Celia Cruz was a fantastic singer who I listened to and my parents would dance to her music and I mean dance😂. I was fortunate to meet Celia and spend time with her. Wonderful lady!
Thank you for taking the time to visit The Bronx. The Bronx is very underrated. There are so many lovely parts and Woodlawn Cemetery is only one. I trust you enjoyed your time. Thank you for the coverage it was great.
Anna Hyatt Huntington and her husband Archer created Brookgreen Gardens near Myrtle Beach, SC and their Moorish castle, Atalaya is still there by the ocean. Her husband was the stepson of Collis P. Huntington who founded the Central Pacific Railroad and the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad. They were truly philanthropic and interesting people who were known for their kindness to their SC neighbors. Great video, I would love to visit Woodlawn! ❤
Gosh, what an amazing place to bury ones loved ones!!! I can't get over how unique and beautiful some of those headstones are!! The Huntington burial site is just breathtaking!!! Also, Herman Melville's and his wife's headstones are simply one of a kind as well!!! Jordan, again you take us upon a breath-taking journey!!! Thanks muchly for your time to give us the ultimate best of you!!! YOU R LOVED!!! Have a wonderful week with Katie and the wonderful Jawster...what a fabulous pup at heart he is!!! I hope everyone buried here rests in peace. A lot of lovely headstones. Thank you, Jordan, for this wonderful video. You did a wonderful job on this one. Take care.
Celia's "Guantanamera" is one of the earliest songs I can remember, I remember standing outside to watch Duke ride by on his last drive to that resting place... my unk played with him back in the forties when he was 19
We went to see Miles Davis perform at the Hollywood Bowl. A few months later he passed away. Thanks Jordan for taking the time in putting these gravesite videos together. Always nice to see Jah’s sweet face riding in the car with you❣❤🙏🌹
Wow! Not only do I get to see the graves of some of my favorite musicians, but I also get some music history! I took some notes so I could go back and look up some of the people I did not know.
I really enjoyed Woodlawn cemetery. Those are some beautiful headstones. Jordan you always bring out the best in your stories. Thank you once again. Give Jah a big hug for me.
While you're in NY check out Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Also, check out Historic Hudson Valley and the amazing Events and Historic Homes! Washington Irving's Home! You will love it Jorden! History and Holloween rolled into one!
I sure hope you do a couple more, with your stories along with them, they're truly fascinating! I love that story about Cicali Tyson & Miles Davis! ❤️ You've done it again, Jordan!!! 👍👍
Woodlawn has to be one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the USA. I noted how perfectly manicured those graves are---someone obviously tends then on a weekly basis. Great video once again from JTL and Mr. Jah. I wonder if any mafia dons are buried there?
Thank you for coming to the Bronx and for doing this video. I go there whenever I get a chance as I live a few blocks away. There are many important people buried here, including Celia Cruz and other people, such as the mafia godfather of Harlem. It is a beautiful and peaceful cemetery.
Olive Thomas! 💗 I've watched her silent films...which are wonderful. Her death was a slow horrific one. Lovely grave... Oh my! Geraldine Fitzgerald! Love her! 💪💗 Terrific vlog Jordan...thank you!
What a beautiful cemetery, certainly full of the most famous musicians, artists, actors and actresses, ty Jordan for bringing me close to home. I am a fellow tri-stater and enjoy NY, be safe my friend🤗🥰🐾😎🎶
27:51. I knew “algodon” meant cotton so I looked it up…Celia called her husband/manager Pedro “My little cottonhead” due to his white hair and mutton chops. 😊How sweet.

Enjoyed this walk with you through Woodlawn Cemetery, Jordan. Beautiful cemetery, and so many celebrity graves there. I noticed that the gravesite of Irving Berlin and those around him create a piano keyboard. Thank you for the great video, very well done!
Thank you for showing us the graves of these creative people. They gave us art to enjoy. Today is the day John Denver lost his life in a plane crash 1997. As a long time fan, this has been on my mind today.
GREAT SHOW. GREENWOOD CEMETERY IN BROOKLYN IS FILLED WITH WHO'S WHO OF BROOKLYN. A BEAUTIFUL PARK AS WELL. MAY WEST, LEONARD BERNSTEIN, ALBERT ANASTASIA , BOSS TWEED, BILL THE BUTCHER (GANGS OF NY) CHARLES EBBITTS ,OF BROOKLYN DODGERS FAME & MANY MORE.
Herman Melville is impossible to read. I had to take a test on Billy Budd in HS. I waited til late to read it… he had single sentences that were paragraphs long. So I bailed. I pieced the story together from the multiple choice questions and PASSED! To this day I have no idea what Billy Budd is about. 😂😂😂
What a great opening shot. I love your videos so much. You're cheerful and make me happy I learn about people and places. Thank you Jordan. Say hi to K and Jah from me 🌿🧡
Thanks for visiting this one. I grew up not far from Woodlawn but had no idea so many celebs were there! I also think a famous former mayor of New York, James Walker, is buried there.
I’m pretty sure the Huntingtons are behind Brookgreen Gardens, near Georgetown, SC & Pawley’s Island, SC. Fantastic gardens with world class sculptures against the backdrop of coastal Carolina. Worth a visit.
With regard to Dorothy Parker, I remember reading that Hollywood Moguls loved hiring husband and wife writing teams. Firstly, they paid the teams 25% less because they wouldn’t pay full price for the same household. Secondly, they felt that husband and wife teams would spend more of their free time talking about the script, e.g., riding to and from work, over dinner and breakfast, before bed. They considered that tremendous bang for the buck. Can you imagine? What studio chiefs took into consideration never ceases to amaze me.
Thank you for showing the grave of Anna Hyatt Huntington, I'm sure her husband Archer Huntington is buried in there with her. Archer's step- father (most probable actual father) was Collis. Huntington, who is one of the "Big Four" that started the railroad back east. I work at the Huntington Gardens in San Marino, California. Also, thank you for including Celia Cruz's grave . My husband was Cuban, he always raved about her, we saw Celia and Tito Puente in concert at the Greek. My husband is probably dancing salsa with her or asking her to sing. May they all rest in peace. 🙏🏼
Hey Jordan, if you are still in town, go to Brooklyn Green Wood cemetery and visit the Wizard of Oz Frank Morgan. section 168, lot 14447. That lot is the Wuppermann family.
Back in the mid 70’s Miles Davis headlined an outdoor concert at Stanford University. The place was packed and the audience…. well it was the 70’s! Miles band started playing and then Miles came out with his trumpet under his arm. He stopped at the microphone and blew a quick riff. He then put the trumpet back under his arm and paced around the stage not making eye contact with anyone. He would stop blow a quick riff and go back to pacing. That sums up the show. We joked that we saw Miles Davis but it was debatable that we saw him perform.
