Welcome to Vancouver Graveyard. We are celebrating and honouring remarkable people whose final resting places are located in Metro Vancouver. In this episode we are visiting Pacific Heritage Cemetery, Mountain View Cemetery, Robinson Memorial Park, Capilano View Cemetery, Tsleil-Waututh (Burrard) Cemetery, and Victory Memorial Park. We are remembering Percy Williams, Harry Jerome, Seraphim "Joe" Fortes, Greg Moore, Emery Barnes, Claude Dettloff, Jack Webster, Chief Dan George, and Alberta Slim.
Jean-Claude Van Couver vlogs are independently produced. Vancouver Graveyard videos are not endorsed by the included cemeteries. Please visit cemeteries only during open hours, ensure safe physical distancing, and follow posted protocols. Local cemeteries should be honoured and respected.

When I was a little kid, I saw the Chief in a movie with a scary mask, peeking around a tree. Scared the hell outta me. I still remember that scene and always liked seeing him in stuff.

Love your videos I have family buried in Mountain View buried in 1926 he served in World War I and is also Earl Birney father. Earl Birney was canada top governor honour and who twice won the Governor General's Award. His father is corporal William George Birney buried in Vancouver. I used to visit him alot till I had a baby year ago. I would go through the cemetery and clean some of the graves off and show some of my respect to some of the people that were buried there. I love watching your videos because now when I go to the cemetery I can show some of my respect to these people as well. My grandma and my grandpa is buried in Burnaby and my grandpa was the second biggest family in ww2 in Canada 🇨🇦 and all the men come home after War

I met Alberta Slim and saw him play at the Railway Club. I think he passed away within a year later of that night. He was a real cowboy gent.

There is a plaque commemorating Percy Williams on the corner of 10th and Manitoba, although I would be surprised if you didn’t already know that. 😉
