That was incredible!! I would genuinely use the word delicious to describe it - I was ravenous to see more and more of the line portrayed in this beautiful visual style. You guys really rocked with this one. The character writing was also delightful. I love Rheneas not wanting to give up blended with Peter Sam’s cheery nature. It’s a sweet dynamic they share. I also really liked the scoring, the various composers blended well and it all fit the scenes perfectly. Kristofferson’s theme in particular made me smile. That was so good!!!
Ahhhh you guys, it feels like a little bit of your dynamic is coming through in Peter Sam and Rheneas. Will's excitable energy and Miles's even keel, built on a foundation of mutual respect and admiration. Just adds an extra layer for me haha. This is visually stunning; the coaches look great and the ERTL faces TOTALLY transform these models. They feel way more RWS while still retaining the best parts of the Bachmann models. Highly immersive; I love all the scratchbuilt buildings. Skarloey is my favorite. And the MUSIC! HIGHLY cinematic, great music choices. You matched the footage perfectly. I love that bit when the music drops, after "Crumbs, we're out of water." Like, we ALL know what happens when an engine boils dry. You don't even have to explain it; it's immediately obvious how grave the situation is. I love how this is grounded in such a specific time, too; it's Rheneas rediscovering the line, yet some thing never change. "Now we can afford to stop" is such a great line. You can tell he's got some pride in his voice when he says it. They've made it. Just glorious guys, definitely the most impressive thing you've collaborated on to date!
This was awesome to watch! You two knocked out of the park. Your choices of various soundtracks was amaculate in terms of capturing the mood of the story and character's feeling. And the Mise en Scene, I have no words how incredible it looks! Still can't believe that mine voice lines were just recorded nearly two days ago.
* wow, this was wonderful!! you guys nailed this production, the writing was just so pleasant, the sets and model work were absolutely superb, bravo all around! if i can make one suggestion, its in the voices * rheneas' name was inconsistently pronounced throughout, a little transparency with the team might've made that a bit better. otherwise, absolutely fantastic! you've earned yourself a new subscriber :D
I was confused how this was so good as I’d never heard of this channel before, then I realized that this was PercySixP and William Politeski. Fantastic work!
I loved the whole thing on first watch. The story, the model sets, the overall presentation, the choice of music, the dialogue, the voice performances; they are brought together so well here. A strong start, and so synonymous with the theme of the Awdry Extravaganza on the Talyllyn Railway (of which I was fortunate to be a part of). Interesting that you chose to keep this between Rheneas and Peter Sam; adds a suitable personal aura to the tranquil yet complex mood of the story. While I would have liked to have seen Skarloey or Sir Handel involved so there was a bit of a fun banter exchange between the engines thrown in for good measure, in the end I cannot doubt this is a splendid piece. Well done. Regards, Samuel Farris.
Besides the way this story ties into the IOS history book, overall I really like the calming slice-of-life feel to this video, that shot at 5:36 of Rheneas pulling PS through the village is my fav shot. All the other sets are great too!
I loved it I just wish it lasted a bit longer to where they stopped up the stream for a while more and then at the end the passengers could’ve given feedback saying that they had made an extra stop. That was wonderful.
