Welcome to Hollywood Graveyard, where we set out to remember and celebrate the lives of those who lived to entertain us, by visiting their final resting places. Correction: Further research seems to indicate that Carole Lombard may not have actually been awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The original Medal of Freedom wasn't established until 1945 after Truman took office. President Kennedy established the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1963. There don't seem to be any official records of her having received either such award. Will update if any further information arises...

Caitlyn Handel ~ I understand how you feel, saying he’s alone. I felt that way about my sister who was buried away from my parents because there was no space. Two years later one of two nephews who committed suicide was buried with her, she was no longer alone. The second nephew will also be buried with her.

For everyone who wonders that Michael Jackson is that locked away from the public: Its a graveyard and a Mausoleum. its a place for peace, quiet and for to remember the dead. Can you imagine about the "Circus" when thousands of fans visit his grave daily? Talking, singing and "dancing"? And how much stuff they would bring, day by day, Teddys, Flowers, Posters etc...? And all the dirt and trash? Its a grave for a nice man, not a Disneyland.

The whole place used to be open when they were still selling spaces, but supposedly it's pretty much sold out now and part of the higher expense of being buried there is less access from the public. You have to have a special key and can only go to the section where you have business being there (no wandering around) and they watch the cameras that are everywhere. I saw a copy of M.J.s bill for the property (his holds 8 I think and other adjacent crypts) plus Forest Lawn's services and it was about a million dollars. His crypt alone was about $850,000, which is about what I've seen other F.L. properties of similar size etc go for. You sometimes will see a crypt available on Ebay and they're usually over $20k, even the cremation niches resell for close to $8k.

Omg I remember when Facebook nearly crashed when MJ died. That day was a frenzy! I was in summer school in high school and I remember I could barely study because of all the chaos that was going . I think it´s a shame that Michael´s tomb dosen´t have any description, some of his beautiful poems and his name and death date had been appreciated, I really don´t think Michael Jackson wanted to be sealed of from his fans who love him so dearly. I think that it would give a lot of comfort for them to be near him and tell him all they want to say just to him. He will forever be loved, and I totally understand that people are going around thinking he is still alive to this day because of what I have already mention over. Michael was so smart and had an imagination few can empower like him. In my heart he will always stay alive, because I will always love you for you Michael. The kind, humble and gentle man who gave us so much. Not only music for generations to come, but the love and kindness at heart for the earth, the children and for all the people who was lucky enough to be a part of his life.

Jeanine Indiana I actually sat for several minutes after this video ended and really thought about that too. While so many of us adore him and would like nothing more than to pay our respects.... it's the vicious vocal minority...... the people who choose to see him as what those untrue allegations against him would have you believe. I fear that they would desecrate his final resting place, potentially damaging his and other crypts.

Just coming across this video too and I’m assuming they kept it without a name for privacy purposes. It’s said that the family didn’t want people to know exactly where his body was laid to rest for the concern of vandalism and disrespect. I also believe there some symbolism-Michael didn’t need his name for people to know who he was. His face, voice, talent of singing and dancing with his beautiful soul defined him more than his name. The beautiful resting place took those qualities of him and described him. Just my guess!

I visited this place in 2015. It's a pity that it's forbidden to get close to Michael's place but I understand the reason why his family wanted this. Even though you can't get close you can still see many fans around and also a lot of art and messages for MJ everywhere. It's a beautiful experience for any fan. My husband and me just sat there. I cried and pray for Michael. I miss you so much MJ

Enough can't be said for how wonderful your videos are. You present your tours of famous graves at a crisp pace, but you do it with such love and respect for your subjects. It's also wonderful how you keep the memories alive of so many of Hollywood's early greats, who would otherwise be forgotten. Thank you for your very fine work! They die young because during these time periods, alcoholism and drugs were common. Or they either take their own life, or even be assassinated. And then there are ones that died young from diseases like tuberculosis, since medical technology was no where as advanced as it is today. Sad to say, but it’s true. I wish a lot of these people of early Hollywood and Hollywood’s golden era were still alive though. I would love to pay my respects to them in person. Sadly, visiting their graves hopefully someday, will be the closest I will ever get.

This brings back memories of my own solo Forest Lawn tour last year on my trip to LA. I loved it here as it was so open & lovely landscape for miles in the hot sun & the sounds of nature the crickets. Inside the buildings I remember some of the crypts in this video. Elizabeth Taylors was lovely ❤️

Arguably, this particular video is Arthur Dark's "best among equals." The Great Mausoleum is truly remarkable. Certainly, the fact that this video includes Michael Jackson is a reason (if not THE reason) for its popularity. And Arthur Dark's incomparable narrative brings a satisfying and unique richness to the viewing experience. But there is so much more in this video that makes it so appealing. If one takes a few quiet moments to watch and appreciate (genuinely appreciate) the rich content of this entire video, then the totality of Arthur Dark's talents can be more fully recognized.
