us to another fast food chain this time Filipino, Jollibee. I prefer chicken, hamburgers and beef. Pasta, there are other specialists. I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas.🎄🎅
Wow. I'm sooo Happy you're in the Philippines Mark . Next time you will visit the Philippines please visit Bacolod City .You will be able to Taste our Famous Batchoy and Chicken Inasal.
Why did I knew that spicy chicken joy will not be spicy for Mark 😆 For me it's spicy enough and that is coming from me who like spicy foods but I cannot eat whole peppers like mark unless it's dynamite lumpias.
@@rachelbyers8063 mark is a whole nother level. He literally ate a roasted baby piglet in Spain. So...if he doesn't like Jollibee.........I get it 🤔🤔🤔😂😂😂
Mark's face was not orgasmic at any point at all during the review. He probably thinks Jollibee is only so-so compared to other foods that he's reviewed.
Mark, the red sauce you are pouring are for the fries, thats probably ketchup, the brown gravy is for the chicken, i really like to meet you personal because im enjoying all your videos, thank you for visiting philippines, i hope to see you soon! ill bring you to some good food and place here at laguna philippines.
I wish we had it here. I know they used to have one in a mall but the mall was torn down and now sadness. "It could be spicier" Ok lets all agree that what a regular person calls spicy and what MArk calls spicy are going to be 2 different things LOL
He is being honest, if he doesnt like it, he doesnt like but he still is profesional and nice about it, filipino spaghetti is to sweet and its for kids
They've started opening quite a few Jollibee locations here in California. The food is ok. I'm not sure who thought sweet spaghetti with sliced hot dogs in it was a good idea, but people seem to order it. Maybe its like Jack in the Box tacos -- they're not that great but sometimes you crave them because they're different. Happy holidays to you and yours, Mark!
@@BearStar1 Real tacos don't come with sliced American cheese like Jack tacos. If you want lettuce, order their Monster Tacos. I think they're back on the menu now. But still no tomato, which they could easily do and it would improve the product.
It’s an innate taste that most Filipinos who grew up eating it prefer. Jollibee targets Filipino consumers mainly who love it including the sweet style spaghetti with hotdogs. I love Jollibee (in the Philippines, not in the US)!
Mark, please go to Iloilo and try kansi beef and also try mang inasal. If you happen to pass by bicol region(Albay), please try bicol express and spicy pinangat(made of taro leaves stuffed with crabs, fish, shrimps and chile), and also try the chile ice cream in Legaspi. Food in bicol like in Legaspi are more of coconut rich food.
I knew it, the spicy Chickenjoy is just like the regular for him 😅 but glad you enjoyed it Mark and for being honest about what you ate. The people who came acrossed you are so lucky to see you.
I'm from the Philippines and I love how Mark is so polite even though it seems he didn't like the food. Not offended at all but have so much respect for him. ☺️ I absolutely love Jollibee but the food doesn't seem appetizing at all. Jollibee foods are yummy when served hot. Also it would be better if he's with a local to teach him that the sauce for the chicken is gravy and you must mix the spaghetti (though I'm surprised why the sauce is too few. 😅 I guess it depends on Jollibee branch because in our area, the sauce is really overflowing.) Hehe. ☺️
The spicy is Filipino spicy hahaha. Since we don't have much spicy food, that is considered spicy. I mean, my mom literally calls the meal spicy if I add a little too much black pepper. 😂
Living here for over 6 years and before visited many times. Would have to say for westerner taste Jollibee is not worth talking about but Filipinos love it. Chicken is OK
I've been in the Philippines for over a month and a half and finally went to Jollibee for my first time today. It happened to be a location in Boracay. I tried the Jolly spaghetti, the fried chicken, peach Mango pie, and a cheeseburger. In my honest opinion, I rate it at about a C+. I had pretty high hopes, the spaghetti tasted like it was made with barbecue sauce, burger was super basic but had flavor, peach mango pie was way too sweet, and the colonel's chicken and gravy definitely stomps Jollibee's into the dust all day.
Congratulations, you are in the very small minority of people who still think KFC tastes anything but cardboard. There is a reason KFC is shrinking in the US and it's only growth comes from countries without chain fried chicken.
4:13 The spiciness depends on what people are frequent customers there. If people eating more spicy chicken at a specific jollibee spot then they'll raise the level of spiciness there & if you got used to spicier foods those lower scoville level chili won't be noticeable. and its always with their specially made gravy
Taking one for the team, Mark. It is a little painful seeing you eat fast food. It is as I thought though. If I ever find a Jollybee I will try the chicken, just the chicken. Okay maybe the mango handpie.
The brown gravy is the mushroom sauce. IMO that is way better than ketchup. Oh and I had my first ever burger at Jollibee. I didn't try the rice or spaghetti dishes but the burgers, fried chickens (that's ChickenJoy, Mark) and the pies. Excellent stuff and way better than KFC.
